My home is a mess

Hello all!!
Well done to all of you that were busy yesterday, i didn't get much done apart from bake some biscuits and do some washing!
Weather here is fabulous today so i'm 'breaking eggs with a stick' and have got washing on line, floors mopped & dogs walked! Now i'm thinking i really need to go food shopping but not sure if Lidl is open on a Sunday?? Will have a look online and decide!
jxIt's a farmers life for me......:j0 -
oooh biscuits! Sling some over this way FW!
My well laid plans got scuppered by the internet this morning; but on the bright side I have plucked up the courage to text evil ex boss and request the p45 that she was going to send me in January. Should be in the post to me tomorrow. Will hopefully be able to get the tax office sorted out then, fingers crossed. I'm gradually growing less frightened of her so that's a good thing - decluttering the mind then this morning
Lovely B and I are taking doggington to the beach later, even though it's a bit of a grotty day. He's promised to treat me to chips too! He's being so supportive at the moment, perhaps because I'm trying not to let the stress of my work situation take over my life. Every day I've been writing in my page a day diary all the positives, negatives, and my anxiety levels. I've also been doing a ta-da list and writing goals for tomorrow and ways that having a break from work will be a positive thing.
Just got to do the floors today and all the essential jobs will be done, so going to take it easy today. Have a great day everyone x

I have just bought a plaque for my mum. She went into service at 14 and worked incredibly long hours and understandably now hates housework.
I thought of this messy thread when I saw it. It says.
If the shelves are dusty
and the pots don't shine
It's because I have better things to do with my time.
And having spent most of the morning on the "quick" visit that my DH wanted to make to a garden centre that then turned into two garden centres my house is still a tip!0 -
Hear hear rosalie! I am studiously ignoring the mess
farmerswife, you're very naughty, because you mentioned home made biscuits and I now have to go and make some!! I shall go MSE on this and use up some walnuts that are getting a bit strong tasting. Choccy walnut biscuits coming up!I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Just fetched the cows in, now i've got to think of something to make for supper......................It's a farmers life for me......:j0 -
They turned out a bit different to what I expected... I had no butter so I used Flora and it's much oil-ier than butter, and no self raising flour so used bread flour with a teaspoon of baking powder. Also had to experiment with cooking them in the halogen oven, as I incinerated the first three in the microwave!
Finally worked out that they only need a minute if they're done in the microwave, and they cool crispy... but if they're done in the halogen oven, they cool to the giant cookie consistency (crispy outside, chewy middle).
Of course all this experimentation means I had to eat quite a few biscuits :cool:I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Did the floors and washing up and finally put the tomato plants that were looking VERY sorry for themselves in the ground. If they survive, I've got 7 tomato plants to harvest from, if they don't they were only a whole pound so it's not much money down the drain. Also bought a mint plant for a pound that was probably overpriced but I really want to make B minted pea soup and those packets of mint from the supermarket seem so pricey for what they are. Mum always used to grow mint when I was little and the smell always makes me smile
Oh and put one exceedingly sorry for itself cucumber plant into the ground too. Just waiting for the immersion to heat now and going to have a long, luscious bath with my kindle

Hi, My name is fuddle and I'm a messy
there, I've said it
I try not to be and my living room/dining room is nearly almost very clean and tidy but the rest of the house lets me down, or I let it down.
So I'd like to join you because it's a constant struggle to keep ontop of it all and very easy for it to spiral out of hand. :eek:0 -
Hi fuddle! Good to see you in messyland :wave:I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.
