thanks jps sometimes i almost feel worse with me time its like i feel i have wasted time that i could have spent getting everything in order cleaned decorated etc to be nearer goal of everything being done so can spend time doing what i want IYSWIM

A good antidote for this is to remember that time is the only thing that is truly yours (to give, to sell, to spend, or to waste!) No one ever lay on their death bed and wished they'd done more housework.

On the other hand I do really understand what you mean about getting things done. I have just under five weeks of the summer hols left to get the house sorted out - if I went mad and did it all in the first few weeks, I'd have a lovely time enjoying it for the remainder.

As it is, in my spare time I procrastinate and loaf about with the house in a tip or burger off and play in the garden instead of decorating... but there you are, that's in my nature and while I could change and motivate myself sometimes, I think it's really important to my mental health to do it the way I do.

I agree, there's time to work and time to play and if the work is spread out into manageable chunks over a period of time then so what, I do a good enough job slowly, better than a rubbish job quickly and with mental burnout to go with it. The worst thing that can happen is to fall between the two - choose to relax but then spend the time thinking you should be working!

    Hi all!

Just thought I would update you all after your kind words the other day.

Had Bupa phone consultation this morning. Spent 20 mins on the phone with a really nice girl going through my condition what I understand of it & how I manage it.

End result?? She has closed my case as (in her words) "I am very well informed of my condition have regular reviews and manage my condition really well!"

    Yippee :j

Feel like HUGE weight has been lifted as this was really worrying me phew! feel like I can breath now to go tackle the bedroom :(

wilf its a hard and long path and never easy but hopefully things will be sorted very soon,

well im not in the best of moods today :-( slept late, still exhausted, then read email and have a huge bad mood on now! been told even with my illness im not allowed to resit year 2 as i completed my assignments! yet if they took the time to look they were terrible assignments and not my usual work! so it seems i may only have 2 options! 1 is to resit without residency so i only do the exams that i need to sit but i get no funding what so ever which would mean i have no way to get over to sit in on lectures key to the exams, if i even get informed of the timetable as they say im not allowed to sit in on lectures!
then i think my only other option is to quit! i don't want to but i need that year out but also need to rest the whole year as i'm in no position to sit year 3 as i don't know enough to get me through!
why is it such a big thing for them?? they'll get paid tuition fees if i resit!
i can see much tidying done today :-S though got stuff going with packing ready to decorate the front room before the new sofas arrive (that we ordered saturday :-) leather recliners ooooooooooo)
hubbys at work so thats not helping my mood today so stuck with the kids who are bickering whcih is nothing new!
maybe bingo with friends will help my mood tonight well if i win the national then hey!!!! happy happy times! lol

    Hi everyone :)

This morning I managed to sort through a box of last years summer clothes under DD's bed. I now have a big pile that are too small for her. Can you sell clothes at a car booty? In the town where we have our caravan there's a car boot sale every saturday, so we were considering doing one after the holidays.

My parents have taken Dd out for a few hours so I can get some packing done. Time for a coffee break me thinks ;)

hi to all the newbies be they lurkers or posters....
The depression theme is quite a big one on this thread. it sounds like the majority of us have it, had it or gone through it with others... but we are stronger people for having been at the bottom and as we slowly clean each window pane (one per hour, SoWorried?) and look out into the world we know where we've come from and where we're headed.

the ONE piece of advice EVERYONE gives on here and I always remind myself is baby steps... it didn't get this bad overnight (although if you'd met my two sons you'd think otherwise - lolz) so expecting it to magically be excellent overnight is unrealistic and you should stop beating yourself up over it.

Ok so what's happened since I last posted is... doen two job interviews, got a second interview for the one I really want :j
Went for trawl around local charity shop haven to get clothes for children who are off adventuring next week and week after (almost entirely for DS#2 who has shot up in the last month or so and doesn't fit any of his clothes!) also managed to go to local garden centre on saturday afternoon with HWTHMBO & DS#1&2 to show HWTHMBO the garden furniture I like. He agreed with me and we bought it there and then for 60% off, it's being delivered on Friday morning :j!
Monday - dropped boys off at adventure week one and came back via "Other CS haven" to see if I can get more stuff for DS#1 - result another laod of clothes i just hope he likes them. checked bay of E sales and gathered together sold items.
Today - stripped boys beds, washed bedding, line dried in between showers, took down bags of clothes for bay of E, remade beds, packed up bay of E sales and took to post office. need to think about what to make for tea tonight - it's just us so we can eat 'grown up food'. need to take photos of clothes for bay of E and list items as I go I suppose is better than doing it turbo lister style.
just rememberred I'd better have a look on John Lewis website and M&S website for school uniform stuff don't want to get caught out like last time with stuff sold out. and I must remember to order DS#1's sports stuff (it was nicked from school 3 weeks before end of term )
    ---
list for later in the week...

Wednesday - garden I think . i have flowery plants to put in front and food plants to put in raised beds. Might go to HWTHMBO's work for lunch with him if weather is good.
Thursday - have to sign on so can go up the city and collect JL + M&S stuff in combined journey.
Friday - wait in for garden furniture to be delivered, collect DS#1 & DS#2 from adventure week 1, wash everything, dry everything and repack them ready for adventure week 2 that starts on saturday afternoon.
just in case you need to know:
HWTHMBO - He Who Thinks He Must Be Obeyed (gained a promotion, we got Civil Partnered Thank you Steinfeld and Keidan)
    DS#1 - my twenty-five-year old son
DS#2 - my twenty -one son

My windows are one of the few clean things. Them and the washing basket are my husbands duties. :)

You have done very well FA. I am going to try and get myself in to the garden tomorrow as well.

    Afternoon Messies.

Can't remember all I read, but Isis, I'm so sorry that your uni is so lacking in sensitivity and sense. DD1 is here atm, and she's disgusted at the way you've been dealt with. As I said, that's definitely NOT the way Portsmouth would have dealt with it and, of course, as you say, the uni doesn't get paid if you don't resit. Crazy.

FA, well done with the interviews. When is the second one, then we can send 'good vibes' when it happens. You've been very busy, too.

As I said, DD1 is staying for a couple of days, so we've been out and about, and I've done very little. I woke the duster up again, and did the LR, watered the conservatory plants, and sorted yesterday's washing. Oh, and deadheaded some rose bushes and picked some rapsberries. We're out at the local pub for dinner tonight.
