I have scrubbed my kitchen from top to bottom and it is sparkling :D the counters, doors and floor have been polished to perfection and the hob is soaking overnight to be buffed and shined tomorrow!

The rest of the house is ok but will be given the once over tomorrow so that it is finally all in order ;)

lukewarm water, you need to be rinsing, and also can you take paracetamol? Try and bring your fever down. I am with the people who think this doesnt sound good ((

Likewise-Kitty, when I had raging toothache a few weeks ago I found chewing garlic helped...but then I found honey worked better (and was much nicer for people around me, lol). It's a natural antibiotic-put a teaspoon of honey on the wound a few times a day and hold it there as long as you can. I warn you-it stung. But boy, did it work.

And if you haven't already, ring NHS direct. I had a reasonably rough time when my wisdom teeth were removed, but nothing as bad as you're describing xx

    Afternoon messies.

I think you're brilliant, laurel, to even be thinking of doing this renovation-type work.

Kitty, as others have said, lots of rinsing with salt water, and paracetamol then ibuprofen - 2 hour intervals between each if you can. I still think you should contact the council about your bins. Even one of the smaller recycling bins (which I assume you have) can't possibly be kept inside your home, especially when you have a young child! And we wouldn't dream of telling you to be quiet.

Have put away the day before yesterday's washing, and am sorting yesterday's. OH has just split up a monster cauliflower that a friend gave us - one about 8" across, with lots of baby ones around it. That should do quite a few meals! :D

    Hi messies...

Kitty I hope you're ok. I agree you should call NHS direct, it sounds as though your wound is inflamed.

Lazy day here for me, still a little bit in CBA mode but have done most of my weekend chores, so I don't feel too guilty. One more week then it's half term, yippeee! I think I'll be clawing my way there on my hands and knees come Friday, I'm so tired.

Hope all messies are having a good Sunday - you're all very quiet out there!

well my home is still a mess but did manage to chuck out some rubbish from my tip/bedroom and I do believe that will be it for today!!

    Happy sunday all!!
  • Oh Kitty you poor thing that sounds really bad. I think you need medical advice. I remember my Dad having a tooth out once and his mouth got infected, it does sound a bit similar to what you are experiencing. He ended up with strong antibiotics.

Rummer, well done on the kitchen. At least if you get one room looking nice it makes you feel sooo much better.

We have had a about 5 inches of snow and DS1 is out sledging. DS2 came back soaked through and didnt want to go out again. Resisting the urge to do the clucking hen bit and go out and see where he is. Its great that he is out enjoying himself but he is going to be completely wiped out tomorrow.

Making progress with the decorating. Have also put linings up on the kitchen curtains while I had the sewing machine out.

Right off to do a bit more in DS1s bedroom.

oh god, big hugs kitty and jacci and kitty yeah - get that checked out!! :(:(

    welcome purple :)

All pain and exhaustion here is self inflicted I'm afraid - Friday went well, friend's gf is so nice - friend had to be put to bed hammered very early on (men!!!) so me and her sat and had a few drinks and a good chat. She's gone back to Holland today though :( Anyway - of course I ended up taking myself off to the rock club in town.....still recovering.....:o

Must get my act together and do something with all that veg today:o My bank balance can't take another night of uurgh - here, get yourselves a takeaway:o

Well done on everyone's achievements/me-time xxx

eta worried about DS going back to school tomorrow, apparently some boys are being mean to him, making up songs and stuff - heard this from his friend's mum, he won't tell me anything (I'll make it worse apparently). Very upset, he doesn't need that just now :(

    Dust.

Not just ordinary, healthy Messie-dust, but sanding dust. In my hair, in my clothes, in my skin...and all over the house.

Now that the angle of the light has changed, I'm looking at them close up in daylight and I've got paint on a couple of ceilings, I can see that I'm *really* not happy with the finish on my new ceilings. I agreed with the mum of my new tutorees that expecting children to sit inside and study on the only snow day of the winter was a bit cruel...and I thought I'd get some paint on today, but have spent *all day* sanding the rough bits. It's still not perfect, but at least it's better.

I'm really cross with myself for not being more picky and assertive at the time :(
