My home is a mess

I'm exhausted :rotfl:
Just finished wrapping the last of the family presents while my DH is sipping wine and oblivious to the shocking state of the house. I am just far too tired to face doing another thing today.
Hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow

Don't you beat yourself up Buffy - My house is a state - not much has been done today at all.
Actually, tbh, this Christmas is a write off for me in some ways... Will make it a good day for the kids, but would happily cancel.
Dear friend came earlier with pressies which was a lovely surprise... showed her round the house (hers is worse!) and she grinned and said it was fine and actually there was plenty more room for carp as nothing had hit knee level yet
Kids are asleep, thank gawd, and I still have wrapping to do (oh now there's a surprise!!!) so I better go and [STRIKE]get another glass of wine[/STRIKE] start wrapping
DS isn't coming until 2pm so by then the house will be [STRIKE]immaculate[/STRIKE] acceptable and dinner on!
DDs and I will have to go for a walk at some point as I promised we would do a holly table decoration and they want holly on the Xmas pud (choccie one!) so I will need to snaffle some holly from a local tree
Fortunately I have spied one very nearby... It WAS totally covered in berries and then the eejits took the hedge trimmers to it (who would do that this time of year?) so I will probably have to jump to get the decent bits!
Don't stress, Messies - we can't do it ALL!!!!!
ps - I am so glad I found you all. Thank you xxPutting these winter preps here so I don't forget!

Night all. Christmas Elves have been, everyone in new PJs and we have stuffed ourselves silly with treats.
Kids are still awake - too excited to sleep - so I am going to get another glass of wine and see whats on telly while they settle. Been a busy day so hope they arent long.
I tidied up earlier but the lounge is a bomb site already, and thats before anything gets opened tomorrow. Oh well.0 -
Yay :T I knew we'd all get there in the end :j
I still have two items on the list I fondly imagined was achievable yesterday, but who cares???:p
Kids are in bed, presents piled high and stockings stuffed.
Reindeer bells rung outside their doors even though they're sixteen and thirteen and know it's me :rotfl:
Now I'm going to get myself something warm and spiced in one of the best glasses and relax in bed with a book.
If I wait until midnight can I read one of my new ones...?
Happy Christmas everybody!!!import this0 -
Went out for "lunch" today with my family (brother somehow thinks that 11:30 is lunchtime!) and then visited grandparents. Came home to find that OH had not just tidied the lounge and stuck the christmas cards up on the bookcase but he'd also managed to re-fix the curtain pole and hang curtains in the lounge so at last we have a degree of insulation in here. So why does it feel so bloomin chilly tonight!
Haven't got the energy to run the hoover over the place and laundry is still drying in the hall so there's no pretence that its going to be an attractive house this christmas. We just keep talking about how lovely it is going to be next year when we've finished the refurbishment project.
Pressies are all lovingly arranged under the TV in the plastic bags they were delivered in because neither of us have the inclination to clutter the place even more with a tree!
Still, Merry Christmas to everyone. Here's to a lovely day, no matter how messy the surroundings may be!0 -
Happy Christmas Messies everywhere!!! Haven`t had chance to read or post since my last, but got stuff done barely in time, Off to work in a min but had to say LOVE to All & thanks for being there. Emm xxxxx

Merry Christmas to all my wonderful messy friends. Thank you for always being there when I needed you.
The pressies are opened, Christmas dinner eaten and the kids are upstairs with their new gadgets. Going to settle down with some wine, chocolates and OH and read/watch telly.
My parents have gone away for Christmas this year. First time I havent seen Mum and Dad on Christmas day and I am really missing them! No doubt they will ring later.
Hope everyone is having a great day and you have all got a chance to relax now that the hard work is done. Enjoy the rest of the day.0 -

Well what a day
We had a relaxing morning and had just got ready to head to family for dinner when our cat had an accident and I had to drop my DD and DH off so they could have dinner and I had to take him to the emergency vet hospital. Mercifully he is totally fine, although the same can't be said for my bank balance!
My lovely family held off eating dinner until I made it over and we had a lovely meal, eating far too much delicious food and then spending some time dancing to a Wii game (oh it was too funny :rotfl:) Then we had another family stop to make before coming home to frantically clean up the living room for our friends coming round.
Just sat down and am waiting for the merrymakers to arrive
. Hope you have all had a good day, just think about all the mess we can discuss tomorrow :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0
