When I was young and single I employed a cleaner. She was rubbish at cleaning the place but the main reason I employed her was to motivate me to tidy the house every fortnight. £20 well spent in those days :rotfl:

I'd love to get a dog, but DS has asthma and we now run a catering business from home so now probably isn't the time to try - even poodles! LOL. My friend just got some kind of poodle cross puppy (poodleador? labradoodle?) and he's amazingly cute - but also very very furry! I haven't spent enough time with him yet to know if I'd have a reaction, in general it's cats which are an instant reaction with me.

Usually they're labradoodles...although there's also cockerpoos and also maltese/poodle crosses.

    btw..she's not a poodle cross but...my older dog is a labrador x chihuahua :D

I'm not allowed a dog :( OH says NO!

Just danced round the room like a muppet cleaning and singing :D also washed down the kitchen surfaces. Dinner guests are a casual half hour late so they are having charcoal for tea :rotfl:

Is this dancing and singing to punish your husband for saying no or a Mary Poppin-esque way of preparing for your charcoal-fed guests? :)

I'm 49 this year so teetering on the edge of 50 but I feel fine about it, much less obsessive than when I approached 40. I reckon it's because my eyesight has gone, so I can't see the wrinkles and blemishes now :rotfl:

:rotfl:Sadly, that doesn't apply to me, but hair dye is one of my closest friends! ;)

I'm nearly there with this week's clearing up. Have cleaned the bathroom, and almost sorted out the mags. Still haven't emptied the waste basket, as stuff needs shredding, but I did spend a lovely hour and a half with mum, so I'm feeling rather :A Tomorrow, I'll be clearing and tidying of another kind - working in the local churchyard, biggest on the island, a wildlife haven, and wonderfully historic place. Hope to see some red squirrels while I'm there.

We got 20 boxes of chocolates, 4 bars, 3 selection boxes and numerous seasonally shaped treats

They are currently the main clutter in my kitchen :(

20 boxes of chocolates!!  I don't think even I could manange that many (I'd probably pick out all the nice ones and throw the orange cremes and toffee ones away - not very MSE!)
