My home is a mess
Comments

Just popping back in to say congrats to MM on the job. New Year, new start, who knows where it will lead?
Outlaws popped in today - eek! Didn't comment on the mess but quite used to my house looking like a tip. Noticed DH shut our bedroom door when he took them upstairs to show them the new landing windows;) I don't suffer depression (apart from when I wake up and see the state of my bedroom) but I struggle to get started on things. I'm okay once I get going :rotfl:
Have precisely 16 days to sort out my tax return and submit it online. Have spent the last 6+ months trying to sort this so cutting it a bit fine.
Smear and MOT with the nurse last week - who else hates these as much as me?
Aim is to sort tax stuff then make concerted effort to declutter, particularly bedroom as less and less room for DH to [STRIKE]climb[/STRIKE] walk round to his side of the bedThen I need to clear the 50+ egg boxes in the downstairs loo (crikey, will my hens ever start laying again), find worktops in the kitchen, stocktake the freezer/larder, replace the fridge (currently pull-down opening like a dishwasher:eek:) and so the list goes on.
But you all inspire me :APlease do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'

Hi all.... I have been lurking on this thread for some time and am deffo a messy!!
I would love to join you if thats ok!! I am a naturally lazy person and also work fulltime...........housework just doesnt appeal when I get in from work and I cannot get up early to do it....I just give myself enought time to shower, get dressed and go.
I broke my wrist early December and a benign tumour has been found...Im out of plaster now, just in a splint but Im having an op shortly to remove it so will be off work and in plaster for about 6 weeks again, therefore, the housework hasnt been and wont be one of my top priorities .
Im so so so thankful that a malignancy wasnt found though and because of the scare I have had I am also giving up smoking...going to Drs on Friday and that will be it.
I look forward to being on here with likeminded people and would just like to say that life is important......my home will get better bit by bit but im going to concentrate on my family (and myself!) much more.Tomorrow I will need to do some ironing..deep joy...and will attempt to give the kitchen a good wipe round but will also enjoy spending time with hubby!!
Take care all!!
jacci45 I understand completely what you mean about finding time when you work, I was exactly the same. I did think that when I wasn't working I'd have a clean, tidy, perfect house. I resigned from my job 18 months ago and I've still not got sorted in the house:rotfl:
Hope your recovery from your wrist op is quick and keep posting here - everyone is very friendly and supportiveBuffythedebtslayer wrote: »I spent the morning worrying about the dentist, spent the afternoon at the dentist, the evening asleep recovering from the dentist.
ie. nothing got done.
Buffythedebtslayer I know exactly what you mean about the dentist - get's me like that too. Hope you are ok nowMoney_maker wrote: »

Moneymaker I completely agree with that!
And now, why am I up at this ungodly hour on a Sunday morning? Well, it's my turn to get up with the dog and for some unknown reason he decided he wanted letting out at 20 past 6, I've given him his tablets and his breakfast and he's just gone back to bed.
So, the big question is, should I go back to bed or just crack on? hmm, think I'll try and get some jobs done before I wake up enough to justify not doing them
see ya later

Hi Im checking in to say Im up and going to a car boot. Its a novelty getting up early and out for me as I usually crawl back to bed after seeing dd to school.
Iv decided that if Im to fight this depression I have to keep myself upright and doing something.
Iv not read through the posts yet but will do later.

I should like to rejoin - am I allowed? Even though I don't live in MK? MIL and SIL do though so does that count?
I need a list
Tidy kitchen
Put clothes away in bedroom
take stuff to charity shop
sort out laundry
continue tidying and decluttering the office
do "high level" dusting - cobwebs everywhere
sort out cupboard by front door
sort out bookshelves - they are overflowing
take some stuff to post office to get them out of the house at last (and some will earn me money)
Sort through the many old magazines and either bin or put in work bag for reading on the train
Clean all the windows inside
clean the bathroom of baked on gunge - on grout and shower hose.
Sort out DS room and make space for a wardrobe - I think i can get rid of a shelf unit and put the never-played keyboard in the loft.
I don't know if gardens count but the garden needs serious tidying. I think some metallic things (old trampoline frame, old bike) will get taken by "rag and bone" men if i put them out.
THis may take some time...
I have 15 items listed on ebay, but i think only one will sell so i may withdraw the others and also give to charity shop.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Im back. Bought a hamster cage, books, gloves, ink for the printer and a mega deal on chicken from the mobile butcher. Chicken will last six weeks or more. Im going next sunday to get some beef ect as its a fraction of the cost of supermarkets.
Im going back to bed soon.

Meandered into Sunday after first night in new bed - it's even more magnetic as it has a really comfy matress and if given the choice I would hibernate for the next couple of months until the weather warms up.
Been down and fed kitten - still a little spitting but can stroke her when she's eating so getting her used to being touched.
Plan for today is to get plate rack up, new shelf up in kitchen and create order from chaos!
Will report back on progress later.0 -
Today I am tackling the garden :eek:Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

Whilst I try to get on with sorting the house, I feel like I am getting bogged down daily trying to keep on top of the kitchen mess!
I was wondering if any of you lovely ladies had any ideas for meals that don't make much mess when preparing/cooking? I can't eat from the SC all the time as I find it boring.
Any ideas please?
BTW I brought the lappy upstairs and am in bed as I can't face the mess :eek:Putting these winter preps here so I don't forget!
