    Morning!

I have scooted round the living room tidying the endless mess that my DD seems to leave in her wake and given it a quick hoover and I have packed her off to grannies for the afternoon :D.

The livingroom has also been hoovered and I am currently trying to convince myself to stop watching Thundercats (I much preferred the original) and to face the kitchen . There is a mountain of presents waiting to be wrapped although I can hear gift bags calling me :rotfl:

My OH is at work today and I keep getting whinney texts from him! You would think it was xmas eve :rotfl:

This holiday is going to be very MSE for me as I found out last night someone has been using my card details in Mexico so the bank has kindly cancelled my card . As relieved as I am that they are on to these things so quickly it now means that I have no pennies for a while (local branches all closed) and I won't be able to hit the sales :(. Maybe a blessing in disguise ;)

Hmmmm maybe instead of cleaning I should have a wee nap?
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!

LOL I am exactly the same - and i'm really not feeling like doing much today...

So... what does one do with 2 DDs (5) who sneaked down and opened their presents this morning? Fortunately i hadn't put them all under the tree, but their main presents were there and I am FURIOUS. They knew not to do it. DD2 is very remorseful but DD1 is being defiant and calling ME mean!!!! Livid doesn't cover it... I feel like filling their stockings with potatoes and telling them that father christmas was angry with them too... But of course I won't do that... But what on earth can I do re chastisement? They can't be allowed to get away with it... They ate all their advent calendar chocs on Day 2, too

    Jobs for today:

    Kitchen (again )
Living room - throw stuff in black bags and heap in my room
    Do 2 loads of washing
Hallway - maybe move new pine shelf to more permanent place so door opens properly
Bathroom - quick swish and swipe and clean floor
Make yummy fish pie for dinner and watch the DD1 gag and tell me she doesn't like it
Putting these winter preps here so I don't forget!

Curtain pole installed in the living room
    Paint curtain pole
Window quilts for landing window & french door
Add shrink film to the kitchen door & insulate
    Insulate front door
Bubble wrap windows & french door
    Wash front door curtain
    Blind for the bathroom
Find wrist warmers & the wool socks!
    Wash heated throws
    Wash duvet & wool blankets
Buy vest tops to go under clothes and PJs
Buy nets for bathroom and kitchen
Buy or make blind for kitchen

Sorry Frugal but that was so funny I really laughed out loud!!1 Maybe next year Santa should put a couple of little pressies out for Xmas Eve that they really can open the day before. You've made my day!!

My list above is gradually getting smaller

My throat is getting worse [that'll please everyone if I lose my voice lol]

    Off to do some more

PS Have you thought of doing the Elf thing - Elf visits and stays [Teddy bear or something similar] shows up on 1st Dec and if they have been good then they get a little something the next day - carry it on right till Xmas Day - keeps them wondering if they have been good enough but you must not leave a little pressie if they have been naughty - Elf leaves a note asking for better behaviour!! HTH Helen x

    Grrrrrrrrrrrr

Glad you think its funny :p :rotfl:
I told them yesterday (when they wouldn't sleep) that the elves and fairies come around to do random checks before Christmas and to check on their room and make sure they have been good! All with no effect whatsoever it seems... Last year I really did put 1 potato in each of their stockings... after the initial horror of 'knowing' father christmas KNEW they had drawn on their bedroom wall, they thought it was hilarious and I heard them chatting about it recently and wondering if they would get any more potatoes this year.

I'm telling you, twins are a challenge to say the least! Never had these problems with (now grown up) DS!

  • hi all

am on a coffee break, ive managed to half do 3 rooms, as i go in to put something down and ended up having to do 10 jobs in tha roo then remember where i was and go back to it!! Me thinks i will be up till the early hour of xmas morning. Frugal if it was me id choose 2 nice presents for thee stockings and leave them a note from santa in the top saying they were going to get a lot more but they were naughty, and end it by saying dont mess with the claus!! or there is a claus in the contract about giving children gifts that they must NOT open them and he is disappointed and made mary christmas cry, and only when they are truly sorry in theere hearts can they have the rest of them (guess whos kids have done that before lol). Might sound a bit harsh and they do get there presents but hopefully they might get a lesson from it. Sorry am i just a really cruel mother????? They will prob laugh about it later on in life when they realise it was you. Well luckily for me mine do heheheheheh.xxxxx

:rotfl:sorry frugal, I laughed too! Oh dear!!
    Thanks Laurel xx
I'm another in the AAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGHHH camp today. The place is a TIP, the weather is BEYOND AWFUL, and I wish it was all over!!! No excuse not to get things done, girls went off on their long train journey this morning (DD2 wondering how she'll go 10 hours without a fag), DS still at his dad's, but I still had to drag myself out of bed at 2pm. Been up and down getting glasses of water all night this week, not sure if it's a return of side effects from my meds or possibly, just possibly, the onset of Type 2 Diabetes - I did have a borderline blood test once before. I'll see how it goes and if it's no better after New Year I suppose I'll get it checked out.
Back later, hopefully with something to report on the messy front....:p

eta ah hang it, just decided it's NOT too early for a Bailey's (copy of) :D
