Just had a very quick skim through, sorry I haven't read up properly yet (will do tomorrow probably).
Welcome to new messies! And welcome back and big hugs to MessyMare, glad to 'see' you again! A couple of years ago I was on that temporary job merry go round and I really do know how you feel... I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you to find a permanent one.
Sorry I haven't had time to read and mention all the posts, I will try to keep up over the weekend!
I feel a bit overwhelmed here too, hoping that a good relax tonight and a lie in will make me feel better.
Buffy best of luck with the dates, brave lass... remember among all those wrong'uns there'll be a right'un! Well, so they say... haven't found mine yet but then I don't date so I'm not likely to!
Emm hope you feel better soon, treat yourself gently. Health workers can be the worst at caring for themselves!I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Hi everybody!
Thanks for the lovely mentions!! I've had a bit of a spurt on today and managed to clear out the conservatory & vax the carpet, i'm well chuffed with myself & mr farmer was very impressed!!!
Tomorrow will be spent watching the kids playing tennis so i won't get any housework done but will hopefully have time to bake!
JxIt's a farmers life for me......:j0 -
Had to wait in for a delivery today which didn't arrive  Doing some accounts for a local charity so got most of that done but all the paperwork will be staying on the dining table until they're finished
Need to get my act together re meal planning - always used to do it and have lots in freezer/cupboards but can't be bothered so end up with sandwiches for lunch and pasta for tea - getting a bit samey.
Delivery now promised before lunch so will try to use the waiting time to get downstairs swept and mopped, do a meal plan and get more done on the accounts. Want to try doing some rustic bread - been watching too much Hairy Bakers Bakeation"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0 -

Welcome to newbie Messies! I'm trotting along fairly nicely on the Messy front, our new recycling system of a huge bin to fill has been a good impetus to declutter.
In limbo land re summer and winter wardrobes though. I find it quite difficult to get rid of clothes, as a young married I had very few and consequently I now have more than enough.
Summer and winter clothes used to hang together all year, that's been impossible for a few years. It's much too cold for the real summer stuff, isn't it (well it is up here).
I enjoy watching hoarder type programmes, it always acts as a good incentive to me so that I don't end up like that.
A few years ago an elderly hoarder in a town I worked in had a house fire and was very lucky to escape with her life. Had the house been conventional, fire services could have dealt with it fairly easily, but they were greatly hampered.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
(it's five dates now......although the last one is a bit weird! in fact the last two are a possibly dates to take a can of mace with you!)
Well I am in bed. emptied the contents of my hand bag........can't move now!!
Got to go to the tip, the charity shop and the hairdressers need to get a move on..........................snore.......................
will report back later....I am sure you will all want to hear my exciting tales!
xxxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
I've stripped the bed and washed the bed linen plus one other load of washing (one lot on line, other is waiting). I've also washed up from last night but the breakfast stuff still needs doing. I've spent the last hour on the internet so must get going again but feel a bit tired.
Probably will have my shower next to wake me up and then will tidy up upstairs and do some ironing.
It's a lovely sunny day although a bit windy. Hope it's nice where you are.0 -
:hello: All
This thread is right up my street! so hope you don't mind me joining in.
My house is a tip .. well to be fair it looks okay to peeps who visit that don't get to look in all the cubby holes, drawers, cupboards and the bedrooms! ... It is driving me mad.
So I am going to use this thread to help me keep on track...
So today I am going to start tackling the pantry.0 -
