My home is a mess

hi medi-minx, it's lovely to have you here!
Make your posts as long as you want! It's therapeutic to write it all down here, AND it gives me more to read, which means more of an excuse to sit at the computer!
eta Music Magpie IS tedious isn't it fa? It's annoying that they only save lists for a week, I do a few, get fed up, then by the time I feel I want to add a few more my list has been deleted0 -
I should like to rejoin - am I allowed? Even though I don't live in MK? MIL and SIL do though so does that count?
I need a list
Tidy kitchen
Put clothes away in bedroom
take stuff to charity shop
sort out laundry
continue tidying and decluttering the office
do "high level" dusting - cobwebs everywhere
sort out cupboard by front door
sort out bookshelves - they are overflowing
take some stuff to post office to get them out of the house at last (and some will earn me money)
Sort through the many old magazines and either bin or put in work bag for reading on the train
Clean all the windows inside
clean the bathroom of baked on gunge - on grout and shower hose.
Sort out DS room and make space for a wardrobe - I think i can get rid of a shelf unit and put the never-played keyboard in the loft.
I don't know if gardens count but the garden needs serious tidying. I think some metallic things (old trampoline frame, old bike) will get taken by "rag and bone" men if i put them out.
THis may take some time...
I have 15 items listed on ebay, but i think only one will sell so i may withdraw the others and also give to charity shop.
Update - i did precisely none of the above - but i did do the ironing.:TArt seems to be one of the worst,
Agree about art - my DS (12) has no interest and less talent and gets tons of art homework. One day he had to investigate a British born kenyan painter. Well there just isn't one! Then it turned out that others in his class got E.g. British born irish painter, british born caribbean painter - none of whom could be found! Why don't the bl00dy teachers do THEIR homework?
Oh so the list didn't really help then
ah well tomorrow is another day. Only one of my things sold on ebay (the only thing remotely designer-ish) I might just take the rest to charity tomorrow. At least i can up my declutter tally sooner.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Thank you Cat
I don't think I should be spending more time on the comp...that's the root of my problems me thinks! Too much time reading about ways to help be rid of my clutter instead of actually dealing with it! ah well...there is always tomorrow. As I type I can see out of the corner of my eye a newspaper perched on a footstool....perched on a washing up bowl..perched on my 2 seater sofa...a kind of clutter jenga if you will...hehe...and this is me 'doing better' Oh dear!0 -
Final flurry of activity before I sink once more into slovenly mon-fri mode.
DW on, washing out of TD and sorted for ironing (OH does this - I clean the drains he irons - I think I got the best of the deal).
Kitchen now looking reasonable and DD has promised to go down and deal with the final mess :T
Sherlock is recording so a treat for tomorrow when I am collapsed on the sofa.
Can't catch the latest interloper, have rung cats protection about a trap so will wait for a reply.
Now off to bed to curl up with a good book (and ignore the mess in the spare room which I have yet to deal with).0 -
Deep breath...
Hi all! Am a long time lurker on the board and thought it's about time I got brave enough to pop in to say hello and thank you to all the regular posters. I am, obviously, a fellow messy (as evidenced by many things..including the fact that half of my xmas decorations have still not made it back upstairs..and those that have are sitting in the spare room waiting to be 'put away'...hmmm..may be some time).
You are all a really lovely bunch and I have been encouraged by all the support that you have shown for each other to aim to make changes to the way I deal with things too. I now have 'baby steps' as my mantra...although baby doesn't seem to be taking many steps yet:rotfl:
Right...there are so many things you want to say on a first post but if I did I'd still be writing (and deleting again) and you'd have probably all gone to bed!...
:hello: Welcomethe more the messier I always say :rotfl: (I'll get me coat)
Update - i did precisely none of the above - but i did do the ironing.:T

lmao fru - am still here!
Me and fru, clutter twins it would seem!
I'm addicted to this place too, sit down and don't get up for 8 hours:o
You know on Kim and Aggie when they say, oooh it must have taken YEARS to get into this state? That always makes me laugh, I can achieve the same effect in about 5 days. I'm playing fast and loose with the definition of "achievement" here....
btw where is Grey Queen lately?0 -
The bins are out and the boxes of clean rubbish are in the car ready to go to the dump tomorrow. Laundry is drying in the machine and the dishwasher has been loaded.
I cleaned out one of the animal cages and am just about to tidy my clutter away before going to bedTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Hi Fanny Adams
I have 8 boxes on my futon in the lounge at the moment while I decide what to put on eBay and what to car boot/CS. They've been there for 2 days now and if I watch tele have to slightly stick my neck up so I can see whole screen!
I will also have to explain to the engineer tomorrow that I am NOT moving house, just having a tidy :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Hello to the newbies! It's great to have more people on board!0 -
