hey Messies - Helen we're ok, the weekend was rough for reasons too complicated to go into but it's sort of sorted now - :)

Oh god the house is just awful, I'd be better with a bulldozer and starting again. Kitchen is beyond belief, nothing clean, festering plates and pots and rubbish covering every surface - just seems that making dinner wears me out so much I'm flopping straight after doing it, sometimes too tired to make myself anything decent. I'm hopefully going to mr T in a minute and will probably get real cheat dinner stuff, then ask for some help clearing up tomorrow :(

Glad to hear soupdragon and jacci's better news :) kitty - hope you feel better soon xx

Love and hugs to all, just can't remember anything else I wanted to say to people! xx

    Afternoon Messies.

Just off to colour my hair (had it cut earlier), but had to call in first.

Jacci, great news about you and your son. Very gentle on-armed de-messing while off work seems a great idea, but very gentle! You don't want to go overdoing it, do you? ;)

Cat, so pleased to hear you and your son are picking up a bit now. Horrible situation to have to go through. It's bad enough if it was just yourself, but we do suffer for our kids, don't we? <hug> Don't worry about the mess - there are a lot more important things in life. (will I get evicted from the thread for saying that?)

Emm, your beef cook-up sounded wonderful. Your OH must get some of the best picnic meals EVER! :T

FA1, I hope this student visit is a good one.

SD, well done with the kitties, and I hope that whatever it is you have, that it responds very quickly to all the rattling meds.

    Right, colouring. :(

Evicted??? Far from it! That's our mantra on here! :D

yes now ordinary grieving can recommence - without going into detail we thought there had been some lies told - which was devastating - now we can look at it in an entirely different way. Confusing I know:o

I'm glad the 'confusion' was relatively short, Cat. As you say, you can get on with the healing process of grieving.

 Lovely to see you de-lurkers! Hello all messies, hope things are going well for everyone.

I think I have a virus. I feel a bit woozy and a bit crap, like I've got flu but not quite bad enough to stay off work and in bed. Bleaurghh.

The patchwork cutting mat and bits and bobs have arrived, and I should have a weekend off hospital visiting this weekend, so hoping I might make a bit of progress on my new hobby.

Brrr it's chilly tonight. I think I'll haul my (not inconsiderable) backside off to bed in a bit, might take the lappy and a hot water bottle.

Things are even messier than before upstairs, but downstairs is still relatively tidy if a little dusty :o

Get well soon jps, must be rotten having to drag yourself off to work when you're feeling under the weather - don't overdo it! xx

I really need to get some focus back, in all areas of my life! Realised today that the heating has been on constant and reasonably high for about a week now:eek: I was doing so well at being careful too!

Also need to stop spending money on make up and skin creams (an addiction since new year), and be strict about not buying takeaways cos I CBA cooking.

No need to mention the house, and as for the diet....

After a very good few weeks, DS's asthma has flared up enough for him not to go back to school this week as planned, which is all his appalling attendance record needs:o

One positive today, took Jamie Oliver and Nigella books to the charity shop as they're a total waste of space for me. On the downside I bought 2 pairs of shoes and a pair of cropped summer trousers while I was there - one step forward and all that.....oh dear...:o
  • Evening all

Just spilled some water on the kitchen floor and gave it a rub with a bit of kitchen paper, then thought oh dear is my kitchen floor really that dirty?

Have had a mad couple of days, found we had a washing machine leak - thankfully only the hose which hubby has sorted and it only cost £4. Think its been dripping for a while because the wall is a bit damp now. Anyway this resulted in the washing machine being pulled out and all the gubbins having to be moved around in the utility room.

Builders have been in repairing the roof, lots of banging and clattering. Had people in to quote for a new shed and been selling some furniture on ebay so have had someone around to collect that yesterday.

Not much housework done, need to catch up on the washing now the machine is mended. Feel really tired at the moment though, could do with an early night! Hope everyone is OK. DS2 wants helps with his homework so will catch up properly tomorrow.

Cat, do you think DS's asthma has worsened because of stress? It's not unlikely, is it?

YL, such a shock when you realise that something is REALLY dirty! We know all about WM leaks. My mum moved into her house in Sept, had new flooring put down in the kitchen, then patches started to appear on it. OH found that there was a slight leak on one of the hoses, and replaced both, just in case. Patches got worse, then OH fouhd that the leak was actually coming from the WM itself. The flooring appears to be totally ruined, although we live in hope that it may dry out when the weather gets warmer.
