Cat I hope you have a really good time away - make the most of it and then on Monday morning book a visit to the Doc, infact , phone tomorrow to get an appointment ASAP and get them to sort out your meds, these grey days don't help and whilst lots ofpeople will be glad of the mild weather I'm one of those who is wishing for snow and a really cold spell! I love Winter when its a proper Winter - not this wishy washy weather.
I've sent DH to bed as hes tired and I'm away to sort the Kitchen ready for the morning and to dry uniform that DD needs tomorrow
Love and hugs to all

Hello - is this the place for people scared of the flylady thread? My Christmas tree has been taken down and taken away but all my cards are still up and most of the clothes that I've washed over the last three weeks are in a pile on my bedroom floor. I struggle to see any problem with this :rotfl:. Am I among friends?
I'm too scared to even OPEN the flylady thread! Only xmas decs in our house were the cards that OH hung on the side of the bookcase. They were removed last week but the one that fell down onto the Wii box sitting on the coffee table is now buried under the books that are sitting on the Wii box on the coffee table because the book case is full. Of things that aren't books.
Oh, and every once in a while I notice the bow that was stuck to OH's xmas pressie which he stuck onto one of the picture frames across the room as a token decoration. I bet that will still be there next xmas :rotfl:Blue_Elephant wrote: »Oh and some advice? while they were away I paid some bills for them (2 x road tax for each of their cars - I don't drive, and a £300 dual fuel bill as they get billed quarterly) They owe me near enough a grand. I pay them "rent" to cover my share of bills and food - they don't have a mortgage. I figured that I wouldn't pay them rent and just knock it off what they owe me when they get round to paying it - , probably the end of next month, not like I'm asking for it tomorrow! Because that would ease my finances, given I've had to shell out money I hadn't budgeted for if that makes sense, and it would help with my cashflow. Apparently not - mum wants me to pay rent and then will give me the full amount for the bills at the end of next month. Huh?
does that make sense to anyone else or am I being thick?
How about you can't afford your rent because you loaned some money to someone and you can't pay rent until its paid back. When they ask who you've lending money to, point out it is THEM! Totally out of order to expect you to pay them when they owe you. Remind them how much a bank would be charging them for an unauthorised overdraft like this
((hugs)) to everyone who needs them at the moment and fingers crossed for MM's new job (positive thinking there!)0 -
Helen - winter isn`t done yet! You could still get your wish. I must admit I HATE the snow and ice, but it`s a natural part of winter and I agree that it`s all a bit too grey & wishy-washy just now! Maybe my log & coal delivery today is making me brave enough to say it but - ok, let`s have a cold snap & get it over with!
Last year we had a flock of Brambling coming to the feeders in the garden, and they were so lovely to see - NO chance here this year, too mild.My lavender & Rosemary are still flowering, and the nettles haven`t died off. I suspect it`s my fault for buying a snow shovel in September & it`s still in the boot since I bought it!
Snow does reflect back a lot of daylight, doesn`t it?0 -
I've switched desks at work and now sit on the side of the office with the tinted windows. I'm sure I'll be grateful for it come summer but the grey tint really doesn't help with the sensation that it just doesn't get light properly at the moment!0

GRR! bounced off twice since last post! Dratt & Dratt again.
Frugal - no GP appt. before 23rd? that`s pathetic! No wonder A&E`s are so packed to the rafters! I`m just happy that my old carp GP is finally GONE at last, & best riddance to him - another local paractice with decent docs have taken all his patients on - would have changed GPs a while back but had inside info that he was having to go & now won`t be scared to be ill again. Maybe better book it in advance??0 -
Blue Elephant, & Sonastin - I do so agree with Sonastin`s advice here.
If it wasn`t your Parents you`d not hesitate to point out how un-real their expectations are for you to be paying when it`s them who owe you. Put your foot down.0 -

Our decs are down (apart from one wall which has 6 xmas cards and a couple of special decorations) but......I still havent managed to get round to packing them all away!! I got bored again doing it today and ended up decluttering the bookcase instead!soupdragon10 wrote: »Have now managed to transfer the stray to my indoor rabbit cage where s/he has more room (no I haven't got close enough to determine which).
Good luck with that......years ago I rehomed a bunny (Buttercup) which I then found out was a he not a she and had to be hastily renamed Parsnip
Our current bunny Harpo is apparently a He...but sometimes I have my doubts. It baffles me that a male bunny has teats!Pfffffffffffffff to GPs! I called mine today for an appt - 23rd jan they said!!! Oh yeah... Lets just wait 10 days to see how bad I really get
That's shocking  no one should ait that long to see a doctor!XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0 -
Aaarrrgh - just wrote a big note to Frugal & Cat, but got deleted. Wishing you both well, Frugal, you should be able to go as an extra to your docs, i think it might help. Cat, I was wondering where u had got to,, its hard to keep up with these threads sometimes, plus household chores, don't worry, hope your trip lifts your mood. There is a condition called SAD (Seasonal Affected Disorder), which im sure u know about, which does affect some people, u can get a light, not 2 sure if they work or how much they cost, but could be worth a try. Hugs to everyone who needs them.0

Frugal, I too suffer depression, call the GP again today and say it's an emergency, mental illness isn't respected the same as other illnesses. My house is awful when I have a run of bad days, and my 12 yr old daughter puts music on and 'helps' me to clean house, she should be clone-able,I'd earn millions! So today is not such a bad day, cleaning windows for me to let some light in!
Hugs everyone, even those that don't need them!
