Thriftwizard - good plan and Grrr to OH

Rummer - I too let DH think he's telling me what to do sometimes - makes him feel like a man and its always something I was going to do anyway and when I want something he can't say no hehe

    Today I have
Cleaned the Bathroom from head to toe
    Hoovered bathroom
    hoovered landing
    hoovered DS room
    hoovered DD room
    remade DD bed
Put away clothes in 3 bedrooms
    hoovered our room
    dusted our room
hoovered landing wall [easier than dusting cobwebs]
changed bathroom around - we have movable units in there
    sorted out paperwork
brought down about 6 loads of washing to do - its all towels and bedding so its wash it, dry it and put it away
    made some phone calls
sorted out DH's paperwork for him to tax his car tomorrow
let out next doors dogs for a pee and had a cuddle with them
brought down 2 big bags of rubbish from the overflowing bins

Off to a Garden Centre soon as a treat for all the cleaning

    See ya later folks

I need help. I have picked up all the gubbins off the bedroom floor and dumped it on the bed. Then I looked at it for a while. Then I came out, closed the door and came downstairs, made a cuppa and put the computer on.

I kind of have this hope that I will go back upstairs and it will all have magically disappeared. I really need to get one room at least looking half decent and our bedroom is the worst.

Helen you have put me to shame. I need a kick up the bum I think.

Wow Helen you deserve your garden centre break! Well done!

Yorkshirelass I'm sorry to say I can't offer any motivational words of wisdom as I'm just the same with my upstairs mess at the moment. I keep looking at it, rearranging parts of it, then closing the door and trying to forget it altogether.

    Ok update:

    Hoover done
    Mop floor done
Get lunches ready for the week in progress
Clean out school bags. I'm worse than when I was at school myself for having an overstuffed and untidy school bag - however not as bad as one of the other members of staff who found a mummified sandwich in hers! in progress, one done
    Take Christmas decorations down done
Relax and enjoy the rest of the day! Also in progress, nip of sherry in hand!

  • Applying toe softly to rear Yorkshire Lass - how about sitting on the bed and sorting while listening to music? I've done just this many times and have steeled myself to sit and just assess what's there and if I need to keep it or not. Best of luck with your tidying.

Haven't done any housework today so far. I'm on cooking this evening so will sort and tidy kitchen as I go. Did paint the corner where the new plate rack is going which took a bit of time, but at least it's now drying so plate rack can go up.:j this means extra shelving can then be put in, freeing up another base cupboard :T It will also give me further space for my cook books which are strewn around the house.

Family weight loss challenge has begun - at least we are all doing this so no cakes/biscuits etc in the house is easy to keep to. Have a good afternoon fellow messies.
  • You ladies are doing so well! I really need to get stuck in but failing to find the motivation.

You have however motivated me to get dressed!

OH has had me helping him tidy up outside today so I think that is enough for one day! We've moved a few scaffold planks and scaffold tubes off the driveway so I can park my car there again now. Or at least I could if it would start. I guess I should phone the AA and see if they can fix it Homestart so I can at least get to work tomorrow. Or I could just take OH's van and leave him trapped in the house - hope that incentivises him to get it fixed!
  • Snakes have been cleaned out !!!! DD helped me to clean and water my scaly friends so at least they are no longer messy :T

You know when, with all good intentions, you start tackling a trouble spot, and end up making more of a mess than when you started?

    I'm at that stage. :D

And to add to it, my DH has just moved one tv to another spot in the house, and opened a real can of worms! I ended up abandoning the first job and found myself another. Now I've got two unfinished jobs on the go. How the hell did that happen? :rotfl:

I'm all done, finished the jobs I set myself for today. If it wasn't for the fact that this is now IT for the next six weeks as regards not being messy, I might send myself over to flyladies!
