Well ladies, my house is messier than yours I bet!!

In the middle of some last minute "now or never" redecorating and room shuffling...
Have sliding doors for my bedroom sitting in my hallway, storage shelves in my front room, ALLLLLL the stuff fromthe kids pigsty, aka their bedroom, in my smallest bedroom and upstairs landing...

and the carpet man better come soon to fit the carpet in the kids bedrooom!! Need to get thaty done tonite and the 2 wardrobes from my room, emptied and into the kids room, by 9am tomorrow so the man can come and look at and then hopefully fit my sliding doors tomorrow!!!

Am SOOOOO sick of my house being a mess and me blaming it all on not having 'proper' wardrobes in the kids room and not enough storage space in my room, so it's being sorted out this weekend and by Sunday evening I will have 2 clean, freshly decorated and organised bedrooms - it if blooming well kills me...which it probably will!

Plan is to do a room a weekend, so the living room is on the list for next weekend.

Doesn't help that I am decluttering at the same time....and need to GET RID OF CARP!!!

whoo 1 room almost there , just 1 wall to paper then the new wall unit to go there and the kitchen will be finished.

My grandaughter announced to her grandad that the sink was winking at her. She meant it's all shiny lol. Just need to train em all to keep it like that now.

I sorted the kitchen drawers and threw loads of carp away. why do we need 24 medicine spoons for gods sake. 8 pairs of scissors cos i found all the lost ones lol. chucked loads of cutlery we bought new a while ago and my oh kept the old ones so i chucked them when he wasn't looking. His excuse was the new spoons were too big for his mouth. he wishes well he'll have to use them to stretch his mouth now.

    Quick update.
Shopping. Because the cupboards/fridge are tidy we made a list and stuck to it. Groceries cost half of last weeks bill. Putting away was easier too as fridge still tidy so room for new stuff.

Laundry - washing on line and very little needs to be done. 1st time for so long that there hasn't been a backlog, OH and DD look at me oddly when I demand dirty laundry. :T

Filing. Bought ring binders / lever arch files. One set of bank statements sorted and current years in a file :j with previous years in an archive envelope until I can find out how long I need to keep these (6 years is in my mind - does anyone know for sure?).

Watered greenhouse, resuced baby rabbit from the cat who was not impressed . Baby rabbit was fine, not a mark on it and very lively, so released it safely at the back of the garden (looked well old enough to be out and about). Have no objection to my lot eating these, but this cat just seems to play (it was her that released a baby rat in the living room which ran up the curtains). Lucky I'm not phased by wildlife:)

ETA OH's fave blue and white checked shirt now has little red stains on it due to washing it with a red top, any ideas?

Dr Beckmans rescue remedy ( i think it's called that) from the laundry section of the supermarket. PUt in with affected laundry into washing machine and stain is removed. It has instructions in any case - it worked when I tried it.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Soupdragon, I'm sure iits six years for bank statements. Mine go back to early nineties though. I have just got rid of phone bills, water rates etc from 2005. Have plenty more folders to get through but I am so pleased that I have just been upstairs and finished off the one I started going through earlier.

Those Dr Beckmans things are good. Shame they don't do one for getting stardrops out though.

    'Lo messies one and all,
I see that everyone seems to be getting on with their bits and pieces - putting me to shame me thinks! Who will be graduating to flyladies this month? NOT ME!
I am feeling cold so I will put the heating on later so I am going to do some washings to hang up around the house - unfortunately there is some of the mid week washing still piled on the couch!!! The shame!
OH was off work today so washed the dishes (but didnt think to wipe round or clear the worktops!) - I scrubbed the toilet last night before bed. The whole toilet brush debate is something that I think about but when I bleach the loo I leave the brush in the water so it bleaches too - I only buy ones from the £1 shop so I can replace them a couple of times a year.
I have awhole weeks worth of stuff recorded on the digi box so I am planning on having a commersial break day tomorrow and hope to get all the tidy rooms back ship shape. What I dont understand is how we can possibly be so messy and turn the house into chaos within a few days. Am I doomed?
I am loving reading all the posts on here - and it is nice that we have some chaps with us too. I have lost track of whose names should be added to the front page list if I have missed you off pm me and Ill add.
Anyone got big plans for the weekend?

Well, the washing was done but now there is another pile for tomorrow. I know we need the rain but I hope it has dried up again tomorrow. I really don't want the pile to grow. I don't iron, just what needs to be done when I'm going to wear it. Hubby irons his shirts and DS does his on the vary rare occasions he wears one. Nothing else much gets ironed.

Another file Decluttered. I'm so proud of myself for that. But looking at some of you, you are way ahead of me.

Craftygranny, I'm like you. We have loads of plastic cutlery that I have in the past thought it might be a good idea to keep. Why????
