Sorry to hear about your son, Jacci. NOT what you need when you're about to have an op yourself. <hugs>

It being Sunday, I've not done a lot, but have done a WM load of bedding, picked up niece and nephew from the ferry, and after 3 months, finally typed up the minutes of a meeting. If it hadn't been for someone asking me to email them a copy, I'd probably have cleared out all the odd sheets of scribbled on paper, including the handwritten minutes! Apart from that, I've just vegetated in front of the tv - very, very unusual for me.
  • Hiya Messies - Just got home after work - firstly-
Jacci - keep fighting that cold, hun. So sorry to hear your DS got injured like that. He sounds like one of the good guys, Bless`im, and I`m sure he`ll be fine. Please don`t think I`m being trite, but think of it as `could have been worse` than a fractured cheekbone - I`ve nursed some youngsters left severely disabled after head injuries in fights - and your son`s intervention may just have prevented someone being affected like this. It`s just so unfair he got hurt in the process.
As for having a good cry, though I can well understand why, it will only make your head all snotty, so do try to resist! (HUGS) to you & your son.
  • Buffy - glad to hear from you again. Of course you`ve been missed, daftie! and I`m glad your ofsted ordeal is over, and it`s all very well to say `it`s just a (***** etc) job`, but you obviously DO care about that job, and about how you do it. (As I do about mine). Sometimes things get very intense and you can`t just `switch off` between one day at work & the next, that`s without the added stress of audits. let alone deal with your `real life` stuff outside of work...there`s a very fine line between being `dedicated` & thinking you must be just plain barking for still being there! And some folks DO `burn out`.
Being a Messy, and periodically (when time, energy & concentration span permit it) concentrating on the domestic carp is probably a great antidote.
    Well, that`s my theory, anyway.
  • Soupdragon - hope you`re ok hun, sensible to nip things in the bud, hope your Dr. visit was helpful. RESPECT, so much respect, to you on how you are dealing with those kittens.
Yorkshirelass - thinking of you & your son, hope the scan will be helpful.
Cat - thinking of you too, & your son. Take your time, we`ll be here when you`re ready.

  • Morning all

crikey loads has been going on since I last posted - hugs all round for those in need

Not got much done here recently (distinct lack of motivation) so decided last night I needed to get my 'ooomph' back and get on with things. So far this morning one load in WM, one load in DW, registered on-line to sell some gold, registered on-line to sell DH's old iphone, parceled up both and been up the post office to send them off.

Next job is to sort out dry washing and put away, then I can get the wet washing onto the airers. And I'm feeling so motivated I'm going to do the next steps of decluttering upstairs. Ooo, that reminds me, I was supposed to be decluttering 100 things in Jan, think I'd only got to 15, that means I need to do a lot today and tomorrow - eek!

catch up with you all later
    PP
    xx
  • Afternoon! (I DID get up this morning, then changed my mind....as I can`t do `disco naps` but I can do a decent lie-in alright!) I`m still on my first coffee of the day, and don`t you find it tastes particularly good when you`ve slept to the point of dehydration?
Bins day today, OH put them out last night but not been emptied yet, so first job will be a quick scout around for more rubbish to go out.
I`m not feeling very motivated, despite dry weather & bright sunshine. Everywhere is cluttered, and apart from final bin-filling I have that `WHERE do I start?` feeling.
Another coffee, while I ponder the question....

Ouch, Jacci-sorry to hear about your son (and glad to hear that's "all" it is, iyswim).

Today is my afternoon off-I negotiated an afternoon off for college last year, and now there's no money to pay me to do it again:rotfl:

I came home with heavy heart, expecting to spend the entire afternoon digging half(?!) a hole. If there is such a thing of course :p

:TWoohoo!!! I was on my fourth hole before I hit the sort of conditions we had on Saturday. So many big roots it was practically chopped out with a hand axe. The result: four more trees in the ground when I was prepared for disappointment in hoping for one :D

Four more to go...that I've already bought, anyway, but one of those is pot-grown so only three are urgent. It feels a bit more achievable now. Yesterday I was definitely at the point where I wished I'd never started. But it's going to be lovely in ten years' time. I must keep telling myself that :)
