Alec, you must live near Lytham st Annes do you? It should be very good for your local economy but I wouldn't like the traffic it will create.
I live near the International cricket ground and it is great for the cafes, and the B&Bs but the traffic is a nightmare.£36/£240

I live less than a mile from Royal LSA. It's busy to say the least. We had to go shopping last night and nipped out when McIlroy was on the 16th so we didn't get stuck in traffic! It was pretty busy on the way back, the park and ride buses were packed going back to Blackpool South. Every flat surface that can hold a car is being used as a car park. Our neighbour has rented their house out for the week and gone on holiday, don't blame them. If circumstances were different we'd have done the same.0

Morning all!
I`ve been up early (GP appointment - have to stay off another week, physio referral, no heavy stuff etc.) I have also managed to get Best Friend`s birthday pressie wrapped & posted so she`ll get it on time.
Cat, that feeling you describe I`ve always known as `anti-climax` - you anticipate how good something wished for & looked forward to will make you feel, then when it happens reality falls slightly short. I`m glad to hear that your family situation sounds better - but if it`s anything like my lot, there`s always something- a worry here, a niggle there - staying calm is always the best way through, and it sounds like you`re doing fine! The carpet cleaning sounds great, too, but it`s still YOU doing it and it`s still hard work, so don`t try to do or expect too much in one go. And I far prefer the sound of your `anti-party`, hope it went well.
Sonastin - it`s weird how they often do degree ceremonies so long after the event, but at least that way you get to celebrate twice! Well donex
Gilly - well done for speaking out about your training session! They do usually ask for `feedback` but most folks are a bit too polite I reckon! I hope you feel better today.
Bearcub - `hospital` & `logic` are 2 words that don`t sit happily in the same sentence, in my experience!
CyclingYorkie - welcome. I wish there was a course for training OH`s AND DS`s.
Alec Eiffel - I bought a steam cleaner last year (when DS said he`d do some serious helping IF we got one of those!) DS had one little go with it, I had a few, but to be honest a session with Stardrops and a good scraper seem more effective.
SoWorried, keep up the good work, you`re still inspiring folks.
Hope everyone`s having a reasonable day.
I`m going to potter gently upstairs, try to have a general tidy up there.

I never bought a steam cleaner, by the time I'd saved up for one I'd decluttered and cleaned my house so we spent the money on something fun!0

Afternoon Messies.
Please take it easy, Emms - for your sake, and not that of the NHS! You must be an expert in the non-logic of hospital and the NHS generally.
Soworried, I had to smile at your comment at not doing the insdie of the microwave. As I've said before, my OH is brilliant at cooking and washing-up. He isn't so good at clearing up, which is fair enough - there's no reason why he should do it all. But I do tend to forget to look in the microwave and so, apparently, does he. When I get around to checking, I can guarantee that something has been spilled in there or, even as I found a couple of weeks ago, been left in there. I picked some broad beans at Mum's and, unknown to me, OH had cooked them in the microwave. It never occurred to me, as I don't like them, but 2 days after cooking, I found them in the microwave, gently turning brown.
You have hay in the house, too, do you, Alec? Caged pets of some kind?
Well, it was sunny here, and it was hot while I was poo-clearing in the paddock, but now it's very overcast. And I was going to wash my car; not sure about it now, especially as the weather is forecast to be brilliant in the next couple of days.
This week, we've noticed quite an increase in the number of cars and holidaymakers so, presumably, they've heard the forecast, too. Not sure how the hotels and guest houses have done so far, but I know the campsites have lost a lot of money this year.
At least, the farmers here seem to be coping - just hope the price of hay doesn't end up too high after this year's cutting. I know local fruit and veg has been hit hard. 0 -
Thankyou bearcub, it is nice to know that I'm not the only one with a scary microwave.:rotfl:
Lunch was lovely but it has taken me an hour to get over it to be honest. Then husband says we have to go to another one on Monday £36/£240

I can understand that it must be difficult to be with others outside of the family, for too long, but very well done for not panicking.
I didn't clean my car, but the weather brightened up a bit, and I did some gardening instead. Or, at least, I tied up some pinks that had fallen over, trimmed some branches off a shrub that was stopping us seeing a clematis that is flowering for the second time, hid some containers with dead plants in them, and, big de-messying, swept up all the straw that had accumulated on the patio when OH had cleaned out the piggies' hutch. Took me a while, cos the wind kept blowing it all around - very frustrating. As for indoors, I dusted the lounge, and sorted out the dried washing. I'm out tonight, so that'll be it for today.0 -
Enjoy your night out bearcub.
I'm going to have a vodka as a treat tonight I think.:D£36/£240

Course done and dusted - no idea how I passed the edam but I did - at least that wasn't written in Dutch.
Home now and going to spend some time doing stuff whilst OH watches the golf.0 -
