Hi Messies :) I couldn't log in on my phone while I was away for some reason, so I started reading on my phone in bed today when I woke up (2pm!), I got through a couple of pages and thought, god, I'm never going to be able to say welcome/well done/sorry/thank you to everyone I want to:( Then I started to cry a little! I just hate people to think I'm ignoring them:(

So thank you to all who have been so supportive to me, well done MM on the new job and everyone for their achievements, sorry to Fru, snookey and anyone else feeling down or depressed (so sorry I can't remember everyone specifically - I might cry again in a minute!) and a big welcome to all new people.

I have an appointment with my CPN on Thursday so we'll discuss things, including Vitamin D. I'm taking multivits at the moment but guess the dosage is much too small, Frugal, any more info via pm would be welcome, if you can - thank you:)

snookey it's just awful isn't it, when meds seem to be working for a time, and you start to feel hopeful, then you crash again :(

Weekend was ok - hotel was cold and noisy so not a lot of sleep on Friday, and Saturday was the usual ordeal. I sit there for hours and nobody talks to me. Most people in family groups or cliques. But at least in the last couple of years of doing this DS (who is quite shy) has made some friends so that's the main thing. He did ok, ups and downs, but had one very high finish which I missed 'cos he asked me to go and get him a can of coke! But I had it independently verified:D

My house is at Kim and Aggie stage. Seriously. Really, really, really bad. I may take some photos but you really would be horrified (and sympathetic, I know that, but I know you'd be thinking, how the heck can she live in THAT?!!)

I just need a little get up and go. I wish stimulants were licenced for prescription here like some are in the US :(

eta still just don't know what to do about DD1's failure to help out at all. But I'm going to leave it this week as Thursday is the anniversary of her loss :( After that, will really need to attempt to speak to her again (or "start a row" as she would describe it)

Cat, aww come on dont get upset about it. I read the posts on here, think of things I want to say then by end I have forgotten it all. When you are feeling low everything makes you want to cry, its horrible. I relate to the going out and no-one speaking to you thing too. Its that old cliche of being in a room full of people and feeling lonely or invisible. It just makes you want to crawl into a hole and stay there. I am terrible at analysing everything I say to people afterwards too and wondering if people think I am an idiot. So much easier to chat to people on here.

And I bet your house isnt really at the Kim and Aggie stage hun. And if it is who cares, you can sort it out when you are feeling better. Taking care of yourself is your priority for now. Glad you are getting some professional advice.

On less important stuff: Really pleased that I have made the grand total of £45.53 on the 12 things I have sold so far on ebay. £45 is a lot of money to me at the moment! Still some more to sell but the better stuff has gone now.

We cant afford takeaways but if you can do it occasionally why not? We are having a homepride pasta bake thingy for tea which is my equivalent of cheating.

Buffy, hope you are OK after the dentists. And Jps, that doesnt sound like taking it easy to me!

OK hugs to all feeling down (seems like a few of us at the moment). Off to decide what to buy with my £45 - think it might be some coal :)

Cat, I have sent you a wee PM ;)

Well I did some serious cleaning in the garden today and it is looking slightly more presentable! Now I have to drag myself off the couch and deal with the house which is looking less than its sparkly best!

Hello and welcome to any newbies and returners!

Hugs from me too Cat, and to anyone else who wants them. Everyone reads and runs at times, it's only to be expected - please don't feel bad for not acknowledging, thanking, mentioning etc. I seem to read/post and run almost all the time when it's term time.

I also used to religiously thank everyone on this thread as I felt sort of rude not doing so... but then I realised that sometimes the thank button didn't work and odd posts were left unthanked... it looked like I'd deliberately not thanked them! So now I don't thank, I hope no one minds. I do really appreciate all the posts and enjoy them, and enjoy sharing my news and daily bits and bobs as well.

  • Oh Cat :grouphug:

It can be overwhelming looking at all these posts at the best of times. Especially when it seems like people are making lots of progress and you're stuck in one place.

Nobody minds you not commenting on them individually.

Hey, what better place to be if your house is at Kim and Aggie stage than on this forum?

We all have times when it overwhelms us and I feel for you struggling emotionally with life as well. Be kind to yourself. Just do what you feel able and wanting to do. And if that means doing nothing for now, then do nothing.

If you felt up to it, you could plan what you'll do first when you feel able to tackle something, but don't if you're not up for it

thank you so much all, you're all lovely xxx YL it really IS at that stage, but you're right, I'm not going to worry just now, we have no clean dishes for tea and no room to cook among the carp so I might get chips :)
Rummer I've replied and you will see I'm hopeless:o
tatty, jps, cats - thank you xxx
Susan thank you, I'll definitely have a look at that now :)

I'm quite socially awkward, and I am sure plenty of people think I'm an idiot! Remember the days before internet? I used to feel quite isolated - I'm sure there are many, many people like me who find that online friends and participation in forums etc. enriches their lives hugely.

Whilst I try to get on with sorting the house, I feel like I am getting bogged down daily trying to keep on top of the kitchen mess!

I was wondering if any of you lovely ladies had any ideas for meals that don't make much mess when preparing/cooking? I can't eat from the SC all the time as I find it boring.

    Any ideas please?

    :)

BTW I brought the lappy upstairs and am in bed as I can't face the mess

I tend to do the full sunday roast & trimmings on a Sunday which obviously leaves a bombsite in the kitchen. But I cook twice as much as necesary so Monday is bubble&squeak and leftover meat. Frying pan is incredibly non-stick (cheapy from co-op a few years ago but best I've ever owned!) so that leaves very little washing up.

I also do pasta/sauce or couscous/sauce type dishes where most of prep-mess can be washed up while the cooking is finishing off. If I have to be in the kitchen keeping an eye on it anyway, I might as well use that time to clear some of the mess. The last pan and the plates we eat from can stay out until it is time to start on tomorrow-nights dinner but they don't take up anywhere near as much space as the whole kit-and-caboodle.
