Afternoon Messies.
Cat, I've not read fiction for months now. Because of my journey into family history last year, I've got into history books atm. Sadly, the family history has been dropped for now. Never been to Scotland, Highlands or otherwise, but I've been to the Cotswolds a couple of times. Lovely (and expensive) area, but I prefer North Devon, and the Island, of course.
Hello again, Millymolly. You sound very motivated atm. I know where to come for a 'push' when I desperately need to clear up.

Have been to my friend's art exhibition.
Have bought a painting :j
Still desperately jealous
Bought paint of my own...for the kitchen. Sigh. :rotfl:import this0 -
Ah, laurel, you could take up painting, Rolf Harris style. Do a picture then, if you don't like it, paint over it!

Good idea about the temp check, snookey. Could get expensive otherwise.
Have finally got around to exercising the duster - it wasn't impressed at being woken from its sleep in the cupboard.
The cheesecake I made last night went down a treat at the church lunch - only brought one slice home, which OH ate. Sorted the washing which dried very nicely in the conservatory, and only one item will need ironing.
I have noticed that the kitchen floor is a tad sticky near the sink, so I'll have to see to that tomorrow.0 -
Hello everyone!
Been to confirmation today, my friend and her daughter we're two of the candidates, it was a lovely service and I was very impressed with the Bishop!! Had a lovely meal out afterwards too so no cooking today!! :j
In answer to your questions regarding the menu i've stuck to the fridge, the first comment from my youngest was 'we are gonna eat a lot of chicken this week', she then went to get her older sister who announced 'its a bit like a cafe in here now'. I then caught them both reading the menu again later on and the youngest whispered 'it hasn't changed, we're going to be eating chicken ALL WEEK! Maybe we could go to Grans?'
They have since asked why i haven't put breakfasts on the menu as well!
Kids!!!
Hopefully the weather will be fair tomorrow and i'll get some washing hung out and i'm hoping to get the kitchen floor mopped ay some point too......
xIt's a farmers life for me......:j0 -
Chicken in every way possible, huh, farmerswife? Or perhaps they'd like to go veggie for a while? Or even hungry.

I'm glad the confirmation service went well. We had a church anniversary service and lunch today - we're 211 years old, oldest Baptist church on the island. Odd when you consider that we're right in the middle of a rural area, surrounded by farmland.
I'm at the local drop-in centre tomorrow morning, serving tea and coffee, so OH will be mucking out two stables, lucky man!

Well we managed to get out of the village on Saturday morning. Went camping in North Wales for the weekend. Came home a couple of hours ago and most of the roads are dry now - couple of puddles left but its all accessible. The house is an absolute sh!thole right now though! Can't put the camping stuff away yet because we need to dry it first so that's all over the place. And OH's idea of packing is to get out everything he owns, stuff what he wants to take into a bag and walk out of the house. So we've come back to the residual mess. Tidying can start tomorrow. I think an early night is in order tonight. The rain on the tent last night was not conducive to a good nights sleep - although the ahem *several* pints of lager did help!0

Morning messies

Farmerswife that made me laugh so much!
bearcub I'm an East/South Devon girl myself, gentler landscapes are my thing
Laurel what is your new painting like? I have a young friend who is just starting to sell some pieces of his work, it wouldn't be to everyone's taste but I think he's fantastic. Can't afford to buy a piece but I do have two he painted me for my birthday last year. They're of trees because he knows I love them, maybe they'll be worth a fortune one day:D
Well done all busy messies
I took the whole day off yesterday, after polishing off the bottle of red and not sleeping particularly well I just couldn't ba doing anything at all except going to Mr A to collect my vacuum storage bags, and having a 2 hour phone chat with my ex sister in law. Felt better after that.
Trying to make up for it today though, lovely morning, up at half 8, had another go at fixing the hoover, washed dishes and swept kitchen floor. Will try and do some more stuff in the next hour because once Wimbledon starts - :j:j:j:j - there's no chance of getting anything done!!
hugs all xxx0 -

Hi all
Haven't been on her much as all hell has broken lose at mine so housework has been last thing on my mind
First our little cat Sophie had to have life saving surgery so she has been very demanding of my time & energy getting her back on form (though I think she is playing up on it lol)
Then we went to a festival for a week. Howevere when I got back for the first time EVER I unpacked and washed everything straight away. It was a proud day :T:j:beer:
Now though my mum is visiting next week  She is a very tidy person (i must take after my dad lol) As I'm working all week doing both my jobs the housework time is very limited. Luckly a friend has a agreed to give me a hand and the housemate is on board to get it sorted too (only cause he is scared of my mum :rotfl:)
Hope you're all ok xxFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0
