I agree, I find it so hard to keep up after even a day away! YL you've done really well today, must be a load off your mind and out your garden! I love trips to the tip, so satisfying! Need to do one myself next week
You definitely deserve to relax tonight
sonastic many congrats on your degree :T
Also agree about how this place is so relentlessly nice compared to other parts of the forum
I'm giving myself a wine-flavoured pat on the back
This was unplanned - but to cut a long story short, one of DDs friends isn't going to the party tonight because she doesn't get on with another guest, DD offered not to go but she said no. They had a drink together here, now they're both walking up to the party but I've invited the friend back here unless she finds something better to do! If she comes we're going to have a few drinks and watch some more 3DTV after being impressed but a little frightened by an ostrich head coming towards us:D
eta just had a phone call, the anti-party for notinvitedniks has increased to 3

I've very little idea about other parts of the forum, although I pop into read some threads that seem to be on a subject that interests me, but don't post. DD1 is a regular on one thread and I have, just on the odd occasion, made a comment about something she's said. I think that thread has lots of lovely people, too, as some of them are planning to meet up in September.
YL, it sounds like another of those huge jobs that feel so good when you've finally go it done and dusted. Well, maybe not dusted, just cleared away.
That sounds pretty good, Cat, that your DD is bringing friends back. Situation looking up a bit, huh?
Have just popped outside to pick some flowers, and could hear a thrush calling, and there's a woodpecker nearby - shouting, not drumming. It's a really lovely evening, though not overly warm. It feels almost like summer!0 -
Feel like sh*t today, but hey ho life goes on
Don't think the trainer on my work course was impressed when I told him I wasn't interested as could not see how it could be implemented in my work place. Also some of the course literature was in another language - it was bad enough the course sounded double dutch without printing in it too.
Had sausage , mash and onion gravy for tea.
Walked the puppy
Sorted paperwork
Posted of proof of no claims for car insurance, a cheque to the bank account and a deposit cheque for another wedding item.
Going to do an online shop soon, to get used to doing it for when I have my op - got a date now 29th August, got to be there for 7 am
Why when you go in to hospital for surgery do they make you get up early to stay awake, just to put you to sleep :rotfl:
Speak soon xx0 -

:rotfl: Sorry you feel so rotten today, gilly. Good point about hospital procedure, could never see the logic in it myself.0 -
It feels almost like summer!
sssssssssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhh! don't say it out loud. you might scare it away :rotfl:
OK, so hands up who's kidnapped my OH and left this helpful person in his place. I think I owe the culprit a drink! I sorted laundry this morning and put a load in before work. Hoped OH might remember to hang the load out if it we had a bit where it wasn't raining. Not only did he hang that load out, he did the other load I'd sorted and a load of towels as well. And had them all hung out. And brought back in when it started raining. :T Just finished it all off in the tumbly drier but I was ultimately impressed :j
Can I have a wine-flavoured pat on the back as a reward for finally training OH? :beer:0 -
I was a bit wary about mentioning the s word, sonastin. I feel so sorry for the holiday makers - and the hotel owners.

And yes, you definitely deserve a wine-flavoured pat on the back. :T :beer:0 -

Can you run a course for training other people's OH's? I'm 2 months away from 25 years of marriage...and he's still dreadful...:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Hi everyone Im up really late as I had a lazy day. Nothing different there then.
Cat I know that feeling when everything is going well but your still not 100% happy even though you think you should be. Maybe its because in the back of your mind your worried that the bubble will burst . Just try and enjoy things and pour yourself a large glass of vino.
I love coming on here as its given me a sense of being part of a community. Everyone on here has been genuine and really supportive and it would be nice to meet up one day.
Im on my oh computer as mine has a virus which oh is dealing with. Its a good job he is a computer geek, lol.
Ill keep skimming through the posts in order to catch up although its like tying to catch a moving train.
Kitty so sorry about the dog Its one most painfull episodes in my life when one of my animals has died . At least your pet was loved and wanted.
night everyone.0 -
Snookey that is almost morning not bedtime :rotfl:
Sonastin, well done on your degree :j
Well done Cat on carpet cleaning, that is a very big job :T
1st hour of the hourly challenge today I have moved last nights cups from the front room in to the kitchen and opened the front room curtains. For some reason the kids hadn't this morning. I think they were too busy packing up their laptops and things to take as it is the last day
.
I have also answered emails that I have been putting off.
2nd hour, Dishes done, worktops cleaned, hob washed down. Outside out the microwave cleaned. I'm still building up to the inside :rotfl:
3rd hour, bed made, curtains opened, laundry put in to the basket, bedroom tidied.
4th hour, Ironed clothes plus 1 extra item, showered, hair dried and dressed. My husband has just hoovered the full house from top to bottom
He has a swot analysis to do on a local restaurant and wants me to go with him. Nice free posh lunch but to be honest I would prefer to stay home
5th hour, Bathroom given quick tidy before going out.
I hope everyone is well and manages some demessying today x
On the subject of summer the sun is out here today £36/£240

One hope will raise our spirits

We have blue skies here too at the minute. Despite the terrible summer so far I'm relieved for the hotel owners here as the golf's on this week so everywhere's really busy. I dread to think how tough things would be otherwise!
I'm going to do some more work on the stairs today and clean the living room - there's hay and fur everywhere so everything will look better when it's sorted.
With the things not being as great as we think they're going to be thing, I think, for me at least, it happens because I ascribe other qualities/things to whatever I'm doing/buying. Kind of like if I buy x then y will happen. My biggie was always a steam cleaner, if I had a steam cleaner everywhere would be tidy all the time and things would be beautifully organised so life would be easier and I'd be a better person and be able to cook beautiful meals and serve them on a perfectly set table. Not unless the steam cleaner comes with a free Martha Stewart!
A steam cleaner doesn't even clean things, I clean things using the steam cleaner. Nothing happens without me! That's probably not quite how I meant to say things but in my world it's still early.0
