My home is a mess

Cat, I really cant really say anything about your carpet because mine is disgusting too. When we had family around at Christmas my SIL was telling the kids off for taking food in the lounge. As if a few more marks on the floor made any difference!. Your room does look pretty tidy though!
I very reluctantly helped OH take down a branch off next doors tree and chop it up for logs (we did discuss this with the neighbours first!!). I think it did me good being out in the fresh air.
Have also done loads of washing and ironing. Got the rest of the Xmas Decs down and even got them in the loft - they normally sit on the landing for a fortnight first.
On a mission to take some stuff to the dump tomorrow. I also need to scrape the gunge of the kitchen floor at some point. I have really got to get up in the morning though, this sleeping in until 9.30am is no good. DS2 is being picked up by his friends Mum at 10.30am tomorrow and I dont want to be in my jim jams when she calls!0 -
YL thank you, it was tidy - and didn't get a lot worse over the night for some reason! I think most of it went on a windowsill but I'm not posting photos from that angle!!
merlot, does your other half leave the bedroom door open deliberately very often?:p
I did throw some dirty washing in the machine which hasn't worked since July though
Ok I'll get MY coat, too much cider!!!:D
the deal was, winner gets on the pc, and as I lost 6-1, I think I'm being shunted off to bed( night folks xxx

Worked all day, came home, did half an hour exercise on Wii, had dinner prepared by OH then sat down and promptly fell asleep.
Woke up just in time to come to bed.
I've a feeling that some people are almost achieving flylady status with all the cleaning, tidying and decluttering happening on here. Just in the process of selling one of my snakes, so when I have rationalised my collection I will be able to reorganise my living room and hopefully keep tidy.;) (waits for pigs to wing their way across the sky).
Have conjunctivitis which is getting me down - not a lot to be done apart from take euphrasia and wait for it to get better. Sure sign I am run down:mad: hopefully healthy eating and exercise will help things improve soon.
No wuthering wind so must try and get some sleep.#
Night night messies all....:)0 -

Evening Messies. No progress on the great bedroom clearance, but did get the christmas tree & decs taken down & boxed up. The boxes will probably lurk in the dining room for a while now until OH puts them in the loft. Mission today was to clear the shoe mountain in the hallway - getting difficult to open the front door - never got around to putting away summer sandals so they're getting mixed up with winter stuff. Have now sorted summer from winter so we've 2 heaps - but what's the betting they'll merge together before I have a chance to do anything else with them - where should I store summer stuff? any (polite) suggestions? - what does everyone else do (there are 4 of us - OH & DS have big feet so their footwear resemble small canoes:D0

I use something like these. I have two under each bed, one for the shoes and one for the clothes.

The above would be ok, I've just ordered some,so I can get organised.

Even the above if you have a utility room/spare internal door.0 -

I'm not the only one! I have a boot mountain... in an ill-advised moment I put a shoe rack in the hallway to cover an area where the plaster was missing. Somehow all the football boots in Dorset have taken up residence on & around it... As DSs1 & 3 don't play, and nor do the girls or DH, that only leaves one suspect. I've asked him to go through them & take away any that are no longer in use, but apparently all 33.5 pairs are still current - & necessary?!
However I'm planning an all-out assault; I'm investing in some of the IKEA shoe cabinets for the utility room & some of them will end up in there. The rest - well, he's been warned...Angie - GC Oct 25: £290.57/£500: 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 28/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -
Good morning!
It was lovely coming down to a tidy living room this morning, I could get used to this. A busy day meeting friends awaits today so not going to get much chance to clean but I will try

Morning messies and not so messies:)Well did not manage anything yesterday, I felt so low and tired I could not do anything more then tidying out a handbag, still it a start,So far today I have ordered a new dress and pair of shoes, made the beds done 1 wash load with another whirling round, and dish washer is almost finised, got rid of all old mags and papers ,found a chicken lurking in the fridge with the 4th Jan on so tranfered it into oven, paid the milkman and seriously thinking about scrubing out the bathroom. So am doing really well up to now!
Hope everyone has a good day:)0 -
Morning all
I've done the ususal gibbins this morning. I've even dusted in the LR!
Dog is eyeing up Homer the Hamster, Homer is using his little house as his toilet and is sleeping in part of the tunnel thingy, Toby the dog is all of a quiver. Toby had a major sulk last night and decided to sleep on our bed, he's cross between a Collie and an Alsation so not small, he played deaf when told to get down and made himself dead weight so it wasn't easy to get him off, we had to wait till he was asleep and then wake him up, he was confuddleed so got off when I told him too - this took about 30 mins and I had to lay there with me legs hanging out of the bed!!! This morning he raced downstairs and sat and whined at the DR door till I opened it so he could look at the moving meal [Homer] Will have to move Homer later as DS has 2 friends coming round and they will be noisy and then Homer will have a heart attack and keel over and the dog will bite a kid cos he's so excited - all fun here
Off to do some washing and hoover the grotty stairs
