My home is a mess

I actually got the filing done (well most of it):j:j:j:j:j
Roped OH in to help - so much easier when you have someone to help, and he didn't moan much at all :T
There are now no sad boxes labelled miscellaneous filing, or magazine boxes with papers stuffed in them. Now all I need is an industrial sized shredder to deal with the stuff that's been thrown out so far! (that's before I go through each box and sort out what can be chucked as it's out of date). Heaved a huge sigh of relief when all the boxes went back on the shelf.
Also made home made pizza for dinner and washed up the pans straight away (you are all setting such a good example I am cottoning on to this domestic lark).
There is one domestic task I don't mind and that's hanging clothes out! Was doing this yesterday afternoon in the sunshine with the birds singing and decided that I was quite happy doing this (unlike dusting which is to me like getting a tarantula out of the bath to most people).
Shopping tomorrow, so must check cupboards and fridge so I only buy what I need.
BB I think you have earned a pamper day - chocolate/strawberries & cream plus a magazine/book/dvd put your feet up, nice glass of something and relax. You have earned it just for the brilliant idea of starting this thread for all us poor messies.0 -
Taliamai - stay strong - how old are the older kiddies - could you sit them down and explain to them how you are feeling - I try to do this with mine now and it works [until they need reminding again lol] make sure they clear up their own mess - you didn't do so don't sort it out, I really feel your pain hun and hope things start to improve for you [hug]
Been swimming, decluttered a KfC - how naughty hehe and then cleared away the recycling, rubbish, dish washer on and now waiting for DH to come home
Love and hugs

BB, give OH the loo brush and tell him to clean up his mess. I tell my boys and hubby to clean up if they've made a mess in the loo.
I agree with Soupdragon that you need some pampering.0 -

Thanks hun....my oldest is 8 (almost 9) and he is very much getting the 'kevin' attitude at the moment and my daughter is 4 and follows her big brother like a little sheep....she also seams to be inheriting his attitude!....then i have a 1 year old who is like a walking bomb leaving a trail of mess in her way lol. Ive sat them down and explained it all to them tonight, not sure how much has sunk in but we shall see.
Im now sat in a tidy living room knowing there is no pots or anything to do in the kitchen and all i need to do tomorrow is take a pile of clothes upstairs and put them away in the kids room. So i have managed to chill out a bit, and ive just watched my fave program too (V 2nd series) so its all good!
Well done to all them thats managed to get things organised today...no matter how small the baby step is0 -
Can anyone help with my jumper? How do I get the stardrops stain out of it?
It's an oatmeal colour and 100 percent cotton so I suppose I could try dying it but it looks right for spring, not too heavy and wintery but warm enough for when it is a bit cool first thing and in the evenings. I really don't want to have too declutter it out of the house!Second purse £101/100

Hi everyone. Well I did the kitchen floor and cleaned the bird cage. Floor ruined by muddy dog, mind you I have to take some of the blame as I forgot he was in the yard and it had started to rain. Floor cleaned again by oh.
Had to go to my sons graduation tonight bit of a rush as Id forgotten it was this evening. Due to this have only done the floor and bird cage.
Went into Tesco in Town after the graduation and picked up apple and blackburry pies for 14p each, family size ones. The man in front of me had a gammon joint for 40p! and mince for 13p. You would be amazed how many people dont realise that you can freeze things even if they have the eat now date on.
Taliahamie, hope I spelt it right, I know how you feel . Its frustrating when you have to keep cleaning the same things up over and over again. Sometimes its best just to let them make a mess and tidy when they are in bed. Mind you Im sure by then your knackered.
Im glad to see you have had some time to yourself.
The men and toilet thing,I dont have a scrubbing brush as I think they are unhygenic. In our house anyway as the males would not clean them. I use those disposable wipes.
Anyway night night.0 -
Good morning messies
I have striped my bedding, now in the WMand the bathroom has had a quick clean
Today is another clean others houses day so not a lot going to get done in mine
((hugs)) for those who need them to get them going (and through) today
Im all for inventing a velcro wall and suit for kiddies so you can stick them to it in sight of you and clean without them getting everything out before you finish then you can get done quick with lots of time to play with them after :rotfl:
Hope to catch up laterGetting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing

Morning all,
Yesterday started as a good day, I was a little achy, But after reading the thread with a cuppa, I decided to crack on slowly.
I managed to do the bathroom & bedrooms.
However, Not before I empted the contents of the vacuum down myself
Then, I fell down the stairs injuring my back - Neck :O
Finally if that wasn’t enough, My cat decided she wanted to bring mummy home a half eaten bird.
Today, I’m having a rest & easy day. Only thing left to do, Is empty litter tray & Getting OH work clothes washed once he is home.
It seems yesterday was a nightmare for us all, Hopefully, The sun will shine & we will all get back on track real soon.
Have a good day all, Keep up the baby steps & Good work xxFuture goals:
Become debt free.
Beat Depression.
Be happy & healthy0 -
why the hell do they always do this?:mad:Are bog brushes invisible to them?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:BB, give OH the loo brush and tell him to clean up his mess. I tell my boys and hubby to clean up if they've made a mess in the loo.
I agree with Soupdragon that you need some pampering.
I agree with Gigervamp and candygirl, BB, you should make your OH clean his mess  And you definitely deserve a bit of "me time". Don't push yourself too far if you're feeling ill.
Princess, I hope you're OK after your fall!! Falling down the stairs is a recurring nightmare of mine. Take it easy!!0 -
I had a CBA day yesterday. Managed to wash the cushions but that`s all.
House need vacuuming and dusting. Hopefully I may feel like doing it after work.
Don`t like doing housework at the weekend - seem such a waste of a day off.
Did an online survey yesterday and found I had enough in the pot to claim a voucher. I have ordered a £10 Boots voucher which will come in very handy for a treat.
Also got £10 Cashback from Quidco this week. All comes in very handy.
Have a good day everyone.0
