  • Hi Messies!

    Hope you are all ok.

I took the pup for the snip at the vets this morning, he got his pre-med and the vet realised that he only has 1 testicle at the moment so he has to wait for a few more weeks to see if it makes an appearance! At least he had a nice snooze at the vets this morning!! :p
When i got home i made a batch of biscuits, not buying choccy biccies is working really well at the moment and i've got the hang of the biccy recipes so it doesnt take long to knock a batch up. Then i cleaned the bathroom from top to bottom.
I'm now having a sit down for half an hour before i tackle the kitchen.............

    It's a farmers life for me......:j

sonastin I think I smoke the cheapest mingiest ones there are already:rotfl::rotfl: I'm so unfussy when it comes to cigarettes, I really don't taste anything. I might get some duty free ones next week too - they're very mild and I get through them really quickly - but at least it saves some money! I'm not going to try and give up again yet because giving up is stressful at the best of times - don't need it - as long as I cut down substantially and use my inhalator more I'll be ok :)

I should never, ever be allowed in Home Bargains. Came home with bags of cleaning stuff (WHY???) including a new mop and broom, new toilet brush, storage boxes, radiator airers, food and a new frying pan. Fortunately I'm coming into a small amount of money soon - and all this came off that - over £100:eek::eek: Oh, and they didn't even have the vacuum storage bags so I've ordered some from Mr A to pick up in store:o

Have done little since getting home apart from unpacking all the bags, making dinner, doing some dishes and making up a couple of the boxes.

Frugal I thought I'd have a little look back at that photo album I showed you a few months back - you know the one!!! I was a little heartened to realise that even though the worst areas - living room/my bedroom/bathroom have changed little, the kitchen and hall are better than they were then - would only take a few days for them to get back to that state though:rotfl:

Still no word from DD2 :(

    Hugs all xxx

Cat, I've never smoked but, from DD2's experience, don't give up smoking atm - anymore than you have to, anyway. Only when you know that you're 'on the up', start giving up. DD2 actually found that, as her depression receded, she was finding that the cigs made her feel sick. It may have been due to the meds she was on, but she cut down so that she'd only have one when she had a drink at the pub. She's now given up altogether. You cannot cope with too much change in your life all at once.

Farmerswife, poor pup, but at least he didn't know what he was there for! I used to love making biccies - hate cooking generally - but we don't have them in the house unless we're entertaining. Unfortunately, OH is totally incapable of eating less than half a packet at a time, so I'd hate to think how many homemade ones he'd eat in one go.

De-messying chez bearcub? Made a loaf in the BM, did one wash in the WM, and cleaned the bathroom. I had a friend coming round this afternoon to help sort out some summer services. I vacuumed the porch, kitchen and lounge, put the papers and mags in the rack, and (confession time!) stashed my card-making stuff under the sofa bed in this room. :o Well, it needed to be out of the way, and I need to use it this evening. What's a girl supposed to do?

Cat, just by the way, if DD2's maintenance was set up via legal channels eg court/solicitor, I'm pretty sure she's not entitled to take it for herself. It's supposed to be used for her benefit by her legal guardian, not herself, I thought.

thanks bearcub, it's a private arrangement since the law changed :)

Have just put DD1's stuff which was covering the coffee table into a box, and discovered a folder full of what looks like ancient paperwork belonging to me. Off to the shredder! :)

ooooh just had to share this - during a break from de-cluttering (honest guv!;)) I was faffing about online and discovered a DVD I must have!

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Halcyon-River-Diaries-Series-DVD/dp/B004C04GPO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1340223803&sr=8-1

I don't know if anyone else has seen the series on TV, but if you haven't I can't recommend it highly enough. I absolutely LOVED it even though, despite loving the countryside, wildlife programmes aren't really my thing. It would be a brilliant series to watch with kids too :)

Oh well, no rest for the wicked. I think I'll declutter the cupboard under the sink now to make room for the new cleaning stuff :o

I watched most of that series, Cat. Lovely family, wonderful filming. I live in the countryside, and love wildlfie, but I rarely watch wildlife prorammes, I don't know what it is about them (although Chris Packham has something to do with it!), but I find most of them boring. The wildlife's fine, it's the presenters I have problems with!

    lol@Chris Packham!!:D

I agree, I find most of them boring too but HRD was just captivating, I didn't see it when it was first broadcast but came across it on either Blighty or Eden channel. I want Phillipa Forrester's life!! :D
