Had a half lazy day today. Cooking an Algerian dish for dinner in the SC to begin with but it's made with some dried lamb and makes me want to heave with the smell!
Managed one load of washing which is waiting to be hung up. Baked buns and choc chunk muffins with DD2 and let her loose with her big sister to decorate them
Oh, one thing I was happy with..... yesterday I scrubbed right round the edge of the bath, you know, the bit with the rubbery bit where it meets the wall. Couldn't believe how grimy and mouldy it was once I started to clean it. Did the whole lot with cream cleaner and a toothbrush, and did the taps in the bathroom and kitchen with anti-limescale stuff. Got on hands and knees and cleaned the bathroom floor too and scrubbed the vague tide-mark in the bath. The bathroom is now gleaming and I am determined to keep it like that.
Now going to sit with a cuppa and watch the final of Masterchef New Zealand :-)

Well the new carpet is down and the bedroom looks fantastic. It was really hard work getting everything back in tidily but I am so happy that we have got it done. Its taken us 3 months to get the room sorted because it was a major job and other things have got in the way but its given me a bit of motivation to carry on now.

I am soooo tired this afternoon. DS2 went off on a school trip at 5.45am yesterday and I had to take him to catch the minibus from school. I then spent until 9pm last night tidying and sorting DS1s bedroom - and I think its finally caught up with me.

I may even sneak off for a little nap. Hubby is busy doing some work outside and when he is busy I always feel that I should be doing something too!

Well done you busy messies! I'm having another unproductive day - felt bleurgh after I got up so went back to bed. Will probably do some essential cleaning tomorrow but a major assault on the mess will have to wait till half term (or summer, more likely :o)

The garden isn't much better... I still haven't planted my potatoes, the grass is as high as, well, a cat's eye, and we're still suffering from a serious lack of decent weather. Today isn't too bad but the cold is a bit offputting.

Just to tease me the sun has come out - now I'm wracked with guilt over not trying to mow the lawn! :rotfl:

Yorkshirelass enjoy the new carpet and at least 1 uncluttered tidy room.
Jpscloud My garden is exactly the same as yours. I have a lovely crop of bright yellow dandelions on a lawn which has suddenly decided to grow so tall with all the rain. Having just had 1 dry day in the past 3 weeks, I haven't been able to mow either. weather forecast was for showers today so I didn't do it today, and it has stayed dry!!!

It was lovely to get some washing out on the line yesterday instead of it drying inside. I managed three lots. I've put another load out this morning together with some tights that I've hand washed. Yesterday, I finally moved the boxes of stuff for the car boot out of the house and into the garage.

I will be out all afternoon but the one thing I must do before I go out is sweep up bits from the kitchen floor and mop it. Hopefully, I'll get a bit of ironing done too.

    Have a nice day!

Hi messies, I am a bit better today and making an assault on the garden at least. I've done the washing up and essential cleaning in kitchen and bathroom, and I'm steadily making inroads into the washing pile, but the rest will have to wait.

I'm doing a weird mix of gardening and quilting... when I get knackered cutting the lawn or weeding (pretty quickly as I'm very unfit at the moment) I come in and do a bit of internetting/quilting for a rest.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

I have just been out to mow the grass as it is just vaguely damp today rather than chucking it down!
I managed to mow a peppa pig ball which went pop! And the mower stopped. I bent down to make sure nothing more was stuck in it, and a bloomin big frog crawled out too! I must have mowed it as well! Yikes!!! It just sort of untangled itself, and sort of limped, crawled off into a long bit of grass at the side.I just stood there horrified and apologising to the poor froggie!
Anyhoo, apart from mowing frogs, have done very little. Have to go and do another wee bit outside before making something with rubber chicken for dinner.
Gardening gives a good excuse for not hoovering or mopping floor today. No point if it's gonna get wee bits of grass all over it!

Hope the frog recovers rosie - mower casualties make me feel awful too, I know just what you mean about standing there horrified and apologising :o It's usually a large moth or something with mine.

You are definitely a woman after my own heart re. the mopping as well... I used the same excuse today :D

Well, lawn is done, three loads of washing dry and I'm completely burgerred now - time for some dinner and a bit of serious relaxing
