I am now itching to clean my housebut I will have another coffee and hope it passes as OH and kids get in the way + DD's BF is here too.
I still have to encourage the pup to go out 1st thing in the mornings as she pee's a river on the newspaper and it's soaking through to my rug(I am getting a new rug when she is house trained lol).
OH keeps telling me he is going to be a new man this yr and help more but at the mo he is snoring on the sofa where he fell asleep last night :rotfl:
Hope everyone is going to enjoy the extra day off and catch up later x

I just snorted in a very unladylike fashion :rotfl::rotfl:
Having not long got up and finished breakfast I am trying to convince myself that I really want to clean!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Hmm. Small-medium mountain of washing up. OH brought the dog upstairs this morning, and I got squeezed out a little bit, so I'm sitting down here with my laptop, trying to find the motivation to sort the kitchen out. Argh. Why can't I get out of this funk?

I am wishing I had a tea mug that magically refilled.
I am getting a cold and my skin has gone to crap. niggly wriggly stupid bits to tidy up wires everywhere.
MM, I think you need to give yourself a break re everything with the job and the new start. Do you have to sort the kitchen out right now? Can you go for a walk? a drive ? watch a film?

Laundry humming away and the living room is tidy so I am just going to give it a wee hoover and wipe the table down
Then I may go further and make a start on the kitchen!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Well I didn't get up until 9.30! I can't believe it - I don't usually do that unless I'm ill, but I feel fine. I think as I'm back to 5am starts tomorrow I subconsciously decided to have the mother of all lie-ins!
I'm having a "get things ready for work" day - but taking it pretty easy. I've sorted out my clothes for the week, cleaned the cat's covered litter tray out, dusted (well, just the bits you could autograph! :rotfl:) and put some washing on.
Still to do:- Hoover
- Mop floor
- Get lunches ready for the week
- Clean out school bags. I'm worse than when I was at school myself for having an overstuffed and untidy school bag - however not as bad as one of the other members of staff who found a mummified sandwich in hers!
- Take Christmas decorations down
- Relax and enjoy the rest of the day!

Just thought I'd share.
The magically refilling tea mug has yet to appear. I guess I had better get up and get on with something.
hmmm.

Aaaargh! A mountain of washing has appeared overnight  Two of the boys decided to change bedrooms and have evidently just decluttered all their clothes straight into the washing pile - well, saves folding it up & putting it away, doesn't it?
Luckily one has a semi-resident girlfriend; after a quiet word in her ear, she's taken him aside :A & they're sorting it out themselves instead of just expecting the washing fairies (aka me & DD1) to get on with it.
Actually I announced before Christmas that the washing fairies are going to implement some changes in the very near future; I'm going to gut the utility room, put it back together in a more sensible & useful order, and use it (mainly) as a family wardrobe, even though this will cost a bit as an electrician & a plumber will have to be involved & some decent shelving & storage bought. Anything clean & dry will simply get folded & put in a relevant box & they can find it themselves. Taking it to their rooms for them didn't work - they just filed it on the floor, trod on it and put it back in the washing pile - & asking them to collect their own clean laundry didn't work - they just turned everyone's stuff upside down to find their own. Doesn't help that OH's expectation is that I should take everything back to their rooms & put it in drawers for them, just as his mother did. They're aged 19-23 for heaven's sake !
Rant over - apologies for letting off steam! I foresee a big trip to the charity shop skips... part of the problem is that they just plain have too many clothes.Angie - GC Oct 25: £372.89/£500: 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 40/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -
Well, half of it is done. OH has hoovered. Still not dressed...OH is trying to persuade me to do so but..not much point really.

Are you relaxed and in PJs or are you in them because it doesn't seem worth the effort? One is positive the other is not the best. I have joined the Frump to Fab thread as I had slid into the 'it's not worth it" mind frame and hard as it has been to crawl out of it I am feeling better. Plus it is nice to let your OH think you do as you are told from time to time
Today I am relaxing in my tidy livingroom and I have started to organise the kitchen. Mind you I am enjoying lots of online and mag reading timeTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0
