Not technically tidying, but both DS and I now have computers with Office installed (so a big load off my mind) AND remote access to the printer and external hard drive.

(DD won't let me touch her computer. She thinks it's only held together by wishful thinking as it is...)

Whew. I didn't really know how stressed I was about that...and have been for months...until now...

Another one with "wrong thread syndrome" :rotfl: Must be catching... Have you been near Helen Jelly recently? She seems to have caught some strange de-cluttering/cleaning disorder.

    I have it too

I didn't think it would last long, my domestic goddess bit, the cat has peed on my bed whilst I was eating dinner:eek:,the kitchen now looks like a bomb has gone off and my DS has spilt a drink on the CLEAN lounge floor, oh well it was good why it lasted:rotfl: Going to sit and have a glass of whisky and drown my sorrows, only kidding I couldn't care nor less to be honest, my DD said it looks like we are moving house, I asked why, because alot of things are packed in boxes and it really bare on the fireplace. What she means is their are no cups, plates and other toot at this moment, but give it time it will be back to normal:rotfl:

OH is still recovering from his hernia op and yesterday overdid it a bit tidying his garage. So today he is under strict instructions to take it easy, by which I mean take it easy, not get on with a task he considers to be easy but which requires physical effort and stretching of the stomach muscles!

This resulted in a very long whinge about how booooooooored he gets sitting around doing nothing. So I offered him a couple of easy, abdomen friendly jobs like, washing up. Laundry. Pairing up his socks. To which he turned his nose up with a "but its so boooooooring" Like I get a kick out of doing those things when I get home from work.

The good news is I have a much higher mess-tolerance threshold than he does and I am getting well practised at ignoring the passive-agressive observations that "we" need to clean this place more. If he wants it clean he can bloomin well shift his carp so I can get at it to clean!

    [rant mode off]

apologies for that. Just had to get it off my chest! If I get home to find every single mug has been used for tea again, I reckon you'll hear the screams from wherever you are ;)

Murder was nearly committed yesterday. OH hadn't done the laundry because "he didn't know how to sort girl clothes". Like there is something magical about separating into light and dark! At least he'd washed up or there really would have been trouble.

But tonight all is forgiven. He hung out the wash load I put in before I went to work and did a second wash. He did all the washing up and cleaned the kitchen sink. He tidied and hoovered the lounge. Apparently he's done the bedroom too but I haven't been in there! Hallway is much tidier but there's no heating out there so I pass through at high speed and don't even see the mess :D

Sitting here catching up on posts isn't persuading him to make a start on dinner though so I suppose I should go and do that. You can bet I never get chance to cook as soon as the new kitchen is finished though ;)

Bathroom is now completed and no-one is allowed to go near it :rotfl: . This is what it took to achieve it:

    • Surfaces cleared
    • Cupboard tidied
    • Woodwork and door washed down
    • Sink, toilet and bath cleaned
    • Floor scrubbed
    • Mirrors polished
    • Fresh towels
    • Loo roll replenished
Phew it is simply gorgeous :D I could gaze at it for hours!

Rummer and Helen, FGS sit down and have a rest!!!:rotfl:

Still nothing new to report on the demessying front! Got my microwave replaced no problem, then went in Boots and spent .....shhh don't tell the kids....£45 on No7 stuff (B2G1F), with a freebie eyeshadow thingy for buying a mascara I didn't even need:rotfl:Oh dear, I will regret this decadent spending very very soon :(:(:(
Made tea, put dishes in to soak, now I've promised DS I'll give him a game of darts in 20 mins or so, so I'm guzzling some cider because I can't hit the board stone cold sober:D So it looks like tonight is another washout!:D So much for a new year, new start! I WILL get properly started soon, I promise!:D

Decorations now put away in the loft, and we have space again in the lounge. Not that the tree was big - it's a 4' one that we put on a small cupboard that was Mum iL's - but as our ceiling is fairly low, the room seems so much bigger now the tree's gone. Sadly, I've not got around to sorting through the mags, as YD called, and we talked for ages, plus a couple of my favourite programmes were on tonight. I rarely watch tv usually. However, while talking to YD, I flipped open a couple of pages of one of the mags, to find the ideal card design for a friend's birthday. :D

I'd love to be able to get our bathroom really clean, but that won't happen until it's been stripped out and re-fitted. The room is tiny, and desperately needs re-planning.
