thanks bearcub :) I'm pretty sure things can be sorted with DD2 - DD1, not so sure. There is a lot of background there and things I should have worked harder to sort out - let's just say I did take her to a child psychologist when she was about 9 or 10 but gave up when she lied through the whole session. Entirely my fault. Stuck my head in the sand and hoped it would go away, to an extent it did improve but not enough. I have my own ideas as to why they both respect me so little. Also my mum has to take some responsiblility for undermining my authority constantly - now, I don't think she will, so what I mean is, I have to accept what she did ( which she did to "keep the peace" according to her) and find a way of undoing that damage as well as what I caused myself. Wow - lots to sort out! I hope one day to be able to persuade all of them to do some family counselling but I don't hold out much hope.

Oh I love cheesecake so much, can eat a whole one myself in an evening! And then have the cheek to complain that I'm overweight! :D:D

I love kidney beans but hate chick peas after an allergic reaction 25 years ago - to this day I'm still not sure if I'm allergic to chick peas, or whether there was something nutty in the recipe, but they're easily avoided. :) Talking of pulses, I still have a tin of green lentils in the cupboard looking accusingly at me - I'm thinking a sort of lentil chilli/casserole?? - made one before with dried red lentils so I guess it would be ok??? :/

Nearly finished doing the pc desk :) I need to get an 8-point multi-socket though, so I'll be able to get all the cables out the way. I hate cables, they are one of the many banes of my life:rotfl:

Mum is giving me a knicker-knacker (!) aka smalls hanger tomorrow as she has a spare one, and I'm hoping my vacuum bags will be ready to collect at Mr A.

I know I'm doing bits and bobs but I'm also aware that I'm putting off the things I really don't want to do, like the mountains of clothes in my room, and the living room. Really tiny baby steps required with those two things!:o

I cannot BELIEVE it's 7pm!!! Where did the day go???

eta right, half time in the football is the time to do the 15 minute clothes sorting, I've decided!! :)

Don't ask me about cooking, Cat, I haven't cooked a meal for more than 10 years, as OH does all our cooking. I make the occasional cheesecake, buns for Easter, cakes and mincepies at Christmas, and occasionally jam - all the bad for you stuff. :rotfl:

My MiL tried to undermine us when our girls were very young, but OH put her straight. I was very fond of her, but I hated the way that we'd tell the girls one thing, and MiL would say it didn't matter.

It's odd what you say about your DD1. Our DD1 and I were talking on the phone one day, when she said something about her sister not being able to help her depression (can't remember what led up to this), because it runs in the family. Now, apart from the short 'session' I had, I can't think of anyone else in the family who's had depression, unless she meant my sister, but DD1 hasn't seen her aunt for more than 20 years, and as far as our DDs are concerned, my sister was just 'difficult'. Maybe DD1 is right. My sister and I haven't spoken to each other for years (her choice), and now she won't speak to Mum, either. Families, huh?

That's such a shame about you and your sister bearcub :( I do think you are one of the nicest people I've ever come across, in fact if anyone has ever read the Agatha Raisin books, you put me very much in mind of Mrs Bloxby :) Who is a very nice person btw!!:D

DD1 - I am pretty sure it was ODD she had - but there was a trigger if my feeling is right. Muffinman I'm sure will know about this as her son has CD if I remember rightly. I've always thought my family was pretty straightforward and easy really, and compared to some of the awful things I read on here esp on the Relationships board, I still do! :) But yes - the psych asked me about my mum when I was there - now my mum is a nice person and I said so - but there are issues - she's never been diagnosed with anything like depression - but I have definitely inherited the worst traits of both my parents and magnified them in myself it seems!

I have to say I'm going to sign out of here soon, 10 minutes till half time so I'll do some of those clothes, then I'd better go because I've had 2 glasses of red wine and as I haven't drunk for a good few weeks, it seems to be going to my head rather quickly!!! And knowing how I can ramble on at the best of times......:p

You say the kindest things, Cat! :o I've read a number of Agatha Riasin books - very easy reading. I don't know about me being 'nice', but I am a very open person, and I am what I am. I like to help where I can, and I'm a very huggy person, too.

I can't drink most red wines - just a couple of sips, and I feel like I've been kicked in the back of my neck.

Farmerswife, I'm intrigued, too, about the menu. Interesting combinatons, maybe? Hope the confirmation goes well tomorrow.

Good idea to teach the kids how to use the WM, snookey, as long as they don't touch the temeprature control. DD2 once showed her ex how to use the WM (not a kid, but not much better than one at times, lovely as he was). He was very pleased with himself, when she came home from work, to find that he'd put stuff in at too high a temperature, and he had to give some of his t-shirts to his 6 year old son! :rotfl:

That makes you nice, bearcub :) Especially the "openess" which I think is mostly what reminds me of Mrs Bloxby :). Yes, Agatha Raisin is very much "comfort reading", it took me a long time to pick one up, just didn't fancy them, but I'm so glad I did! I think I have all but 2 of them now :) Though the latest ones have been a bit unsatisfying, I suppose that happens with most series. Funnily enough I haven't been tempted by any of the Hamish MacBeth books, setting is really important to me in a book and the Cotswolds appeals far more than the Highlands - a poor excuse for a Scot I am!! :)

Re Temp controls on a WM - put it on 4 or 11 or suffer the consequences, that works for my machine/kids lol

    Hi

well I've swept and mopped living room floor, got washing and drying in and put leg of lamb in the oven. Need to get motivated to tackle sorting all the paperwork and then put clothes away.

Thanks to everyone who replied to my post last week
Starting to save £2 coins again, but it is a struggle:rotfl:Not doing very well keep spending them

Hello everyone . I will be making sure that my son has the right temp on the machine. Only because I still buy his clothes, lol.
I cleaned the downstairs again before going to bed. Iv decided that a quick clean and tidy the night before will help keep on top of things. Thats the plan anyway.
Dont know what we are having for tea as nothing taken out of the freezer ie,meat Will probs have pies.
Plan for today is to put the clean washing away and have a sort through of a drawer or corner and get rid of any carp.
    Hugs everyone.
