Settling down with a cup of tea after a bitta cleaning and visiting MIL and SIL...
The boyo said he'd clean the sitting room, its still waiting to be done :O
Got all floors done etc.. Must tackle outside tomoro, our garden is horendous!! My stepdad let it go too far out of control so I'm totally unsure where to start. Small steps I think!
There's a little patch of grass I must get cut, it'd be a little sun catcher and perfect spot for a little mini beer/wine garden!094 Sealed pot member! (7) €185 (8) €138 (9) €€250
Saving for our first home!0 -
Small steps are always a good idea, tatabubbly, when you're just starting, and a patch just big enough to sun yourself is a very good idea.

I managed to sweep the kitchen floor - no big deal, just that it's been needing it for a couple of days. I cut some flowers for indoors, and dead headed some plants while I was there. Also repotted some plants that were given to me in the spring, into a bigger pot, and added a couple for colour.0 -
Emm glad your neck is better
How was the curry?
snookey that guy sounds like a right &**!%$!! Such a shame!
No wonder you're fed up!
((hugs))
YL glad you finally know exactly when you can get your new dog! Ignore the doom-and-gloom mongers, some people just can't help themselves!
bear well done with your sorting
welcome tata - oooh a wine garden, sounds fab!
welcome dinx, wow, productive day there!:T
I went shopping with mum today but I ended up not really doing proper shopping because she made me go to a new garden centre first (bought a couple of books:o), then I went into IKEA and bought a 4ft tall Areca Palm. This was a huge mistake because me and plants really don't get along and I've just read that this one needs quite a lot of care. Oh help....
Tonight I've ordered my washer dryer, it'll come on Monday, need to work out how on earth to move the old one to disconnect it now. I really need a big strong man to help me. Any ideas who I can ask....??:p
Speaking of which, DD2 phoned me when I was in the garden centre. A young man (19yo) came to the door trying to get people to sign up to make a direct debit to Oxfam (I've seen the paperwork, it's all legit). They ended up chatting for about half an hour and she's very proud of herself because she plucked up the courage to ask him for his number - and got it! (well - she got A number...). Brave girl, I could never do that!! Nice little confidence boost for her, as she says even if the number isn't his, or he turns out not to be interested, she's still proud of herself for having the courage to ask
I believe.....that it has stopped raining!!:j0 -
Bless her, Cat. As you say, it'll help boost her confidence a bit. And, you never know, it could be the start of something good.
Ah, a special plant that needs special care. Hmm, maybe bit off a bit more than you could chew. Got any good gardening books, or use the internet? My mother brilliant with plants - she can manage to coax any plant to thrive. She's only been in her house since September, and took over a garden that was a bit neglected - the previous owners liked plants, but the wife was ill, and neither of them knew a lot about plants. Mum's got it all looking very pretty and full of flowers. She's 83, but she does love her gardening.

Yorkshirelass- we took on a rescue dog earlier this year, the change in him has been fantastic, he was all skin and bones and terrified of everything to start but he is our little star. If you need any advice please ask, I'll be more than willing to help. I can hear our two snoring so we must have done something right lol
Now let me think what I've done today, yep nothing.
OH on the other hand has cleared out the shed and garage
Done grocery shopping
Cooked tea
Cleaned the oven
He is planning on doing the downstairs housework when he has woken up after his night shift tomorrow0 -
Good morning everybody. I've been MIA coz my Crohn's flared up
and I get associated inflammation in my joints so not capable of much. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak
Today I have to go to the hospital opthalmologist because there's a suspicion the drugs I've been prescribed may have affected my eyes so no driving for 24 hrs. I intend to load the car with charity shop stuff ready to go on Wednesday.
YL - my rescue dog was very nervous when we got her but she never damaged anything that hadn't been given to her. She had a little wee near the front door within minutes of entering the house and that was it. She was a wonderful little thing and is still missed. I wish you much happiness with your new friend.
Hope you all have a good day0 -
Ooooh, I feel for you Buttercup, DH has a chronic bowel disorder and it's so awful when he has a flare up. The flare up itself is one thing but all the associated stuff is bad too, skin trouble, other pain, mouth ulcers and all that stuff. Hope it doesn't last for too long.
More painting for me today *yuk*. It's a big final push to get it all done for this time next week (we're on holiday from August 1st). I have 6m of skirting board, a door frame and a 5m pelmet to do. I could get it all done today but the thought of it just doesn't inspire me at all!
Enjoy your new dog YL, rescue pets can be fantastic. My rabbits are rescues, they were found half starved in the woods where they'd been dumped in their hutch. They hate people (including me!) and aren't cuddle buns like the pets we've had before but after 3 years we can occasionally touch them now and they didn't even bite the vet last time round - although one of them is known as "killer".
Have a good day everyone, enjoy the sun if you have it.0 -
Morning Messies
Nice to see you back buttercup, sorry you've been so poorly though
x
bearcub, yes I've been looking online about my tree!:p To be honest, it doesn't sound THAT difficult to look after, though I've seen some conflicting info on how often to water it ranging from once a week to once a fortnight. And what is a "heavy" watering? How much would that be? My main problem in the past has been forgetting to water things but I shouldn't really be able to forget this, it's big enough! Your mum's garden sounds lovely
alec I hope you find the motivation to finish off your painting
So far today I've only washed a few dishes and put some dried ones away, and cooked breakfast. Weather was quite nice when I got up but by the time I'd got a washing out it would have been raining again so I didn't bother.
Plan for today - hunt for my mojo! It's been missing nearly two weeks now!
Have a good day everyone, looking forward to hearing about the arrival of YL's dog if she gets a chance
