Glad your BIL is ok now, and fingers crossed for your date to reschedule! (ohhh, I miss dates...soooo much)
Emm- you must be so proud of your DGD, she sounds ace!
Been to Tesco this morning after a little lay in, and actually managed to keep my cool around there. I'm quite proud of this, I get terrible supermarket rage and I'm sure it's not doing my health any good. Shopping is all put away and I'm currently surveying the house for the next area to tackle. I'll just have to whip some paperwork off the bookcase then that's as tidy as it was when I de-cluttered it last week, so that's good. I must do the clothes I've been promising myself to do - I have far too much slobbing around gear and not nearly enough in the way of nice clothes. Today is a running day too, I'm quite looking forward to doing it again, it's only small accomplishments but I'm getting there. Will be leaping around like a gazelle soon enough! (haha, yeah, right :P)
Have a beautiful day everyonewill see you later!

Howdy messies.
Been to the dump today with a few items I couldn't freecycle. The good news is that I received a free wooden frame for the bathroom, so just need to make it a bit more secure, paint it and get some baskets and that will make the bathroom a bit more presentable.
Cleaned the bathroom while I was waiting for the shower to run hot, takes a few mins. I need to dust the living room but the Taadaa boys have got a new game and woe betide anyone who gets in the way of the tv...! I am considering using this as an excuse to have a doze as I'm feeling pretty knackered...I am 17 + 4 days pregnant, really wish it would just hurry up!! :eek:I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Meh.
Well done all :T
My day is drifting away. I recently found out about a local-ish nursery that grows the plants for the supermarkets *and has an on-site shop* :T Unfortunately, I accepted directions from a non-driver to get there. Cue much driving around in circles :rotfl:. So that was a big chunk of my morning, but I did return with a gorgeous hanging basket, a standard fuchsia, four trays of petunias, two ferns, peas, sweet peas, courgettes, butternut squash, a pumpkin and probably other stuff I can't remember for around £20. I hope that's still a bargain when you take the diesel into account!
Thanks, Em-somebody at work said I had a lovely garden-I laughed and said it had changed *considerably*
Also managed a trip to the CS with four bags of stuff from the toy room. Failed to put a couple of the nicest dressing up outfits on Ebay (i.e. didn't smuggle them past DD fast enough), so need to put those in the loft with the puppets. Supermarket. Gouged the old rawl plugs out of my bathroom wall where the manky cabinet was and filled the holes. I'm still getting used to the extra space-it's amazing how much less cramped it feels in there now.
Visited the Garage of Doom for the stepladder (to gouge out the rawlplugs in the hall where the curtain rail was dropped to fit my new/old red velvet curtain), and was relieved to realise that my inability even to cross the garage threshold was due to the outer packaging for the new bathroom cabinet, which I'd left in there just in case :rotfl:. So, five minutes of stomping later, I do have a pathway through the middle...because, yes, it is so bad that being able to get from one door to another counts as an improvement.
Currently skiving. I should be Ebaying a couple of large items from the garage....off I go.... xximport this0 -
Aw what a lovely post Emm, sounds like you have a really good relationship with her. I could do to borrow her next time I am doing a big batch of pasta sauce!
Thanks for all the kind words. So far so good with DS. He doesnt seem to be any better after the treatment yet but hasnt had any reactions either so thats good. Hard to let him out of my sight at the moment but thats understandable I guess.
Blimey its cold here this today. I sorted out some junk to go to the tip but havent got it any further than the kitchen yet, never mind, there is always tomorrow. Off to make pizza and wedges if the breadmaker has finished doing its stuff. Might even light the fire tonight, it feels more like winter here than May.
Hugs to all who need it, its the weekend, take it easy!0 -

Sods law. Iv just ordered a new washing machine and the old one has decided to work ,after a kick. Mind you its probs only temp. Lets see if it spins.

Yorkshire lass fingers crossed that your sons treatment goes well.
Take care everyone.0 -
Hi Messies!
Buffy - no wonder you`re tired, so much going on! Glad your mum & BIL are doing ok, and good luck on the guinea pig quest tomorrow! (I`ll be in work all day or I`d think of you!)
Yorkshirelass - `so far so good` sounds good.
Re borrowing my DGD - what seemed like `batch-cooking`at the time has All Gone, except for the 2 pork Things that were left! DGD has eaten all the rest of the sauce today - as soup! There were 4 big mugfulls, the first went as `breakfast`, and the last disappeared half an hour ago! In between she`s had her head in a book most of the day (which I`m also quite pleased about, Bless`er!)
Laurel, Taadaa, & MessyMare - sounds like you`ve all done your fair bit for the day, and Cheapskate - just keeping a de-cluttered patch clutter-free is an achievement in itself, I reckon!
Today I have done very little on the Messy front. Most of the day I`ve sat around listening to radio 4 stuff on iplayer
But I`ve not been entirely idle...
I recently treated myself to a big red oblong cast-iron casserole at Aldi`s. Looks like le Creusot stuff but only 30 quid! Base is enamelled inside but lid is also a griddle pan. Felt a bit guilty after buying it, didn`t really NEED it, but today I braced myself & am using it. I`ve put 2 half legs of lamb (whoopsies of course!) a load of spuds and carrots, fresh rosemary & thyme, and half a bottle of white wine in it, and it`s been festering in the oven an hour already.
That`ll do us tonight and tomorrow after work. This time there WILL be leftovers though!
Picking OH up from work at 8, so still time to do some `stuff`.
Now off to -
empty ashes, make fire, shake LR rugs outside & a quick Henry round LR for the dust buffaloes....0 -
Sounds like a great day Emm
I've given up on de-messying - sorted the two vac bags of clothes that were under the bed out, found somebits that I forgot I had, sadly got rid of some bits and bobs that really are never going to fit anymore, and used the space created in the vac bag to store my big heavy jumpers ready for next winter. They've gone back under the bed and a bag of CS bits is in the spare room. I'm planning to get up early tomorrow and add to it while him indoors is in bed - another blitz coming I feel! Going to shift my pile of unread magazines from the spare room into the bedroom so at least they have a chance of being read. Also did my running again today, I'm making great progress there so I'm alwfully proud of myself.
Now I'm just mooching around on here and the BBC Good Food website looking for some inspiration

All Done! Also Henry`d kitchen floor...could do with a mopping but looks a lot better than it did - it`s all Relative, after all!
LR looks ok now, and it didn`t take long So WHY didn`t I do it earlier so I could enjoy slobbing around in a clean-ish room?
Snookey, paw-prints are ok - they sell rugs with paw-print patterns on, and some folks have to BUY them!0
