On monday I gutted the pantry-and got rid of over 200 items into either the bin or CS. :o
On friday I cleaned the cooker hood thing - It was rather desperately in need :o
Saturday I steam cleaned the bathroom :)
Today... I've done nothing apart from empty and refill the DW. :o

    Hi

    Not a bad day here

Had good intentions to do loads this weekend, but mum and dad popped over yesterday and then today we slept in late then accidentally ended up at the pub for a carvery, oops lol

Also been and bought some more plants so just going to watch OH plant them.

Early start tomorrow got to be at the hospital for 9am for 3 appointments, luckily all in the same department

"Bearcub - shame about your photo - I`m not that exited about the Olympics etc., but I do deplore the way some folks just barge in front of everyone else at events where lots of other got there first. I`d be inclined to print out the blurry woman`s photo, enlarge it, and throw darts at it!!"

    :rotfl: Emms!

As far as the grazing piggies are concerned, there are times when they almost disappear in our grass, but they're not the biggest of their type - dainty ladies, they are.

Sorry to hear about your pulled muscle, and I hope it gets better soon. But, of course, there is the silver lining of your DGD helping you out. :T

Well done all those who've done even a little de-messying. I do a minimal amount on Sundays anyway, but today has been exceptionally lacking in clearing/cleaning. I've cleaned the wash basin, and picked flowers and dumped them in a vase (no one could describe it as 'arranging'). I have noticed, though, that OH, while preparing tonight's dinner, has splattered the hob again. Will go and clean that now.
  • i've told the kids that they've got an hour to pick up anything they've left lying around and then i'm going to put it all in a box. When they want any of it back they will have to do a little job/chore to get it!!

    Jx

    Try this :)

Hi, having been away from the thread for what seems like years, decided that clutter wasn't going away, so needed to come back for moral support!

In the interim I have acquired chickens :j:j:j and currently have 2 young chicks as well :).

Still drowning under a sea of paper - recycling once a fortnight does for most of this, but my filing seems to breed in the filing box

OH has also not been well, which has left me further behind with the garden too - lawn is now a hay meadow, and weeds are growing faster than I can keep track.

Did do a run to the dump today, so more mess is going out I have a big birthday next summer and am aiming for a barbecue party for friends and familly IF I can get the house and garden reasonably sorted. So at least have a target to aim for
  • Hi Messies!!

Enlightenment - that's where i got the idea from!! Haha!! It's worked a treat today, my kitchen floor has been swept, the dog has been walked twice, the dirty washing has made it downstairs and there's been a fair bit of hoovering done too!! That gave me time to do all the ironing, sort lunch & supper and make some raspberry buns and some biscuits. :T

    jx
    It's a farmers life for me......:j

    Hi all

Hope you all had good weekends.

I had to tell you all this as it made me crack up :rotfl:

My housemate broke the lock on the washing machine during the week so I spent all yesterday getting a new one sorted out. Found one brought it home and got it all plumbed in :T (without flooding the kitchen like last time). Left the old one on the front lawn and my friend said he would pick it up today

He texted me today and said he was caught up with something else and would pick it up tomorrow.

Got home no washing machine texted my friend saying thanks for doing machine after all. His reply I didn't i'm doing it tomorrow.

So basically while I've been at work someone has taken my old broken washing machine.:rotfl:

Hello Soupdragon, I think you were on here when I first joined in. Sorry things have got a bit over-messy, and that your OH is unwell. I know what you mean about paper multiplying, though. There's just too much paper at large in society these days!

Love the idea of the 'chore box', enlightenment and farmerswife - wish I'd thought about that when my DDs were small.

Faith, that's priceless. Just hope you don't find it dumped back tomorrow!

    Morning :)
I made it through yesterday without a major panic attack or breakdown. The journey there worrying was the worst part.
I had to go back to the car once and just take 20 minutes to myself but that was it, in the full day.:j The kids and husband had a great time and I am pleased that I forced myself to be out for 12 hours and I am not a wreck :T

Buttercup, My two are teens so can go on the rides themselves or with my husband. Just going was a big reward to me :)

Sonastin, Thankyou for your post. I think that the tablets are starting to work now after all these months. That is how I am starting to be able to be tough on myself and make myself fight this thing x

Emm, I hope your muscle is better today. Which one did you pull? x

Enlightment, I love that box but don't think my kids would be keen to do chores to get their dirty laundry or dishes back :rotfl:

Gilly, I'm glad it is working for you as well. No matter how small the task it is a positive step. Give me a shout if you want to do it together x

I haven't started yet today. I am just having a coffee then I will make myself do something small each hour. It will be small though as yesterday has taken it out of me. :o

1st hour, cups moved from front room in to the kitchen, recycling done and ice blocks and cool bag washed out and left to dry.

2nd hour, dishes done except 1 tray which needs to soak. Worktops washed, hob washed. Cool bag and ice blocks put away.

3rd hour, sofas straightened and the tray that was soaking cleaned. 2x waffles with jam on as a treat :)

4th hour, some dry washing folded and some wet washing put to dry.

5th hour, I have made the bed, opened the curtains, put dirty clothes in the basket. Hung the other half of the wet washing to dry.

6th hour, Hall floor, front room and kitchen swept. Kitchen floor beached.

7th hour, outfit plus 1 extra ironed. Yes I am just getting dressed now. (just after 4pm :o)

8th hour, glad that is over, it felt like a marathon today.

Thankyou all for your nice comments and support, it means a lot to me xx

I'm going to treat myself with a whiskey before bed I think. :)
