thank you soupdragon and kitty :) xx

lol - oh dear, I do want to try and accommodate people!:( It would be awful to arrange it and find that 50% of people who want to come are away on holiday at that time!

25th August? 8th September? Weekend in between is DD2's 18th so can't make that. Later when there is a school holiday? Earlier? Before/during the summer holidays? Oh god, you can see why I don't organise anything:rotfl:

The only weekends I can't manage are Aug 11/12 and Aug 18/19 and weekends when DH is on shift [that'll be 26 out of 52] but I can get round that with help from my Mum if needed. so pick a date and a place and and see what happens

Wow! so much posting today, just trying to catch up (and I'm another one who struggles to remember who I was going to respond to)

The last few pages just illustrate what is so great about this thread - so friendly and supportive and I can identify with so much of what you all say. In my head I'm a domestic goddess, in reality I'm more of a slob (in my head I'm a 6 foot tall, size 10 blonde, I'll let you guess what I really look like)

So hugs all round for anyone who wants/needs one :D Sorry I've not mentioned individuals... :o

I'm another one would be up for a meetup - let me know when/where and I'll see what I can do (coming from MK)

Not had a productive day round the house but finally tackled our 2012 budget, looks like I made a bit of a mistake when I did the initial draft and I'd missed out a couple of small regular payments, so now I'm £25 adrift each month. Need to do a bit of juggling to sort it but at least I know where I'm at now. AND I seem to feel a lot better now I've got that out of the way, although I'll have to do a bit more tomorrow then just keep it up to date. Phew!

Better go and finish doing dinner as we've not eaten yet

umm - somewhere round the Sheffield area on August 25th? That looks pretty central assuming there isn't anyone here from Aberdeen or Penzance or somewhere!!

Firstly I want to say another thank you to everyone who posts on here. you are a real inspiration to the rest of us and sometimes I am worn out just reading it all. sometimes I am inspired and get off my bum and do something to haul us out of the hoveliness.

here's an assortment of hugs :grouphug: in varying sizes for everyone {{{{{}}}}}{{{}}}{{}}{}{{{{{{{{{{{}}}}}}}}}}}{{{{{{{}}}}}}{{{{{}}}}} I know that one size hug doesn't fit all so feel free to take one. did you know that if you put them in your pocket they multiply in the dark... that's how I have spares.

OMG! I spent all day yesterday sorting clothes and put about 40kg of clothes, shoes, and wellies (in assorted bags) in the back of my car yesterday (hmm at 50p/kg that's only £2.00).
    KA-CHING, OOOOOH YEAH!
got £25.00 for everything. including shoes, wellies and sandals, cot blankets and sheets and baby clothes @ 50p/kg.

The front room is WORSE than when I started. There are clothes in boxes for what year they fit (e.g. 9-10years, etc IYSWIM) everywhere - so much so that there isn't room to hang up the laundry from last night's machine wash, or take down the dried ones from yesterday. So will have that joy to behold when I get back.
no one seemed to notice how bad front room was whilst I was away, so I'VE managed to get the stuff back into boxes that were freed up by the other stuff 'leaving'. the boxes are currently languishing on the 2 seater sofa until I can be arsed to do somethign else with them (Conservatory is looking favourite).

On a plus note I have a bit more space in the conservatory now and think I want to try to eBay the rest of it, if only because MSE people say that people will buy anything!
Went through with threat to both DS's that their rooms would be gutted if they couldn't/wouldn't keep them tidy so all that space in the conservatory is now filled with boxes of carp from their rooms. Moved the shelves around so boys have better arrangement of shelves in their rooms and HWTHMBO helped shift the furniture and sorted the laundry now we can get to the dried stuff.
I am slowly working my way through a box of unwanted DVDs (music magpie and CEX were prepared to give 30p/title) and putting them on eBay, OMG it's SO tedious but I am glad I can type in the bar code number and eBay fill in the details for you.:T

Have posted my SoA on DFW and found out we overspend by 500+ per month  I have no idea what's going on as we seem to just keep our heads above water... better have a proper look at stuff going in and out and see what's really going on.
Just going to get my fix of Sherlock (Thank you freeview plus)
    catch up soon

  • Deep breath...

Hi all! Am a long time lurker on the board and thought it's about time I got brave enough to pop in to say hello and thank you to all the regular posters. I am, obviously, a fellow messy (as evidenced by many things..including the fact that half of my xmas decorations have still not made it back upstairs..and those that have are sitting in the spare room waiting to be 'put away'...hmmm..may be some time).
You are all a really lovely bunch and I have been encouraged by all the support that you have shown for each other to aim to make changes to the way I deal with things too. I now have 'baby steps' as my mantra...although baby doesn't seem to be taking many steps yet:rotfl:

Right...there are so many things you want to say on a first post but if I did I'd still be writing (and deleting again) and you'd have probably all gone to bed!...
