Hi all,arm is feeling so much better today....I feel like a new person and the thought that the tumour is now gone is the best thought!! Back is hurting tho but I know thats because Ive been in bed most of the time since op on Weds so I am now going to get up and lounge on the settee rather than in my bed!!

From a messy point of view I am going to take things easy but as I will be off work for at least another 2 weeks Ive got the luxury of time which is something i dont normally have. So Ive decided Im going to go round the house and put things back where they belong and once Ive done that i can start to do the dreaded cleaning....slowly onwards and upwards....Well we will see how that goes anyway!!

Take care all, hugs to those who need them and happy Monday!!

Helen, glad you're feeling better. I think that men who clear up are a rare breed. Mine does all the cooking, wonderfully, but he rarely clears/cleans up. DR and LR?

Jacci, good to hear your arm's so much better. Just don't be tempeted to overdo things, will ya, especially as you have so much time! :)

    And, hello hart (helen).

Hart - glad to see you back - I've been checking on your blog but kinda thought you might have given it up. Good to see you here

The LR got tidied and hoovered and I also hoovered the Kit, Hall and some of the stairs [hoover too heavy for me today to do more than I could reach]

    Need to go to MrT to get a birthday cake for DS - it was his birthday in November but he's having a party tomorrow night - how much of a bad Mum am I !!!! :{

Bearcub - thanks, my DH does all the cooking too and he'll help out with housework if I ask him too :]

Jacci - glad to hear the arm is better but do take things slowly

Hi Helen. My DH does quite a lot for my mum, so I usually do the housework. Mind you, we're both retired, and live in a very small bungalow. Apart from hay (from mucking out stables), wood shavings (from guinea pigs) and the odd bit of cat litter, we don't have a lot of cleaning to do. The kitchen worktops are altogether a different matter.

Emm, Helen, thanks - he's just come in from school seemingly quite happy so fingers crossed it will all be ok :)

jacci glad you're feeling better hun, and you too Helen xxx

    hart, welcome back!:j

Ah how nice it would be to have someone else here who would cook bearcub!

I've made a start on the kitchen - a very small one I'm afraid to say - took bin bag out and scraped a few plates and pots into the bin. I can't tell you how disgusting it was. Got all the veg out for tea, looked at it, and decided to have a coffee:o

Good news about your DS, Cat. Perhaps his friend felt a bit uncomfortable about his reaction, and something was said between them. Hopefully, it'll be ok.

I don't take DH's cooking for granted - I HATE cooking meals, always have. I used to do it, of course, when he was working fulltime, but he cooked at w/ends. Once he retired, he took over - pretty brave of him, given that our DD2 is a veggie. I'll do any amount of cleaning, for him to continue the cooking!

Oo, was the build up of 'stuff' really that bad? :(;)

Cat, now that you've had your coffee get a roasting tin out shove veg onto it, sprinkle with oil and seasoning and bung in the oven lol, I've no idea what i'm talking about by the way

Been to MrT for some bits, got birthday cake and other stuff

Car is playing up so if you hear lots of swearing tomorrow morning it'll be DH with his head under the bonnet!!

Hi messies! I feel a bit better today, hope it lasts. I must have recharged my batteries over the lazy weekend!

Increasingly heavy fog on the way home, luckily I'm back before it got too bad.

To all recently- and currently- poorly messies, take care of yourselves and don't overdo it.

Cat, that veg is becoming a nemesis! Sometimes I have something like that, that I buy because it's cheap or because I have a particular craving for it... then it lurks in my fridge for aaaaages and sulks mouldily at me every time I open the fridge door. Inevitably I almost always chuck it out (sorry "don't throw food away" challengers!).

I know I could do a dozen things with it, but it just becomes something I don't want to deal with and a source of enormous guilt. Curiously, when I throw it away, the guilt goes with it. I really need to work on my MSE skills in this respect!
