My home is a mess

Well done, Cat. Little by little, you'll get there. I can imagine it's really, really tough for you just now, but hopefully you'll all be able to talk about it sensibly, eventually. In the meantime, keep going with the de-messying. I hate washing frying pans and meat pans, too.
Hi Emms! I'm sure 'ticking over' is fine while you're on a break. Shame about the pooter going wrong, though.
After the rain yesterday, it's fairly warm and sunny, but very, very windy. I've nearly finished the newsletter, and the next one's not until the end of August, so I get a rest!
Not that it's arduous, just fiddly trying to fit in everything. I must get round to doing some ironing, but I'm out tonight, so might do that tomorrow. Have to put the card stuff away, which I'll do in a while. Also got to sort some washing. Ho hum. 0 -

Hi again!
Cat - Well done for cutting off the `meltdown` like that. There are times when looking back can be good, but this wasn`t one of them.
Bearcub - Ironing? WHY???
Kitty - great to hear from you again, the new man sounds ok to me!
This afternoon, I STILL didn`t get the Urge...weather atrocious, so did a daft thing - went out with OH to see the ducks, etc (there`s a small country park just up the road, reclaimed old colliery flood site, with a bit of managed woodland round the edges. Swans, ducks, coots mostly. ) `Just walking in the rain`, and standing still in it too with binoculars... now have wet coats hanging around and damp trousers, and the car is steaming up because we were dripping by the time we got back to it. And now it`s barely drizzling...
Re charity shop outing yesterday - last year when my best mate came over for a visit she had sudden thing about buying me some flowers, but I managed to stop her, convinced her that I don`t like haviong cut flowers because I feel so shifty when they die & have to be chucked out.
Then in January she sent me a little parcel - some little silk daffs - with a little card saying `you won`t have to chuck these, but you might have to dust them occasionally`. Ever since, I`ve been looking out for a little glass dome to put them in. I FOUND one yesterday!!! It was glued to the wooden stand with some fake rosebuds inside - fortunately, the glue was water soluble (I stood the thing in a dish of hot water) and my little daffs look lovely in it now.
The other item I`m always on the lookout for is audio books - TAPES. I find they help me get to sleep, easy to rewind a bit when I`ve dozed off and wake up again... they`re getting harder and harder to find now. Well yesterday I got LOADS!!! In one shop they were on a bottom shelf, so I sat on the floor with some effort to sort through them...the chap said `are you ok there missis?` and I replied that I was very ok, delighted in fact, but that he might have to help me up again in a bit!!
I also picked up a nice orangey rust top, and a long black cotton cardy - the latter is something I`ve been lacking for a while and looking out for, but oddly not able to find in the `new` shops. seen all sorts with embellishments, but I just wanted something really plain. I`m awkward that way...when I know exactly what I want I can never find it.
Also, I nipped into the Body Shop yesterday....
A few years ago they did lovely pong called `Spirit of Moonflower`. This was Me, I loved that stuff. Then they discontinued it. (story of my life, I find some product I will stick with forever and the barstewards stop making it! I think Stardrops is the only exception...OH NO! What have I done!? Don`t tell them I like Stardrops or that`ll go too!)
Anyhow, I still have the vague hope that they`ll come up with something similar by another name - so every now & then I go and sniff & squirt the tester bottles, like I did yesterday. No Joy, I`m afraid. I tried a bit of everything, didn`t like any of it, and left without spending ... I smelled dreadful when I got home, too, had a shower & put my top in the wash. Maybe it was the mix of the various pongs together, but none of it was remotely `nice`to my olfactory senses. Hope I haven`t offended anyone by the way, I`m sure lots of folks smell lovely who shop there, and it must be just me that`s awkward...
IF there`s anyone who was familiar with the Moonflower stuff & knows of something else that`s really similar, I`d love to know about it!0 -

:jkitty! I did guess though - might have had something to do with all your smiley FB statuses this week
He sounds really nice!
snookey, hope your DD had a nice time, bet she's tired!
bearcub I really should iron too - I'm seriously considering sending some of it out to be done just to start with a clean slate.
Emm, I've been googling and it's really hard to find suggestions for something similar to SoM - all I've come up with are "Daisy" by Marc Jacobs - not very:money: and DKNY Be Delicious. I know there's a thread about this sort of thing on the Fashion, Beauty and Health board, might be worth asking there if you haven't already?
Laurel!!!!:T:T:T:T:T:T
Had to have a disco nap earlier - been doing that every day this week

Talking of disco naps - where is Rummer? and helen jelly?

wow snookey, busy day!!:T
Well I've cleared the top of the printer - things to be filed/binned/recycled. It must have taken me all of ....ooooh.....two minutes?? Probably less!!:o Now I'll need to learn how to use the scanner function!
Just the bath to do, then that's today's jobs done. I've just cracked open a can of cider though - first time I've felt like having a drink for 3 weeks - and will probably end up playing darts with DS when footie is finished
eta bath done, dishes done, washing hung up to dry. Now to make tomorrow's list....0
