I'd love to turn my sofa into a coccoon...can never quite get comfortable with notebook, laptop, pen, blanket, remote, phone...someone needs to solve these problems!

Must stop reading the Shabby Chic thread and do something!!!

    Helen x

Hehe I go there for a bit of chic envy every now and then! I've got shabby off to a T though :o:D

I've been visiting the sewing annexe thread as well, and tonight I'm going to start making T shirt yarn out of my giant heap of saved old T shirts from the loft (some never worn, some worn out but all excellent quality). When I have done that (goodness knows when!!) I shall crochet the yarn into a large rug, I think. I've even ordered some more crochet hooks so I can experiment for the right size to use.

On the messy front, kitchen is bearable, living room is still tidy :T
oopstairs is - well - really, really messy. Ah well :o

Just eaten a dinner large enough to feed three people, and I'm not in the least ashamed (just a bit groany in the tummy department!!)

When the Christmas crap is all eaten, I shall live on branflakes, bananas and slow cooker meals. Honest.

  • MessyMare, I`m glad you`re sounding positive and things are getting sorted.
Rummer - you have every right NOT to leave the couch pet!

I`ve been MIA - partly work (silly `short` shifts, but off tomorrow!) & partly feeling sorry for myself as Oh is now on nights. I`ve read but felt too lethargic to reply. Despite new Messies and some posts that made me chuckle. Sorry about that. Today, I`ve done 2 WM loads after work, and made a chicken, leek & celery `stew` for OH snappins (trying out new food flask.) I put vermicelli noodles in to thicken it a bit for speed. Will have some myself later, it tastes pretty good!
Interesting theory that folks who keep pets aren`t minimalists - but I`ve known 2 very min types, one with houseful of cats, the other with a couple of great danes!
Possession - My driving instructor many years ago had poodles. Her son was desperate for a dog but allergic to furry animals. Someone told her that poodle hair is different, they don`t shed `dander` like furries as their coat is more like wool. SOUNDS far-fetched, but she was so desperate that she gave it a go, her son was fine (as long as he kept away form other dogs),and she ended up breeding Apricot toy poodles!
Have to go and feed DGD who is in residence this weekend. Then take OH to work in a bit. Back later...

We got 20 boxes of chocolates, 4 bars, 3 selection boxes and numerous seasonally shaped treats

They are currently the main clutter in my kitchen :(

Some of you have recently turned, or are shortly going to be, 40, and I can sympathise with those of you who are uneasy. I was such a misery when I turned 40, I'm surprised Mr B didn't threaten divorce! As it is, I'm 60 this year, and I DON'T FEEL IT! So there! :rotfl:

Wahay bearcub, that's the spirit! They do say that 60 is the new 40, right? :D I'm 49 this year so teetering on the edge of 50 but I feel fine about it, much less obsessive than when I approached 40. I reckon it's because my eyesight has gone, so I can't see the wrinkles and blemishes now :rotfl:

    I do not need a cleaner I need a professional tidier ;)

When I was young and single I employed a cleaner. She was rubbish at cleaning the place but the main reason I employed her was to motivate me to tidy the house every fortnight. £20 well spent in those days :rotfl:

I'd love to get a dog, but DS has asthma and we now run a catering business from home so now probably isn't the time to try - even poodles! LOL. My friend just got some kind of poodle cross puppy (poodleador? labradoodle?) and he's amazingly cute - but also very very furry! I haven't spent enough time with him yet to know if I'd have a reaction, in general it's cats which are an instant reaction with me.
