Hi all - it`s tried to snow here but it`s been coming down more like slushy rain.
Laurel - you`re amazing! Sounds like you`ve had the total share of motivation, while most of the Messies remain rather CBA. (Blue Elephant, don`t despair dear - it might be your turn next!)
Kitty - hope your mouth settles down. Sounds like you`ve been busy there too. I sometimes find the recycling build-up a pain, but I`ve started keeping some in the old wendy-house outside. (I used to keep some logs & firesticks there but now have a proper log-shelter.) Your dinner sounds really yummy...I`d never have thought stilton with sausages but I`m going to pinch that idea for future reference!
Had a lovely afternoon out, since we got home I`ve -
Fed DGD - brown toast with beans/ cheese/olives/basil & tomatoes - bit like a pizza.
Made a fire
peeled a loada spuds, got rest of veg ready in steamer, and washed up. (the Pie-dish gave up without a fight, by the way!)
Just have meat to slice and gravy to make later. Later,0 -
Lots of white fluffy stuff coming down here. Think the kids are going to be sledging tomorrow.
Have finally got curtains up over the patio doors in the lounge. I had to shorten them and decided the best way was to do it from the top. My sewing skills are nothing to write home about but I am pleased with the results, well if you dont look at the back anyway!
Hubby got first coat of paint on one wall in DS bedroom. Looks more blue then grey but it was £15 for a 5 litre tin of Dulux so I am not complaining! Feels like a productive day altogether. Off to see if there is anything on telly now and admire my new curtains!0 -
Kitty, yes, make sure you get a patent on tumbly drying! :T I hope your mouth heals soon, but it's not good that one side of your head is hot. Were you told to rinse with salt water? It keeps infections at bay, and helps heal. do you not have anywhere outside to keep one of the bins? If not, I think you should let the council know, cos you can't have them all inside with a young child about.
Sounds as if you've got your acts together, at least, Emms and YL.
No snow here, not even sleet, just rain. All the previously white rock hard icy ground has turned to sticky mud. Oh, the lads are going to be really dirty tomorrow night, I just know it! :undecided
Have done one load of washing, and printed out some papers needed for a meeting on Tuesday. Have a church banner behind me that needs repairing before tomorrow. Spose I'd better.0 -

 Hi Purple, welcome!
CBA mode lasted all day - I'm in bed now with the lappy and some DVDs!
We didn't get much snow but what we got has stayed - it's very cold again now but I think a bit less cold than last night. It's still hot water bottlesville though.
I'm hoping for a burst of energy and motivation tomorrow... minimum needs to be clean cat tray, 2 or 3 loads of washing and sort out lunches for the week. Evening meals sorted, slow cooker on today.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Hiya Purple! Good to see you. Well done for all the activity today. I get days when I do a fair amount, and other days (like today) when I do very little. I think today was one of the latter. Always tomorrow!
Jps, all seems fair enough to me. I think it's not so cold here now, but it's pouring and very windy. I've loved the last couple of cold bright days. Still this part of the world desperately needs more rain.0 -

The cupboard door turned out to be one of *those* jobs. You know, the ones that seem simple then take ages. But it was on the kitchen table-so it had to be finished. I was standing back and feeling smug when I realised that I'd used the screws that had held the hinge on....:rotfl:
Fortunately, the cupboard doors were a job lot from Ebay, and there's a tin of spare hinges and bits (did I mention I sometimes love being a hoarder?) on a shelf in the garage, so the door is now fixed and back in place. :j
I managed an hour sanding and prepping in the kitchen, but I never quite got around to changing back into my "work " clothes, and the tops of the cupboards are...well, let's just say, I'm not reaching across them in anything I care about.
I'm getting in a silly tizz, because I'd quite like to second coat what I've done while the newspaper is down...but I also want to first-coat everything else while I've got a brush and roller wet with the undercoat...in fact, it doesn't matter what I do, really, as long as I keep chipping away.
However, it's Saturday. Watched a film with DD and DS, and am going to bed. With the electric blanket set to "grill". It's cold tonight!!!
Keep warm, Messies!!!!import this0
