Aww hugs kitty, you didn't just moan, and anyway you are welcome to moan to me anytime! I feel a bit low still, and back to work tomorrow, so I will join you ;)

On the upside, I finished my quilt - the corners aren't perfect and I had to hand quilt instead of machine quilting as I don't have a proper machine foot yet - but it's not bad, I'm really pleased with it. If anyone fancies a look, it's on here:

Hello all, may I join you?

I've looked at the Flyladies and at the Decluttering thread but feel this board is more like me.

I've been on my own plus pets for over a year now and have got into the mindset that until the financial bits are sorted and the house is officially mine (along with the mortgage ) then there's no use trying to improve it. Unfortunately I have let this attitude spread to cleaning and tidying as well! I have made a start but think making myself more accountable by coming on here will be a good thing.

    Today I have:

Decluttered all downstairs floors and swept them
Removed everything I don't use regularly from bathroom and from kitchen counters
Bought compost to pot on my veg plants
Cooked 2 YS chickens, portions in freezer and stock made
Closed the door on my spare room where all the decluttered stuff has been put:eek:
Flyladied sink and counters after tea - kitchen looks lovely now :)
    Got washing up to date

Looking forward to "meeting" you all :)

Welcome LizzyB... I know what you mean about the thread being 'more you' it's more me as well!
JPS the quilt is beautiful, lovely subtle colours. You must be feeling a real sense of achievement.
Not too much tidying went on today, I thought I'd had a good night's sleep but after working for most of the morning (work from home on internet based job) I fell asleep late in the afternoon and was 'out' until 7.30.
Doing the challenge to feed myself for £1 a day this week, I've actually ate more than I usually do today. That probably made me sleepy after lunch - yellow stickered pizza and salad, did 2 of us lunch for a total cost of 30p!!

thank you so much for all the support. I just love this thread. I have sort of sorted things with my friend. I am sure it will be ok. just go to hope for the best.

And Kitty I hope you are doing ok lovely xxx

In other news I had one of my headaches today....I sound like a typical old lady! but any how this came on AFTER I had emptied the entire contents of my wardrobe on to my bed........and started to put together a flat pack cupboard thing.

Suffice to say today was hideous and it took ages for me to do anything cos of the headache. And then in a fit of total insanity.... I decided to move the furniture round as well. I think I just wanted to power through the headache am sick of them stopping me.

Room looks loads better I must say and it feels very nice to be in bed looking round! I can SEE carpet!!! I do have some cupboard and box sorting tho. And no more chest of drawers, was also completely ruthless in the shoe department.......

But it was daft since i only finished a little while ago and need to be up at 6.15.

    oh well

Thanks again for being just brilliant have good Tuesdays all xxxxx
    Nevertheless she persisted.

    Lizzieb - welcome to Messyworld!
JPS - lovely quilt, thanks for showing us.
Buffy - I`m so glad you seem to have sorted things after the row with your friend, hope it`s soon all forgotten.
(((HUGS))) to all who need them.
I`ve read last few days posts and can`t remember all of who posted what, but thanks all. It DOES help, whether we`re sharing a moan or reciting our achievements, you are a brilliant bunch.

I`m all fluey, have been festering with it last few days and working too, but it`s really taken hold now so have gone off `sick`. Guilt trip over that but can`t help it, haven`t felt this rough in ages. Had a flying visit from my Very Best Friend yesterday (lives in Northampton now so rarely meet up, she was visiting parents near here over weekend but I was at work, so she called in yesterday on her way home.) That was brilliant.
LR wasn`t too bad but `messy` thing not an issue with my real friends...
Some folks have a way with words - without trying to be `funny` she had us in stitches, mostly about her dog, and her OH & next doors. I still feel the occasional grin now just thinking back over the conversation!

    Re Frog-Bothering (grass-cutting, etc)
Our grass is too high & uneven to consider mowing. Too wet to get someone to it with industrial strimmer, which is my usual eventual solution every year...after a bit of useless hacking at the worst nettly bits near the washing line with a grass hook... frogs etc are safe here for a while yet!

:D Emm... 'Frog-bothering' - lawnmowing is henceforth called that in my house :D Sorry you're feeling ill, don't go to work when you feel that bad - no one gets any prizes for killing themselves.

Buffy, really glad to hear about the friend :)

Welcome Lizzyb, great to have new messies aboard!

Thanks for the lovely comments about the quilt - it was a super-thrifty one and I hope to make a few more as I use light quilts instead of duvets now. Good luck with that £1 a day challenge McCulloch!

Kitty, hope you're feeling better... hugs all round, take care messies one and all.

Hugs Emm and Kitty. Emm rest or you will be no use to nobody.
Iv cleaned the kitchen well had to scrub it. It was manky with the dog and cats treading mud through and hair. Scrubbed the bathroom with bleach so smells like the baths. Our room cleaned and beds changed. Three loads of washing done.
Going with oh to esa despite doctors request for a home visit. He is in agony everyday and on a cocktail of drugs including morphine and yet they declined the home medical. Dont know how he will be after the taxi journey tomorrow.
    Welcome Lizzi B.

    Morning messies

Didn't get my jobs list completed yesterday - surprise! But did do stuff that wasn't on the list so not too bad.

    Cleaned bathroom
Weeded for an hour - not that you'd notice
Found the cat basket - booster coming up
    Made gloop
    Mended computer power cable
    Put away all dry washing
Cooked a packet of chickpeas and portioned for freezer
Changed throw on settee and washed dirty one

Gilly - puppies are born to chew - give him/her something like rawhide cigars. They take a long time to chew, don't smell or make a mess and will help avoid chewing of your stuff/house. Also very good for their teeth.

Raining again today so the dreaded paperwork is looming  Must get it done and reclaim the dining table!
