(Found another dead mouse today, mum screamed cus she thought it was a bit of fluff, picked it up and saw it had legs. She says she wouldnt have screamed if she had realised before she touched it lol)0 -
I would have screamed anyway. I'm a big wuss with rodents.
The kids are never in any doubt when the cat brings me breakfast in bed.:eek:import this0 -
Me too!
Well, rotary clothes line anyway. Did 2 loads of washing yesterday to try it out... then had nowhere to put it all when I had to bring it in once the showers started. Still, its back out there today and hopefully should be dry by now.
Have to be careful when hanging out though - clothes line is in the centre of a muddy circle at the moment so lots of pegs needed and must make sure that I don't throw stuff everywhere as I pull it out of the basket :rotfl:
Is it wrong that I have been with OH for nearly 3 years now and yet I still totally identify with this feeling? I think it was because I was single for so long that it is still more familiar than being in a couple.
The thing that got me through, particularly when I was with those couples who couldn't comprehend why I would be single at my age, was thinking back over the opportunities I'd had to be coupled up - you know all those failed dates and could-have-beens. In all honesty, I was much happier on my own than I ever would have been if I'd settled for one of them. And if OH disappeared out of my life tomorrow, I'd be much happier on my own again than I would replacing him for the sake of being in a couple.
The right person will come along at some point. Just keep doing the things you enjoy doing and maximise your chances of meeting new people - go to the parties with the couples in case there's someone else there you've never met. Enjoy the parties for the sake of the parties, don't mourn the fact that your soulmate isn't there. And if it turns out you never meet the right person, at least you'll have had fun looking. But I'd put money on it happening at some point. It usually does.
Very well put sonastin some words of wisdom here.0 -
Mum still talks about the time she got a whole shilling for shifting a dead mouse for a neighbour lol!0

I like rodents but then Im daft with all animals. Iv caught that many with having cats Iv lost count.
Iv just got back from the hospital where dad had to have another blood test. His notes were missing so it was a merry go round. Nurses were lovely just in the dark over his diagnosies.
Iv had a massive argument with oh as the dog has broken my dd laptop and my I pod . Why do men always blame others instead of taking responsibility. He said that he never gets any sense out of me as he does not have four legs and a fur coat. Might be right,lol.0 -
Hi Ladies (and gents!)
I joined this thread a looong time ago but haven't posted in ages. Anyway, back when I joined, I stumbled across a really useful tip (I can't remember who posted it sorry!), to reduce washing up, only have the amount of plates, cups, cutlery etc that you need, it worked great, I now only have 3 of each and now stay right on top of all my washing up
Soooo I was wondering if anybody else had any great tips like this, for staying on top of the housework?
I think i'm going to do this with my towels and bedding to reduce washing, as I struggle to keep on top of that now :rotfl:
Thanks:heart: Think happy & you'll be happy
I :heart2: my doggies

My best tip, stolen from the fly-scaries is how much you can get done in 15 minutes, if you just set your mind to it.
I've tidied about 4/5 of the livingroom just now that way, just leaves the last corner for tomorrow.0 -

I got a new hoover, its very exciting, no it really is. I keep finding new things I have to do, but will keep making lists.0

Hello messies.
Not been around much - number of things to catch up with, plus we took Mum out for the day yesterday.
Not sure about limiting the number of dishes, bedding etc, hayley. Wouldn't work for us, because what happens if you have visitors?
Adela, a hoover may not be the most exciting news for a lot of people, but it was obviously a great event for you. And you deserve it! <hug>
Kitty, you not doing well? Difficult to get yourself interested in anything, when you're feeling low, isn't it?
Have I been a good messy? No, not really. Have made quite a few cards, made a cheesecake (I don't usually do cooking!) for a 'do' on Saturday, with another to make tomorrow. Have put together this month's newsletter, done some gardening. Oh, and swept the kitchen floor. Not exactly a lot over three days or so, but I'd rather enjoy the weather, frankly!0
