My home is a mess

Snookey - hope your OH is okay today. It`s rotten seeing someone you love suffer, especially when you feel some of it could be avoided.
Gilly - re puppy`s chewing - one of the things my friend said on her visit here the other day ` he only tries to chew shoes if someone is wearing them` then quickly added `but I have stopped him wiping his face on visitors now` (her dog is 3, a rescued Very Large crossbreed she took on almost a year ago. It`s the way she says it that makes us laugh, you had to be there)
Lizzieb - well done, sounds like you`re doing pretty well there!
Kitty - rest if you can, Snookey`s quite right. I`m dosing myself too!
Messy status -?
Quite frankly dear Messies, so much NEEDS doing here but I CBA & just don`t feel up to it, yet at the same time the feeling of being at home (despite it`s cos I`m off sick) is pushing at me to do SOMETHING....
so I`ve got a plan -
I will potter at LITTLE patches doing something that will make ME feel better. There`s a small side window I can`t see through, can`t see the windowsill for carp, and the glass ornaments on it are barely visible.
I will tackle that, slowly, even if it takes a couple of DAYS!!!0 -
Take it easy Emm.
JPS love the quilt!
I tell you what.... for a lot of messies, you all seem to be very industrious lately!
I was walking back up the hill from school this morning, feeling really weary (TOTM etc), and thinking I was gonna have a really lazy day cos I really CBA. Decided to weed the driveway in the rain before I even went into the house!
Washed the dishes and wiped round and tidied the kitchen and bathroom. No idea what to cook for dinner and was frustrated at the frozen up freezers, so i have cleared out and cleaned them and and listed the contents of them and the cupboards, so will try to think up a few meals for the next few days.
I just really want to have a wee nap now, but have to go and hang up washing upstairs and prune the raspberries in the garden before someone gets kidnapped by them!!!!
I have just over an hour before going to get LO from school, then my day is gone. It'll be dinner for kids, homework, more homework, tidying, dh in from work looking for a snack. By the time my wee one is in bed, at least I've the Apprentice to look forward to! Sorry, forgive me wittering on.... just feeling tired and demotivated.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

Rosie, well done you!! You`ve done LOADS already (especially as you felt CBA!)
I`ve done the little window/sill/ornaments washed in stardrops & lovely again. Then sat down for a break... need to find the motivation now to put stuff back & find other space for the clutter that`s not going back there!
And think which little patch to tackle next...eventually....0 -
Emm- well done getting your wee windowsill and ornaments done. I didn't get out to the raspberries, cos it started to rain again! And I didn't do a meal plan yet either.
I did make HM pizza for tea. Now doing homework with the kids..... well, sat down here to check in for a mo while wee one does her sums.
I've got the washing hung up and a quick tidy round. That's it for tonight!!! See you all tomorrow if I get time. DH off, so have to look busy!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

New head collar for super strong pup arrived today so two good walks to try it out - he's not that keen but getting used to it and it made a real difference to my enjoyment of the walks. And we'll both sleep well tonight - he's already started :rotfl:
Paperwork arranged on dining table but not done
Cat went AWOL just before booster appointment so rebooked for tomorrow
Still got this evening's washing up to do
A bit of a nothing day really.

Lizzy we use a head collar on our dog, it makes walking him so much easier and stops him pulling..
Went to the ESA the nurse seemed really nice but you never know.
Gilly our dog chews even with bones provided. I guess its a phase they have to go through even though the damage is annoying. Ours has at date done almost a thousend pounds worth in two months. He broke a laptop ,ipad and has chewed variouse other things. Good job we love him.
Iv only managed the tea and some shopping due to the ESA this morning. Ill try to do some house work tommorrow after dogs visit with the vet.
Take care everyone and well done to those who have done housework.0 -
I bought a Halti head collar for my dog Holly as soon as they came on the market, about 25 years ago. They are fantastic. Holly was a wonderful dog, walked beautifully to heel off the lead, but the urge to pull is a really strong one. She was a huge sheepdog, so could pull me over with ease.
She never really liked it, but she had plenty of runs off the lead to make up for wearing it. Head collars are wonderful.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

I think that is often how I feel after doing lots of jobs big or small and not stopping and that horrible feeling of a list running through your head CONSTANTLY and knowing exactly how you going to spend each minute can be exhausting.
I am skimming over everything at the moment ignoring some stuff and letting other things go. Pets have had slighly more attention which is a good. work is emotional..............
I shall try and update properly at the weekend.
just two days eh ladies xxxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Evening Messies.
Since I last posted this afternoon.... had to literally DRAG myself to finish the `little window` job, ie putting the small clutter into a box for future sorting/slinging, then had a chicken stock cube drink & piece of toast, and just ZONKED in armchair till 4pm!!! (I can NEVER do this `disco-nap` thing even if I want to! This is SO not like me at all)
Woke up feeling disorientated..., had slept with mouth open, throat dry & nasty...gargled one soluble paracetamol. Then drank 2 strong coffees, sitting by open back door while the rain poured down.
Felt strangely human again....
Like I could do anything, except I was still all achey all over. Then I thought of BUFFY
( HEY thanks Buffy! XXX)
`powering through` that headache... I re-read that post & then -
as I was achey already I might as well have something to ache about...
All by myself I shifted the dresser, swopped its place with a small solid oak 2-drawer chest, and one armchair, pouffe and the dogbed got swopped around. Lots of huge dust buffaloes revealed & removed...LR looks bigger, cleaner, and I`m wellied now, no more or less achey but HAPPY!!! Did stuff at my own pace, put bin-bags under the dresser & chest to slide across room, no stress or multi-tasking going on like on a work day. This was still `rest`, physical & mental, compared to what I would have been doing at work. Felt ok with that. Felt Quite Good.
Really thought I was `better now` till I picked OH up from work at 8pm, and just talking to him (ie, preparing him for shock of LR when he got home, as I`d moved his chair) I realised I`ve not spoken to anyone today since he went to work this morning except the odd word to Puss or Daftie-dog, and I was just CROAKING again by the time we got home! Am now mute but sleepless due to my afternoon flake-out, but still Happy. LR is nice now.
Daftie-dog is NOT happy. She`s just about blind, but the solid items I`ve moved wouldn`t affect her navigation of LR, and she can smell her bed just a little further from the usual place (you could smell it from outer space 2 days after I`ve washed it!)
Daftie-dog is not happy because Puss is MIFFED!
Catfood pouches were kept in drawer that got moved, Puss knows & loves that drawer. Puss HISSED at the binbags (and me!) like she hisses at Henry Hoover when I started shifting it. Then she swiped at Daftie-dog when they were both in the kitchen, and then she roosted in Daftie`s bed in its new position, just for spite. I gave them both some chicken scraps, and Puss took another swipe at poor old Daftie-dog. Our cat is really not a nice animal, as any small dead rodent found near the back door would testify if it could...
I`ll be off to bed soon, and my old Daftie-dog is coming up with me, with some extra chicken scraps, her own upstairs comfy (& getting smelly) bed, the one room where the Puss is Not Allowed! Justice for my Daftie-dog, albeit late in the day.0 -
Poor daftie dog! Sounds like you really enjoyed your furniture moving. Like the idea of the bin bags underneath.
BTW....... 'dust buffaloes'!!! Love it. Beats my dust bunnies, though to listen to dh sometimes you would think they were flippin buffaloes!
Had a quick tidy today, dinner is in the Sc and going with dh to look at a car for me!! Not holding my breath, as I have been waiting for one for about 6 months!
Need to go now and at least hoover and mop. Have a good day messies.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
