My home is a mess

D'ya know what, Messies???
My house will not be tidy... I will not be where I would like to be... BUT................
We are going to have a fabulous Christmas Dinner as I am a fabulous cook, and I will have my 3 children all round my table, which happens only a couple of times a year... and the mess... well you know what?... It will still be there tomorrow, Xmas Day, Boxing Day and probably New Years Eve and Day too but I don't care! Its been the worst year in my life ever so the fact that we are able to even see Christmas is a bloody miracle in itself. But we will eat well, we will have lovely gifts and most importantly, we will be together!
So there
to anybody (not fellow messies) that give a stuff what my house looks like!!!
Enjoy Christmas, folks... No matter what the house looks like...
Hey................... There's always next year, right?!!!
Putting these winter preps here so I don't forget!
Curtain pole installed in the living room

jps-it can be the tension (I'm not an expert either) but a real newbie mistake (OK the mistake I made when I started) is to forget to put the foot fully down. Also, letting the thread slip off one of the clips around the uppy downie arm thing. To use a technical term.
To be honest, the only machine that has ever been me-proof is my wonderful old Victorian one. But I can no longer get needles or bobbins to fit. I bought a newer machine last year, but I find it so hard to get the tension right that I hardly use it

I can lend you my mum but I can't fix the sewing machine myself - standard practice for me when it comes to sewing anything is to make a start, make a mess, call my mum for assistance and then make endless cups of tea while she finishes off whatever project I thought was within my capability!
Came back from a$da tonight (it was empty - amazing!) to find that for once, OH had actually managed to put something back in the exact same spot he got it from. Unfortunately it was the new bottle of milk which was lying on its side in the fridge, which he returned to lying on its side after he'd broken the seal
Just had to spend 10 minutes mopping up spilt milk in the fridge before I could put the shopping away
. I suppose its an excuse for cleaning the fridge properly... next week. CBA to do it now :rotfl: 0 -

Frugal - what a lovely thing to say and think - hope you all have a lovely, lovely day together.
I have ironed again and the last wash before Xmas is being done now so there will only be a small amount to iron tomorrow [we'll ignore the big laundry basket full of towels and bedding that needs washing]. I'm away to wash the kitchen floor now

Hi everyone. Your all so busy. Iv cleaned our kitchen and done the washing. Oh and son have helped clean everywhere. Iv just our room to tidy and a quick clean of the bathroom .
I went for a sleep this afternoon as oh kept me awake . Iv cleaned the billy the jail birds cage too.
Frugal its nice that your having a positive christmas and Im sure it will be fantastic.
Helen make sure you get your feet up with a glass of wine and keep ignoring that laundery basket.
I saw my new niece the other day for the first time. She is now eight months and the most laid back baby I know. 41 and Im a great aunt !. God I feel old.
Our cats have brought us two more rats both dead . One of them came to the room crying for me to follow her. Got down to the kitchen to find one dropped on my door curtain, nice. The cat who brought them was soaked and covered in mud from the park facing. Im going to call the council after xmas as they usually put poision down in the park.
Im looking forward to xmas as Iv not got lots of wrapping or cleaning to do like previouse years. I love the look on my dd and sons face when they open their presents. My dd is fast growing up and this is the last year of believing in father christmas I think.
Take care everyone.0 -

Happy Christmas lovelies
My only achievement today will be getting shot of most of the Christmas presents, and de dog hairing my jumper whilst at work. I thought greyhounds weren't supposed to shed!
Our greatest weakness lies in giving up; always try just one more time0 -
