My home is a mess

Hello all.
Isis Black - glad you had a good holiday - we spent a week in Barmouth when the kids were small, and it rained most of the week - 4 kids & 2 damp dogs in a caravan...
Cat - poor youxx! I know it`s probably no help to say crane flies are completely harmless - they are large and noisy rattly things, clumsy nuisances that are attracted to lights- but the adults don`t live long, especially if they get stuck indoors.
SoWorried - you did so well yesterday, that ache is the ache of achievement!! Like what my mum used to call `a Healthy Tired`.
Yorkshirelass - I`m sure your dog will be worth the wait. I remember the trainers thing with my lot - DD now has it with her 2 eldest, but DS`s lass (MY Messy Mare, currently in residence here for a while) is the complete opposite - she`s so ANTI- trendy/brand names, and she`s nearly 13.
Messy Status report -
I`ve done a load of washing up, wiped kitchen tops. That`s all.
Have to nip out to get more milk (DGD is on the milk now, despite me stocking up on the fruit juice cartons) It`s VERY hot & sunny here, and I don`t have a plan for the day....just as well, as I`ve just spent 2 whole hours(!!!) on the phone (my best mate phoned to thank me for her pressie - a bee-hotel) which was lovely...we don`t ring each other that often, because we know it`ll be a long session! It was lovely, anyway.
Have a nice afternoon Messies xx
Drags self off to get milk before shop shuts...0 -
Emm the shops don't shut early now on a Sunday. They will start closing early again in September.£36/£240
£5522
One step must start each journey
One word must start each prayer
One hope will raise our spirits
One touch can show you care0 -
Our local Co op closes at 4pm on Sunday, and most of the other shops are only open in the morning or not at all.
OH bought some raspberries from the Co op today, because he thought they were cheap, and we're not sure we're going to get many off our own canes this year. When I went to freeze them, some were mouldy and some were far too soft to pick up. I had to throw away about a third of them.
I've spent a lot of the afternoon gardening or, in Alan Titchmarsh's words, giving the garden a good dose of looking at. I did bring in the dried washing, and put away some washing-up. I had full intention of colouring my hair this afternoon, but the weather's much too good to spend an hour indoors. It'll have to wait.0 -
Emm that's a perfect description of the little boggers!! Or rather, big boggers! I did read they don't live long indoors - but how long is not long?:rotfl: the worst thing was that when DS went back into the kitchen, after planning his attack, it seemed to have gone. So I sprayed my bedroom with bug spray, shut the door, and that's how I intend to leave it until tomorrow at least
:o thank you for the pm bearcub, one of those will be my next purchase

Today it has been grey, VERY breezy (enough for my window to keep banging open and shut which hasn't happened for months), and showery, though it's been raining solidly for the last hour or two. It's quite muggy though! All in all a rubbish day and I'm very envious of all you down south!:p
DD2 gone out to have a "talk" with one of her closest male friends who she has been having a casual relationship with for months - problem is, she's always felt a LOT more than that for him. He's been going on dates, DD2 heartbroken, not looking forward to her coming in
. You can say what you like to them but you can't stop them falling if they're going to eh?
This is the part of parenting I hate the most
Absolutely no demessying to report - oh, except hoovering the living room.
Hugs all xxx
ps we don't have the same restrictive Sunday trading laws they have in England

Watching your kids trying to deal with relationships can be heartbreaking, can't it, Cat? Our DD2 was with her ex for four and a half years (25 years older than her, a rock musician), but he owed a lot of money to the Inland Revenue. She was managing a pub, and wanted him to sort it all out, but he wouldn't, so she left. This was after we moved here, and she sobbed down the phone to me. Awful.
She now has a lovely, and legal, bf; the ex is now legal and he and DD2 are good friends. Horrible at the time, though.
I saw the weather forecast tonight, and there's a very large band of cloud across your area. Perhaps if we all blow very hard, it'll shift.

:rotfl:oh please do!! Wednesday and Thursday look like they might be reasonable, dry and bright at least, so I have a plan to take myself over to the Isle of Cumbrae. It's just over a 10 mile walk right round the island and I figure I can do that, will be nice to see some countryside and the sea! I'll ask the kids if they want to come with me but I know it'll end up being just me!:)
Oh yes, it's unbearable to see them heartbroken isn't it, I remember a couple of years back when she split with her first boyfriend, that was awful, I actually took the lock off the bathroom door I was so worried about her. And as for DD1s gf passing away, I still cry frequently for her pain. I'm really glad things are working out for your DD2 now. WE know they'll get over things eventually, I know my DD2 will quite probably go through this many times, but there's no use telling them that is there?

I've never heard of the Isle of Cumbrae - will have to look that up. I'm such a southerner. Been to York a couple of times, East Anglia and the Cotswolds, but know very little about northern England and Scotland. I do have a friend, from another forum (we have met a couple of times), who lives on the borders.0

Cat we keep getting big bluebottles that buzz round your head while trying to sleep Iv slapped oh a few times trying to hit it,thats the excuse anyway, lol. Try putting some sticky tape on your light shade as they love the light and will get stuck. Harsh I know.
Talking about shops went to mr t and got loads of stuff for coppers so lots of junk food for the kids. Did get some healthy food so not all lost.
Going to see mummy dearest on the 30th in Northampton and the rest of my relatives who reside there. Hoping the weather holds.

My fella on the other hand has been an angel!! I went out to a carbootsale; he babysat my ds, so I could go have a nice relaxed girly bargain spree with my bessie

I banned him as I was worried what he would think)
