I am very surprised. According to the news only Morrissons weren't taking advantage of the 8 week amnesty. Our shops do.
It worked very well for me and I put that down to the fact that most people did not know the supermarkerts started opening later from yesterday.
Here is what I got at 7pm last night
I just got back from Mr S and Mr T. I have spent £25.81 but I have lots for this amount.
A lettuce and 2 bags of chillis for 1p each.
TTD Mashed maris pipers for 15p
TTD wild venison x 2 for 40p each.
Full cooked chicken for 69p.
Salad bag for 19p.
BBQ ribs down to just 35p.
TTD taglitelle carbonara for 25p.
TTD Pork pappardelle for 40p.
12x mushy peas for 4p each.
Mr T finest gravy for 20p. This was £2 original price, who on earth pays that.
I am very pleased with it all and it will keep us going a while.
Cat, so sorry to here about your daughter. It is good that she confides in you. Give her a big hug x
On the messy front, I did not get much done yesterday. I was so sore with muscles I didn't know I had
1st hour today, cups moved from the front room in to the kitchen. Curtains opened. Kids normally do this but they are still asleep.
2nd hour, Dishes done, hob cleaned, worktops cleaned and slow cooker cleaned out. I made ham and pea soup in it overnight with 3 tins of the 4p musy peas
3rd hour, beds made, all curtains opened all laundry in to basket. My daughter is on emptying the fish tans and cleaning out. Son made me a nice coffee

Great bargains!
Today I am painting again, I am sooooo bored of it now, how people decorate for fun I will never know. I have also changed the sheets and put a load of washing on. The house is surprisingly tidy after a weekend of decorating and jaunting about. I think it's because DH was on cooking and washing up duty. Here's to a good week.0 -
Well done Alec and DH :T
My front room really needs doing but it is just so far away from my capabilities at the minute.
It will look lovely and be worth all your hard work.£36/£240

Morning Messies!
Cat - re Crane flies, we`ve never had one last till the following day, when they get in one evening usually find em dead next day.
Just a quickie, have to take OH in for an important meeting soon. Going to have a last-minute dustbin-filling fling while he`s gone, bins are out but they don`t empty them till around lunchtime.
Kitty - what a lovely chap you`ve found!
Dashing off now, back laters...0 -

Thanks. This might sound daft or like I'm making a big deal out of something small but I see this as the prize for all the decluttering, learning to be tidy, clean and organised. Our previous house was decorated well enough to get it sold but it was far from ideal and certainly not how we wanted it. This house is all us. It's the style we want the colours we want the designs we want and even though we're creeping along and it's taken an age it will be worth it. And even though I am not very good at decorating I am quite proud of myself for doing it. It's one of those things, to most people it's just something that gets done every now and then but to me it's an achievement :j0 -
Morning messies

I think decorating is a HUGE job so well done you alec!:T My place needs repainting desperately but it's such a hassle.....:o
In crane fly news, it's not been spotted again so I guess it must be dead. Stupidly, I don't particularly want to find it dead either - ugh - so I'm hoping they decompose pretty quickly??? Of course, there's always the possibility that he's hiding. Biding his time, lulling me into a false sense of security....
snookey, I'm laughing picturing your poor bewildered DH wondering why he's being slapped :rotfl:
Thanks for good wishes re DD2, she seemed ok when she came back, they had a long talk and decided to just be friends. She insists she's cool with that....:/ He's a lovely guy but I am a bit annoyed with him for leading her on, still, one of his mates apparently had a real go at him for that so I'll not get involved
soworried, great haul!! It's hard to judge when to go to our Mr T on a Sunday because it's a 24/7 one and here, that really means 24/7. Most of the other big supermarkets are open till 7 or 8 on a Sunday.
kitty are you sure your bloke is human???:D:D He sounds a total darling. One day I want one of those! x
morning Emm, busy busy as usual!
Can't even tell you how awful the weather is here today. It's ridiculously bad. No big plans today except for the bubble bath I've just run, and going shopping with mum later.
hugs everyone xxx0 -
Cat - dead crane flies tend to fall apart very quickly, they must be very brittle. You could hoover it up without noticing.... I`m glad your DD seems ok too.
Alec Eiffel - well done on the decorating, sounds like a labour of love and it certainly IS an achievement!
SoWorried - now that`s what I call shopping!
Bearcub - we have a local co-op supermarket just up the road - when they YS stuff the meat & poultry is usually a good bargain but the fruit & veg are minging!
OH is back, meeting was cancelled after all that!
I`ve gathered as much for the bin as I could find, so that`s a plus.
Weather here is dry & roasting, so taking cotton rugs to launderette, they should dry by tonight.
I`m planning a curry for tonight, so might make it early for the flavours to fester.....0 -
Mmm sounds nice Emm, anything like that is always a lot nicer made in advance isn't it?
I often can't resist YS fruit and veg though it's often a waste of the pennies they cost! I did get a punnet of mushrooms for 15p once though and they lasted a good week!
Stupid stupid stupid bubble bath!! I missed lovely parcel postie (early today!), DD2 got the pleasure instead and she isn't even that struck on him. She does agree that he's very smiley though
Still tipping it down.....:( I really must start sorting through the mountain of clean clothes in the kitchen....drags self off to.....make another coffee first...:o0 -
I am not overly keen on Crane Flies but hate spiders. To me all insects are just as bad dead as they are alive and I cant explain that one. We seem to be getting a lot of spiders in the house at the moment, this doesnt normally happen until autumn when the weather starts to turn - maybe they are confused by all the rain!
Waiting for Blue Cross to ring and let me know when we can collect the dog. Have been waiting for them to ring since 10am when the vet was checking him over. God I hate waiting for things to happen! Have tried to ring them but its just going to answer machine. Sigh.
Off to put the ironing away. I am trying to keep busy so at least I am getting some jobs done. I need to cut the grass but dont want to start doing it in case they ring and say we can collect him.0 -
Hello guys,
A little newbie here!
Decided today is the day to start tackling the house I'm in atm. It's my mum and stepdads old house, they are letting me and the boo stay here rent free until January...
Got the kitchen half done, floors need doing and the fridge needs emptied badly!
Then hopefully I can dust the sitting room and bleach down the bathroom! I'd be happy if I got all that done!094 Sealed pot member! (7) €185 (8) €138 (9) €€250
