Got up. Reluctantly.
Tried to take DD to work. Car won't start. -6C
Presented DD with bus fare. Will try car (diesel) when/if it warms up a bit.
Had a cup of tea to consider options. Cuddled cat.
Feeling carp. Stomach bloated and painful.
Laid newspaper down in hall. Took bl**dy forever, as I'm moving like I'm 80. And unfit.
Having a cup of coffee to consider options. Will probably get changed into painting clothes...umm...soon. After I've considered my options, of course.import this0 -
Sitting picking lumps of paint off my holey old painting trousers. I can only find one shoe...

Jacci - glad your op. is over, I`m sure you`ll be fine now as long as you don`t try to do stuff you shouldn`t with the operated hand and set the healing process back. Don`t be TOO tempted to tidy!
Snookey - happy dog-settling xxx
Cat - glad your leak wasn`t too disastrous after all - your neighbours` lack of response made me chuckle too!
Bearcub - that`s a very useful warning (though doesn`t apply to me) Have you posted it on any other boards here? Might be an idea if you haven`t already.
YL & Laurel - good luck with the decorating efforts....
Kitty - As I read your post my own tongue went automatically rooting around my own dental gap - a large filling went abroad some time ago, but not a twinge so I chose to ingore it - except my tongue won`t!!
Made a BIG chicken & ham & mushroom pie last night, with lovely `squeaky-fresh` green cabbage from FS. pie-dish in the sink now, but I feel it isn`t in a hurry to get out...I cooked the minty lamb shoulder joint too, for today. OH & I are off to the pub in a bit, will do sprouts & roasties & carrot/swede mash later. And maybe wash pie dish too.
I haven`t done any tidying since I tidied LR before the chimney-sweep came yesterday, so it`s not too bad yet. It will get worse before it gets better as we`re leaving DS & DGD here to trash it...!
Have a nice Saturday all!0 -
I'm tired and in CBA mode - anyway it's just started snowing so as everyone knows, it's officially playtime. I'm so lethargic at the moment... my weekend off is not going to result in any major demessying. I have had a look at my patchwork stuff and played around a bit, but feel like going back to bed!
Made some bread and done some washing, but that's it for today.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Hall and downstairs loo ceilings painted. First coat. Now, instead of "job not done", they look mouldy...
In the next hour, I have to get myself looking respectable for an Ebay pickup and the RAC, but I have a fair bit of watered-down paint left and I'm wondering whether I can do/finish my bathroom ceiling as well...
And, as is the way with ceilings, I have a feeling I might look a lot more grey than I did this morning....:pimport this0 -
Afternoon messies.
Laurel and jps, sounds as if you both have the winter blues. It's horrible when you feel like that, isn't it? You cba but, somewhere in your head, you know you'll feel better if you make an effort. It's finding the effort that's the problem.
Emms, I'd not thought of posting the warning elsewhere on OS, as once I start, where do I stop? I've already posted it on FB, and another forum of which I'm a member.
Have spent a couple of hours at the local churchyard, clearing some brambles and holly. Couldn't do much, as the ground is rock hard.0 -
Help!
My house is normally messy, but I've had a really busy few weeks and haven't had a chance to do the basics! I just don't know where to start!0 -
hi all, judging by how i feel my house will be messy for some time to come!!
Happy saturday all...0 -
Oh, Jacci-hope you aren't in too much pain xx
Well, I got a coat on the bathroom ceiling, and the nice man from the RAC sold me a battery he promised was cheaper than Kwik-fit. So...car back on the road and I haven't had to leave the house. Which is definitely a bonus today.
Managed to start another job inbetween things...so I now have a hopefully-soon-to-be-unbroken cupboard door in bits on the table. But I'm shattered, and fed up, and wish I hadn't started it. AndI'd really hoped I'd get to prep the kitchen and utility today...not going to happenimport this0 -
Blue Elephant: try doing something that you'll only have to do once-like throwing something away or putting it in a bag for the charity shop. That always makes me feel as though I've made progress. And try not to measure yourself against an ideal-measure yourself against this morning, or a week ago...whichever makes you look the bestimport this0
