I'm interested but September could be a bit tricky for the teachers as its back to school time but August is holiday time either way I'm up for it from frosty Milton Keynes

Laurel - I completely agree with Cat and I'd be telling him about manners too and not to smoke in my house - I smoke and don't smoke in the house! Cheeky beggar - haul him over the coals and let the school know too. Ooohh I'm so angry on your behalf.

    Hi All

I haven't been on here for a week, and so have just caught up on a weeks worth of posts, and was going to update you all on what I have\haven't done in my messy house.

But... having read the posts I now think it's far more pressing to give Cat501, Snookey, Frugal, and anyone else that needs it a big fat virtual hug.

Unfortunately, as I am clearly a bimbo and couldnt find the smilie for a hug, heres...some choc from me instead, so just sit back and relax, and imagine this is a hug :o. :EasterBun

Also... Congrats to MessyMare on the job, and welcome to Bupster, Ticklepenny and Jacci45.

Finally.... Soupdragon - "Messies are just realists" is my new mantra. Love it!

It really is lack of assertiveness, I think. They're just kids (last year's little prince was 11), I make allowances for jetlag (the time difference is crippling) and cultural differences and then suddenly I find they've been here days and I've run out of excuses...but by that time they're nearly ready to go home...

He was out with another family today...I had their lad yesterday and they've had mine today...apparently they took him for a Chinese meal and he wasn't impressed...yes...that's rude in any culture.

Hi Messies :) I couldn't log in on my phone while I was away for some reason, so I started reading on my phone in bed today when I woke up (2pm!), I got through a couple of pages and thought, god, I'm never going to be able to say welcome/well done/sorry/thank you to everyone I want to:( Then I started to cry a little! I just hate people to think I'm ignoring them:(

So thank you to all who have been so supportive to me, well done MM on the new job and everyone for their achievements, sorry to Fru, snookey and anyone else feeling down or depressed (so sorry I can't remember everyone specifically - I might cry again in a minute!) and a big welcome to all new people.

I have an appointment with my CPN on Thursday so we'll discuss things, including Vitamin D. I'm taking multivits at the moment but guess the dosage is much too small, Frugal, any more info via pm would be welcome, if you can - thank you:)

snookey it's just awful isn't it, when meds seem to be working for a time, and you start to feel hopeful, then you crash again :(

Weekend was ok - hotel was cold and noisy so not a lot of sleep on Friday, and Saturday was the usual ordeal. I sit there for hours and nobody talks to me. Most people in family groups or cliques. But at least in the last couple of years of doing this DS (who is quite shy) has made some friends so that's the main thing. He did ok, ups and downs, but had one very high finish which I missed 'cos he asked me to go and get him a can of coke! But I had it independently verified:D

My house is at Kim and Aggie stage. Seriously. Really, really, really bad. I may take some photos but you really would be horrified (and sympathetic, I know that, but I know you'd be thinking, how the heck can she live in THAT?!!)

I just need a little get up and go. I wish stimulants were licenced for prescription here like some are in the US :(

eta still just don't know what to do about DD1's failure to help out at all. But I'm going to leave it this week as Thursday is the anniversary of her loss :( After that, will really need to attempt to speak to her again (or "start a row" as she would describe it)

My house really is as bad as you describe yours is - In fact I think K&A would walk out  :rotfl:

    thanks Helen:) x

have just ordered calzones from takeaway across the road, so much money but what the h*ll!

I've just been round taking photos of the house, except kids bedrooms, that's their domain!

I took DDs to beefeater :o This has to stop - I cannot afford it.

I am going to unload and reload DW tonight and sort kitchen tomorrow, inc throwing out all the food I have left to go off in my fridge. :o I am mortified at the wastage and it has to stop. Now.

I will PM you re vit D - if I forget, please remind me as my brain is only half functioning due to needing some sunshine ;)

All I want to do it EAT - and with a holiday coming up, and no clothes that fit me properly, that HAS to stop too :o

I am another one that could do with some stims but as caffeine gives me palpitations, I should imagine anything more powerful would send me really loopy!!!

Thanks for the hugs - Hugs back to those who need them

    Love, Fru

ps - I would be up for a meet - we could bring photos - start taking them now ladies... Perhaps we could have a secret vote on who has the worst mess and a little prize for the winner? :D It will be between me and you, Cat501 I think :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Helen, Cat-I belong to another website where we have meet-ups, and there is only one way to do it.

Choose a date and location that suits YOU and see who will come. Once you start trying to accommodate everybody, things fall apart, because it just isn't possible.

People who can't come this time, will hopefully come next time. This other crowd meets up a couple of times a year, and sometimes I can go, sometimes I can't, and it's the same for everybody else. We all bump into each other eventually...

lol Fru - what would the prize be??:D If it's cleaning equipment I'm going home:rotfl:

I have been brave and already sent out the link to photos to one person and I know who she will be voting for:rotfl:I just took the pics as things were, not even a smidgen of tidying, so they're very honest about how things are right now, two weeks ago it would have been so different - not great, but different:D

laurel stop blaming yourself, they're little sh*ts and that's that!

Helen, I'm not at all sure I like a challenge but hopefully - given a lot of time to organise it - we can make it worth going to? Note the use of "we":p
  • Big hugs Cat - sorry to hear you are feeling so down. Could your daughter not plan how to help?

Just remember we are not messy we are 'differently tidy' ;););)

Today I made bread and baked rolls for lunches for the week (before anyone faints in horror I must add that the breadmaker mixed the dough and I merely put it in the oven).

Plate rack is up :T:T:T and the shelf is nearly there - we didn't have the right size wall plugs so I will buy these tomorrow and it will be up and useable. Will get the tea coffee etc off the worktop, plus the breadbin so more space to work. Washed out the cutlery insert and sorted cutlery out.

Did one load of washing- work stuff which I always try to keep on top of.

Have discovered that we have ANOTHER stray kitten in the work room downstairs (not sure how we can catch this one as it's a bit of a dumping ground, plus has the workbench and tools in there.) have rung cats protection to see if they can loan us a live trap to catch it. Other kitten still a bit hissy, but coming round slowly with food bribes.
