Rummer I've replied and you will see I'm hopeless:o
Not hopeless at all!!! Sometimes these things are just not right for us, I only wanted to make sure you knew what options were available to you. The book however is well worth reading.
Right off to face the kitchen :eek:Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Cat be kind to yourself . Yorkshire lass I feel like you going over things Iv said or done in my mind but its best to not dwell as people tend to forget who said or did things. Life is too short to look back.
Im doing as little as possible today.
The reason I did not stay long at the car boot was because it was freezing. Not as much stalls as I had hoped for. I guess most people thought it too cold.
Cat Im sure in the future we could arrange a get together with everyone. It would be really nice to meet up. Put a face to the mess so to speak,lol.0 -

Cat I didn't want to read and run without posting. I think you need dodgy cyber hugs:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: and boy are they dodgy:rotfl:.
Something that was said to me when my home was at it's worst of worst state (although it really isn't much better now:rotfl:), was think about how long it has taken your home to get to the stage it is at now.
When I think of that and think 'well yes it has taken 6 years for it to look like this' I realise that it cannot be sorted in a week or two even with the help of Kim and Aggie:rotfl:, but I can take a day at a time and even 1 thing sorted or put away or binned/recycled is 1 more than yesterday.
Get yourself down the chippie and even eat it out of the paper to save on washing up, every little helps:D.:j DEBT FREE FROM 01/01/11 :j

YORKSHIRELASS wrote: »I relate to the going out and no-one speaking to you thing too. Its that old cliche of being in a room full of people and feeling lonely or invisible. It just makes you want to crawl into a hole and stay there. I am terrible at analysing everything I say to people afterwards too and wondering if people think I am an idiot. So much easier to chat to people on here.
I used to be like that too and then I had a bit of a LBM. I realised that in a room like that, there is going to be a significant proportion of people that I'll never meet again. Or if I do, I won't know I've met them before and they won't remember me. So if they walk out of that room thinking "wasn't she lovely" or "OMG did you hear the tripe she was spouting", I'll never know so I will just decide that they go with the former. And of those that I do know and will see again, there will be a number of them that I think "OMG, did you hear the tripe that s/he was spouting". And if I think that about them, chances are that they think that about me too. But so what? I don't care if people that I don't like don't like me.
So that just leaves the folks that I like and want to like me. Usually, they are already friends and don't care what you say anyway. And if they are new people that you want to become friends with, chances are that you'll change your mind about them if the don't "get" you. So then they drop into the people I don't like category and what they think don't matter.
If you've spent your whole life wanting everyone to think well of you, it takes a while to stop caring about people you don't like but as long as you keep thinking "well if s/he wasn't such an !!!!, s/he would have got my joke/understood my point/realised that I am great", you start to not stress about it so much.
HTH a little bit. I know it can sound a bit trite but with a bit of practice, positive thinking can help. Just let it get to you when the negative thinking creeps back in. Gotta keep trying.0
