Hi everyone new and old. Well I cleaned the kitchen last night, did three loads of washing, changed our bed and tidied dd room while she was asleep. Place looking tidy today.
Helen I need to buy our hamster a new cage might have a nose in B&Q. Hope the sink is sorted soon.
Im going to see the psychiatrist Monday which is just as well as the depression is getting worse. Im sleeping more and having to push myself to do things. I feel sorry for those who are having to wait for appointments. My advice would be to go to A&E if the depression gets any worse.

I think I lost my last post

Well Done MM :) Really pleased for you :)

Lol at your dog, Helen :rotfl: I can just imagine him still sitting there poised to pounce :D

Sorry your depression is getting worse Snookey. I hope that the psych can help on Monday.

For any and all who are suffering with depression, esp seasonal affective disorder, its worth doing some research on the benefits of Vitamin D. Since I started looking at the way it can combat depression I believe that anybody suffering from SAD should initially be tested for Vit D defiency. I decided to take 3,000 - 5,000 iu a day since autumn and can honestly say I have felt none of the usual SAD symptoms, except of course for a messy house :D The reason I was crying for 2 days was definately the horrible situation and not depression related.

I have even been waking up BEFORE my alarms (I have 4, plus the radio and have been known to sleep thru them all!) which is absolutely unheard of for me. I am certain it is because of the Vit D.

Obviously we can't give medical advice but I would say its worth investigating on the web and chatting to your GP/psych about it.

DD has been very poorly today so a friend took other DD to school and the poorly one and I stayed in bed until my friend brought my other DD home from school at 3.30 :D We both slept more or less solidly until 1pm :rotfl:

Needless to say, nothing has been done here :o

  • MessyMare, WELL DONE!! & big celebratory ((HUGS)) to you.
Bearcub & Yorkshirelass - wise words there on the subject of Messynss!
Helen - sorry, but your post did make me chuckle - not just the dog & empty cage bit (that sounds like my Daftie-dog!) but the kitchen tap saga too. Nothing`s ever simple here either, one task seems to generate 4 more ...well done for being diplomatic, AND keeping your sense of humour - I hope some of the beer your OH has gone for is for you!

  • Snookey & Frugal - and anyone else out there who`s depressed (HUGS)
Frugal, that`s an interesting point about vitamin D deficiency. Sunlight allows skin to synthesize this vitamin, but the lightbox benefits can`t be connected to this I think. We are complex beings alright, maybe both remedies together would help more? Also iron deficiency can cause symptoms of tiredness, lethargy, and feeling the cold more. Worth getting checked, anyway.
  • Helen, you deserve it! (Lucky mare - I shall have to abstain as up at 6am for work. Roll on Tuesday for a lie-in!)
  • Being absent from the house apart from sleep-breaks, I`m resigned to it getting messy. The degree of messyness does vary according to how bad it was to start with, especially the Kitchen! I do find that if it`s messy when I leave it it gets VERY much worse rapidly, but if I`ve really left it pristine DGD (who`s in residence now till Monday) & DS do not trash it quite as badly.
Aim - to clobber the kitchen tonight, after we`re all fed.
I`ve done OH`s snappins (a sort of pork, carrot & runner bean stew with noodles, in food flask)
DS having remains of last night`s chicken/veg/noodles (his choice) whenever he microwaves it.
DGD & I having salmon, broccoli & red pepper with noodles & pad Thai stir-fry sachet, I`ll do ours after dropping OH at work.
THEN, I will clear it all away.
    OH Yes I WILL!!

Well done MM! As you say, you never know... one thing tends to lead to another with temping and hopefully the right job will crop up.

Frugal, snookey and anyone else who wants em, hugs.

Helen, eeek at the kitchen! Hope everything works out well.

Sorry for not being able to read and digest and respond to all... I'm absolutely shattered, and feel very low today (time of the month and all that). So, I'm off to bed with a hot water bottle and some DVDs - the mess can just stay right where it is! See you tomorrow messies!

    Right here goes

House is the messiest it has EVER been!! I bought new kitchen sink taps as ours are leaking - they don't fit, not only is that a prob but to get the old taps off DH has had to remove the sink - worktop broken in the process - washing machine moved into the middle of the kitchen, 2 trips to B&Q and so on and so on!! There is water everywhere [took 90 mins for the dam stuff to stop running when the water was turned off] crap everywhere, dog is hiding upstairs, never knew that DH knew so many swear words, never have I been so diplomatic!! More knew taps bought now and other new ones will be fleabayed. DH is trying to put it all together now - fingers crossed everyone!!

Dog is busy watching an empty Hamster cage [bought a super duper one in B&Q for £5 in their clearance sale]
swopped Hammy over but dog hasn't realised lol

DH wants a hand now so catch up later

OMG  that sounds like a nightmare!!!!!!!!! Hope it doesnt take too long to get it back looking somewhat normal.

LOL at your dog :rotfl:No offence, but is he a bit dim??
Snookey - they had them on an end at the tills - £5, it has 2 floors, 2 feeding pots, ladders, wheel, water bottle and a little house with a chimney!! Reduced from £15. Sorry to hear about your depression, hugs and love

    Helen x

    Sounds like a mansion :)

Well, on the day that DWP decided I wasn't eligible for any benefits, I got a job :) not entirely the one I was hoping for, it's the same role in a different branch, but only temping - covering maternity leave. Although you never can tell how maternity cover will work out, can you? But it gives me an extra four months to either find something else or do whatever, and babymaking is still on the cards :)

woo hoo!!!!!!! Thats great news :T Hopefully it lasts longer than 4 months, or you prove to be invaluable and they find something else for you.

Had a productive day......emptied the shelves and washed all the ornaments to get rid of the dust. Removed all the kids stuff that had ended up on there (bindeez, polly pocket shoes, etc). Looks much better now theyre not covered in dust

PudseyDB - Dog is as thick as they come but sneaky too, yesterday I made Apple Cake, DH had a slice and covered cake with foil and left it on the worktop whilst we slipped out for a ciggie, in that short time Dog stood up against the worktop, pulled the foil off and nicked and chomped half the cake! He's been known to nick raw chicken legs still in wrappers [DH's tea lol]

Kitchen is sort of sorted, tea cooked and munched by all

Downstairs is the pits but it'll wait till tomorrow
