bear - really can't thank you enough, lots to think about there xxx thanks soworried - surviving :)

no response from delivery people, still feeling awful with the cold, and just got up, reconnected WM hose so I could empty the sink - at which point I discovered that the entire fitting of drainage pipes under the sink has come completely away from the underside of the plughole. Cue loads of water gushing out which I really cba clearing up tonight.

Pfft - I usually cope quite well mentally with these little domestic "disasters" - oh well, plumber tomorrow, and hopefully I'll be feeling a little more with it and able to reply to people properly.:o

    hugs all xxx

I can't, I've got nothing to say :( Just "thanking" so it doesn't look like I'm sneaking around but sorry if that's a bit mean or nosey.

Noooooo! Polly read and lurk all you like! I often read without posting, lots of us do. I read the "tougher times" thread every day but hardly ever post... lurking is perfectly acceptable! It's lovely to know you're there.

  • Having removed the majority of sugar from my keyboard (top tip - don't eat a bag of fruit pastilles over the computer) I come back and, well, what a lot I've missed in a few days. Loads of new people on and so much happening!

Cat, has your washer been delivered yet? Can you name and shame on here?

I'm in a much calmer place at the moment and I had a wee chuckle to myself when I read
'depression is an invisible window that sometimes i look through see life going on'
and added to myself 'another window that needs cleaning' One track mind at the moment, I just hope I can hang on to this motivated state for a while longer.

I've been full of busy and now have a pile of stuff allocated to carboot but DH keeps cluttering my clear surfaces. At the moment I'm simply clearing them again but how long before I throw in the towel or lose my rag with him. I'm chipping away at the mess upstairs too. Decided today it may be a plan to wash the carpets when they are fully exposed. Does anybody have any advice which machines to go for or avoid?

Have washed, ironed DH work clothes, made lunch, washed up, put away dried washing, cleaned out a shelf of kitchen cupboard, made dinner, washed up again and wiped down worktop and hob. Still need to clear worktop on opposite side but another day. Have also given bathroom a quick going over and sorted some paperwork. Now I'm off for a hot bath in my tidy bathroom.

Of course it is not, just read if that is what you like to do but we are here if you would like to join in or even just have a moan or a gossip. x :)

Cat, stay strong, hopefully most of the water will have evaporated over night. x :D On a positive note it will clean the floor. :p

    Buttercup, well done. :T

Hi kraftycat, enjoy your holiday. :j

1st hour today I have put the recycling bins out to be emptyied and attempted to put the gardening waste one out but it was too heavy so I have had to wake my husband to do it for me. Bless him he was having a very rare lie in as well. Now I'm having a coffee. :)
2nd hour, settee cushions plumpt and straightened, all house plants watered.
3rd hour, brought the recycling bins in.
4th hour, sorted out the outside freezer to make sure it stays closed properly. We have far to much food.
5th hour, dishes done, worktops cleaned, hob cleaned.
6th hour, bed made and curtains opened.

It is lovely and sunny here in the North East. :)

Morning messies - dismal rainy day here so I'm having a natural history day with my DVDs until the showjumping is on this afternoon.

I might go for a short walk, rain or not, just to get off my backside and if I get really overexcited I might just do some housework!
