Jacci-glad the pain has eased, and Cat-they will have seen worse xx

Not much help now that downstairs is out, but have they pierced the bubble and put a bucket underneath? It makes a big difference to how likely the ceiling is to come down...

Good to see you back, kitty. Ouch, about the teeth. DD2 has had all her wisdom teeth out, and the first one was by far the worst. You've been very busy, considering all of that. Great shame about the wardrobe. Do you have mould on the wall behind it? Sounds as if you have your priorities right, though, with the heat and food. :)

Snookey, good to hear that the dog's settling. You'll have so much fun with him but, boy, will he need a lot of exercise!

Laurel, I wake up in the mornings (sometimes in the middle of the night, too) balanced on the edge of the bed, while the cat is spread across the bed, snoring in a very unladylike fashion. Can I bear to move her? Of course not. :undecided

Oh I am so not a cat person (that's the animals, not you Cat!)

The only thing you can rely on a cat to do is target the one person in the room that doesn't like cats and make a beeline for them. And if they are allergic, all the more reason to victimise! grrrrrrrrrr! OH loves cats and used to pester me about getting a cat all the time. Then when we moved here and got talking to the neighbours, he found out that the people who used to live here (it was a repossession when we bought) abandoned their cat when the did a moonlight flit. The neighbours had been looking after the cat but OH tried to persuade me that it should come back to live in this house. Until the day after we poured the concrete for his new garage floor... when he woke up to find a perfect set of cat paw prints in his lovely new concrete! Now its only ever referred to as "that blasted cat"

If I could just persuade him to let me have a dog...
  • Good morning Messies.I am still here lurking away in the corner like the new girl at school !! I am still working out who is who. I think I am the messiest though. I tried the timer on for an hour and do as much as I can but I got reading the kids old school reports so that put paid to that.Am going to try again this morning, maybe, NO deffo, this morning ... sometime.... Just one more cup of tea and a lurk round then I will.

    lol sonastin :D

loudmouth - I bet you're not the messiest! I think that's between me and Frugal, and as my house has worsened considerably since we swapped photos a couple of weeks ago, I'm betting I'm well in the lead now:D

Not long up, didn't sleep til about half 5, popping out now to friend's house to properly meet his new gf - yikes - I know she's lovely but I just hate doing things like this....she's so tall and I feel so little and stupid.....daft I know:o

Then back to make tea, I bought so much stuff at Mr A the other day, squash, sweet potatoes, courgettes, oh god so much, and I've got a complete mental block about what to make :(

Plumbing disaster averted I think - it was an internally leaking tap or something. I discovered that the neighbours didn't answer the door because there was a police car outside and they thought it was for them:rotfl:

    Afternoon Messies.

What's a bit of mess between friends, huh? ;)

I'm pleased for you that the leak turned out to be not too bad, Cat. DD1 has had a longterm leak from the wash basin in her bathroom. I think she lost count of the number of times a maintenance man came round to repair it, and didn't.

Sonastin, I know what you mean about cats, and the people they 'pick on'. DD2's ex hated cats, but ours would always rub round his legs. I love dogs, too, and have always wanted a spaniel since I was 7 years old. Thought that once we moved here, with the sea and the countryside, we'd get one, but I think it's unlikely we ever will. I have to make do with the cat, two piggies and two equines. its hard life! ;)

Done nowt today, except catch up with emails.

Warning, if you use BT internet. I received an email today, apparently from BT, asking me to confirm my password. I smelt a rat, and checked our bill, where the email address is slightly different. Called BT and it is indeed a scam. If you receive such an email, you'll notice that the BT and Yahoo logos are slightly blurred. DO NOT click on the link, or your computer will be hacked! BT are trying to deal with the situation.

Must go and sort out some washing for the WM.

Lol, Glad I am not the only one with ... interesting ... neighbours!!
  • Evening all, sounds fairly positive Jacci, keeping my fingers crossed for you. And Cat glad the leak didnt turn out to be too much drama! Love the reason why they didnt answer the door.

Loudmouth, come out of that corner and sit in our little circle of messiness. Doing the timer thing is a good idea. I dont have a paid job and I find I sometimes need something to motivate me!

Kitty, you deserve a bravery award. I hate going to the dentist and I have a mouthful of fillings.

So, I am now feverishly planning the revamp of DS2s bedroom. Being poorly he spends a lot of time in there and it is awful. Made a bit of cash doing some tax returns for a neighbour and I am now determined to make his room really nice. We got some paint on offer in B&Q this aft then had a browse round Wilkinsons at their home stuff. He wants a black/grey/red theme in his room but his furniture is blue so I am wondering if I am brave enough to paint it.

Oh and its absolutely freezing tonight, going to have to leave the heating on or it will freeze up. Dont want to think about how much oil we are using. At least if we get snowed up I will have to get on with some house stuff wont I!
