Oh, Cat. Kids can be utterly vile sometimes. :( I've seen it before with children who have lost a parent or sibling. One of the neighbours (baby died at two weeks old) had to send her (primary age) children to school in the next county to give them a fresh start-our local primary is completely ineffective when it comes to bullying. I hope the school is supportive-I know mine would call in the parents for something like this.

Difficult to know what to do about your S's situation, Cat. He doesn't need it, and neither do you. :( Our DD1 was bullied at school, the school wouldn't do anything about it, so I went round and saw the bully's father myself, only because I knew him fairly well. Keep a watchful eye, but don't let it go on too long. At least he has a friend who's aware.

Laurel, dust just gets everywhere, doesn't it? And seems to hang around for weeks, even when you thought you'd got rid of it all. Well done for all the hard work, though.

Laurel that's SO awful, and thanks bearcub xx This was going on before his father died apparently, and reading that I don't know if this is going to make it worse:eek: I heard about this because DS's friend was humming along to the songs, DS saw red (this was day before his dad died) and ended up having a real stand up physical fight with his friend :( - not like him.

They've not spoken since and said friend apparently didn't know about his dad (it was friend's mum I bumped into on Friday who filled me in on all this). Have been a bit worried that when his friends have called round in the last two weeks they've been very - giggly if you know what I mean. It made me uneasy. Think all I can do is speak to the school and make them aware of my concerns :(
  • Hi Messies - (Hugs) to all. just a quickie as DGD is still in residence & we have the Dreaded Sunday evening thing ongoing!
Welcome Purple - I love that bit about rooms `being purpled` (mine is yellow or orange wherever I can get away with it!)
    Rummer, you FlyMessy you!
Laurel - well done on the cupboard door.
Kitty - I`d agree with the lukewarm salty water, but whatever you do do it GENTLY!

Must depart for the dreaded hairbrushing!

Veg plans scuppered again, DDs decided to buy themselves pizza - and DS will only eat carrots so made him stewed steak, carrots and mashed potato. Could only be ar*ed making myself a sandwich. So tomorrow and Tuesday I must use - a butternut squash, baby parsnips, courgettes, sweet potatoes, swede, mushrooms, cauli, carrots.... something roasted I think - but I need inspiration! Also have bought polenta for first time, want to give it a try....have been perusing recipe threads but nothing is jumping out at me :o

I think if the kitchen wasn't a complete bombsite I'd be far more inclined to make something :( Every night I think, right, TOMORROW I will NOT come on the forum until I've got things sorted in there, and it never happens!:) Kicks up the butt more than welcome :D
  • hiya guys

think im gonna give up on the recycling idea, im gonna do recycling and black bags.. they !!!!!!ed if they think im doing food waste as well, it can go in the black bin .. i cant keep rotting food in the kitchen for 2 weeks, wether its in a bin or not, this place bloody stinks :( my kitchen was bad enough in the first place lol, ds doesnt really go out the kitchen ... i dont let him out there at all now since we got all these stupid bins

today ive done nothing ... bathed ds/laid down felt sorry for meself :) lols

gotta do the kitchen tommorow and make cupcakes for friends birthday party on tuesday

    xx
  • Kitty - can`t help wondering if these stitches of your are actually SUPPOSED to start coming out on their own?? I may sound daft, but I don`t recall hearing of folks having stitches REMOVED after stuff like this.... I`ve been lucky having no personal experience of this myself - but I can`t help wondering...I`d advise ringing up first thing and asking a few questions, including whether you might be needing antibiotic cover. Glad to hear you say you`re feeling better though, and meanwhile remember you can`t overdo it on the warm salty rinses, but just don`t lose count and overdo it on the painkillers!

Cat - I do feel for your dilemma with your DS. In my experience All mums except the really Very Stroppy ones are afraid that if they interfere they`ll make matters worse, even when they feel they have no option but to `interfere` - but times have changed now and bullying is not something that should be tolerated. Our local schools now have a `zero tolerance`policy on bullying, and the sooner things are called to a halt the better. My advice would be to contact the school, ask about their policy on bullying, and tell`em what you`ve told us. (the `giggly` thing, and the friend who didn`t know about DS`s dad, may have felt bad when he knew, and told his mum?) I would suggest let the school deal with this one.
Kids CAN be hateful to one another, yes, and they often are, but mostly they can be turned around if the school handles it well.
As for the veg bounty - I often feel overwhelmed by what I`ve bought. Butternut, swede & carrots will keep longer. As you have mentioned roasting, why not roast up the rest with some olive oil/black pepper, and eat some/zap some into soup? Especially as you have one who`ll only eat carrots? My DGD is a right fussy mare, but will eat ANY veg in the form of soup!

Speaking of DGD, hair dry/brushed/plaited. Suppered, and booted off to bed. Twice. And still awake...
OH fed,(whoopsied pork shoulder & HM stuffing, squeaky-fresh cabbage) and off to bed (probably asleep by 9pm) as itomorrow`s his first time getting up at 6am This Year! I`ll be doing the school run, but not working till 1.45. By which time I`ll probably be knackered, as I`ll do some stuff around the house to pass the time! I hate lates, done half a day`s work before I get there! And now I`ve got 3 on the trot! Have cooked (lamb pot roast)for tomorrow night, just needs warming, & steam some sprouts to go with it.

thanks hun, ive run outta pain killers now :( so no chance of that lol ... yeh she said she would use disolvable ones but she didnt have any, so im booked to go back thursday, to have them out. . . maybe she did them loosely so they would unravel .. tbh they dont actually look like theyre holding anything together?? i can still see the holes ... unless they holding together the top of the gum??

im assuming that dentists all have really clean houses , cos theres none on the messies thread :rotfl:

    Morning all

I'm back - been unwell for a few days and I was completely knackered so have done NOTHING. DH has coped admirably but the place is disgusting!! I've sorted the DR so far and I'm about to hit the LR

    Sorry I've forgotten most of what has been said but just wanted to say;
CAT - phone the school, they are obliged to deal with it once they know about it, Duty of Care and school procedures [which they MUST have] come into force, your DS will thank you for it in the long run
KITTY - get to a Doctor or back to the Dentist - that sounds like an infection and they won't be able to remove the stitches if it is infected!

    Watch me flyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope everyone is keeping well and warm and lovely to still see you here Helen :D:D
