Bobble hat your making me dizzy with all the work you have done. Well done. Also everyone who has been beavering away.
Cat hope you sort things out with dd and well done for dealing with your mum.
Update on idiot and the wardrobes. He is now blaming the removal guys and saying he is going to seek damages. Phoned the removal guy to inform him of the situation. Removal guy then tells me that when he returned the wardrobes he pointed out the woodworm to the seller. Also the seller tried to get out of paying for the return of the wardrobes. Said he had no money on him. The removal guys took him to a cash point, lol.
Tell you what I;m boiling hot . Shower soon.
All Iv done is wash the dishes and put some washing in the washer.
Emm your dinner sounds lovely.
Ill pop in later.0 -
Although I did have to tell her I was hanging up because I wasn't going to continue the "discussion" (she will go on - and on - and on - and on - and on).
Well done Cat - definitely the right thing to do - you have got enough on your plate. Just when you were feeling better about stuff someone goes a throws a spanner in the works, always the way isnt it?
Buttercup sorry to hear you have been poorly - my DS has crohns too and he sometimes says his mind says yes but his body says no!
Our new doggie is lovely and we all adore him. He is next to me on the sofa with his head on my knee as I type! The only problem so far is that he is a pest when we are trying to eat but I am sure we can sort this one. Not sure what will happen when we try to go to bed tonight because we shut him in the utility room while we had our tea and he whimpered until we let him out!
Well done on all the achievements - some good decluttering going on! My housework has slipped this week but the sun in shining so who cares?
And Emm - sweet potatoes and curry - heaven!!!!0 -
i have a confession......... ive added yet another toy to my messy collection lol
Alec Eiffel my hubby hates ladders too, so much so he's bring the HUGE hedge down to a level he doesn't need to use a ladder to cut it.
inwas out shopping yesterday and found an ice cream maker in aldi..... i jsut coudlnt resit :-s lol really need my parents to get back off holiday (they olny went today lol) so we can remove the small sink and put up shelves in the cupboard (old toilet, but no toilet in there for about 4 years now!)under the stairs, prefect shortage place :-)
any way blimy cat you need to just stay strong against your mum! luckily my mum and mother in law don't interfere as MIL said we've had more kids then her so she has no right to tell us how to raise that many lol
the evil word decorating has reared its ugly head :-s i know it needs doing but its sooooooooooooo boring but front room is going to be done before we get the new sofas planned
and of course the garden of dooooooooooom still needs working on and thats a huge handfulI love War Of The Worlds:heart2:

Snookey, that man is definitely not to be trusted, is he? At least you now have a sort of back-up, with the removal people having problems with him, too.0 -

Good morning all
Thanks for the good wishes. Eyes are currently fine, drugs not a problem and damage was caused byearlier inflammation long gone. I’lllive with that. I’m one of those peoplewho always ‘look’ well, no matter what. Somepeople refuse to believe I’m ill at all which is really irritating! Many years ago, a doctor suggested it wasmore a mental problem – the following month, same doctor rang me to request Icome into hospital the same day because I needed surgery. I was so emaciated I had to be drip fed toget me up to operating weight!
AE You’ve only lived there two years. I haven’t decorated top floor for over 10years. Are you sure the paint was originallymagnolia rather than aged white? Iforget I’m up a ladder and step backwards to check my work; that rattles the bonesa bit. When I first decorated my bedroomI discovered the room was about an inch wider than first thought. It was like an archaeological dig removinglayers of wallpaper. Quite fun guessingthe ‘period’ 80s, 70s, etc. but I was astonished when I exposed sometartan. Tartan wallpaper in a bedroom!! No. There was a hole in the wall which hadbeen covered with cardboard from a shortbread box.
My first pet was a long haired dutch rabbit. He could give a nasty nip if he wanted butwas really good with me so I had to hold him while he was groomed. One day he escaped his hutch and a neighbourshouted that our dog had escaped. He didresemble Dougall from Magic Roundabout though.
Emm Hope nothing serious with OH. Sounds like a YS cooking extravaganza. Do you remember to use the stuff you freeze? When I manage to freeze leftover food itsomehow burrows to the bottom of the freezer and isn’t discovered for at leasta year. Any tips appreciated.
Cat I admire your strength to be firm with family. I usually bow to pressure to keep the peaceand beat myself up for my weakness. Anychance DD will help you?
Bearcub, now you’ve tidied yourself do you feel bettermotivated to deal with home? I’m scaredof hairdressers! Some folk love to goand I’d rather clean the house, lol.
Bobble hat. You areMEGA. Can I borrow your DH? Mine is definitely not handy, barelydomesticated. It took more than twentyyears for him to understand flushing does not constitute cleaning the toilet.
Soworried, are youhaving a contemplation day? Glad you’restill around
Snookey, is the seller trying to say the woodworm came fromthe removal firm?
YL, how was your first night with new arrival? Have you named him yet? You are temporarilyexcused housework while you settle him in.
Isis, tackle a bit of the garden of doom while the weather’sgood. You could get some ice cream onthe go as a reward. I’d love to know ifyou get some good recipes.
Gilly, sounds quite busy, hope all goes to plan.
I’m off to market then drop off at charity shop beforecollecting DGS for afternoon.

Hi messies, thanks as always for all the support. Here is an example of my mum - when DD1 was about 14 she hit me (not the only time it's happened). At that time mum gave her pocket money to go out at the weekend, naturally I told her not to give it that weekend because of what had happened. Her response? "Well, she's done nothing to me". And she gave her it!!:mad: And that's what I've been up against since DD1 started being very difficult aged 4 - all to "keep the peace".If I told DD1 off, she'd just phone gran who'd drop everything and come and get her. I've tried - my dad has tried - but she just won't listen to anyone:mad:
YL aww great to hear you sound so happy with your new dog! How's DS?
x Funnily enough, DD1 has spent the week with her friend's new Jack Russell puppy and has decided she really wants one, I'm actually quite happy to have a dog here but doing some research it seems Jacks aren't great for people with asthma - although DS didn't test positive for fur allergy, I'm still not keen to take the risk. It's something I've given quite a bit of thought to, but I'd written off the idea until DS leaves home. Will have to do some more thinking and research.
soworried hope you're feeling better today x Even if you haven't done anything it's good to come on here and have a moan or just a chat
x
Sorry I just can't remember what everyone has been saying - I know there have been lots of achievements going on! :T that's a particularly impressive list bobble!!
snookey that seller is a wrong'un!!
Well as promised it's a nice day here and I'm determined to get away for the day. Nobody is keen to come with me though
DD2 said she might but I don't hold out much hope!
Have a good day messies
xx 0 -
Fair enough - very honest of you! :T
Cat, don't let your mother come between you and DD1, which she will by the sound of it, if she has her way. It sounds as if it's a situation she relishes, because it gives her something to think about. Trouble is, while she's apparently telling you how to mend everything, she's causing friction.
Two YS chickens, Emms! That's a pretty good find.
Yes, enjoy the evening sun.
Well, you know if I can be of any help by making folk think "I'm not the only one" or "well, I'm not that bad" then it's not a bad thing!
First coat of the last bit of paint in the living area done. I was very sensible and bought a chocolate bar last night so I can use it as a spur to get it done :j
Hope everyone's having a good day.0 -
