:T Nice AA man got my car started in under 5 minutes with no extra cost :T

Which means no excuses for not going to work tomorrow :(:rotfl:

Had to keep the car running for a while after he left so took a trip down to the big Asda and spent £40 on not very much. So much for trying to keep in control of the grocery spend this year! Guess I'd better wander back to the Grocery challenge thread and mend my wanton ways!

MM- think you've managed plenty for today but I've got a few cobwebs going spare if you're looking for something else?!

Cat- sounds like some party  I thought I had a monster hangover yesterday but I think its nothing compared to what you've been up to! I'm amazed you've had any energy for clearing up after all that.

    Well, my visitors have gone.

And my friend's new g/f is lovely. DD said SHE looked nervous to be meeting ME, lol.

The dishwasher is running, and the kitchen is as tidy as it's ever going to get, and I had hoped to paint its ceiling tonight...but I'm tired, and, yes JPS- I'm back to work tomorrow, and I've been colonised by the cat. I have a new book on my Kindle that I bought myself on Christmas Eve...and I'm going to read it. :p

O ladies what have I done? I have pulled all the contents of the bottom cupboards out and put them onto the worktops to decide what is staying and what is going and now I can't be bothered doing any more :rotfl:

Cat - wow that sounds like a wild party

Frugal - there's a long post from you that I can see and you made me chuckle, just looked and saw that others saw it too??

No chance of me going to another thread - like it here far too much and downstairs is the pits

Garden Centre visit was a bit of a let down - got a Yankee dish to stand my Homebase cheapy candle in lol and a little Yankee candle but that was it, although I was looking at the potatoe tubers and the onion sets for the lottie. Banned myself from buying more Xmas Decs as I have far too many now!! Also had to restrain myself from buying more candles - boo hoo. When I drop kiddies off at school on Weds I'll have a nosey round the other garden centre, but I only buy reduced bits as they are too dear at full price.

    Decs put in the loft

Another 2 loads done and another about to go in and I have to make our bed as DH stripped it this morning

I work on the theory of "critical mess" - you need the messiness to reach overload in order to get the motivation to sort it all out again. Perhaps you need to empty a few more cupboards to reach critical mess :rotfl:

My New Years Resolution for 2012:
"go and make a start on dinner" will NOT mean "go and do the washing up from last nights dinner and everything we've eaten and drunk since in order to get enough clear worktop to start preparing the next meal".

I think there is a good chance of keeping this resolution for a good few months - if only because OH has promised to start on my new kitchen in a couple of weeks which should give me loads more worktop space for food prep once I've fallen off the washing-up wagon!

Oooohhhh do you ever visit the greenfingered board? I have just started planning my garden for the summer and ordered my things from:

    http://www.alanromans.com/

I have ordered many things from here in the past and have always been delighted. Small packs sensible for a years growth and good prices :D
