:santa2: Good Morning Messies :santa2:
Well I am feeling much better today and I am celebrating by having truffles (the chocolate type) for breakfast
.
Currently I am sitting the the middle of absolute chaos :rotfl: and I am trying to convince myself that cleaning the whole house is a good idea!
Incase you are off line over the hols
Merry Christmas Messies!!!
I will be about over the holiday period to chat to those that are still about
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Hi Messies! I`ve just got up and had a read here - a well deserved lie-in as planned after the last 2 days on longday shift. Stayed up very late last night, too, made a curry and talking (not arguing!) with OH & DS.
Rummer, I`m SO glad to hear you`re feeling better now. Thanks, everyone, for your posts & the lovely moral support we all share on here. I hope you all have a really lovely Christmas - however busy or messy it gets!
I shared the `not dusty unless you can autograph it` observation with colleagues too - it was too good not to share! We`ve been like headless chickens on the ward too, staff sickness & quick rota changes, good folks being willing to come in and help out (thanks to our sweet-talking Charge Nurse who can coax an extra shift out of anyone, Bless`im!) Frantic efforts to get patients home (safely!) before Christmas, a lot of extra phoning to organise discharge planning, setting up home-care etc., getting take-home prescriptions done early, etc., but also taking details of new referrals waiting for a bed on the unit. PLUS a lot of visits from ex-patients who are now doing SO well you`d never believe how they were when they were with us. One young man (who is still disabled but once wasn`t ever expected to recover from being paralysed/speechless/totally dependent etc) WALKED in with his dad yesterday (even our tough gruff physio had brimming eyes) and they happened to come at the same time as the Mayor on his pre-Christmas visit. Our lad got all the hugs while the Mayor smiled and tried a few handshakes but knew he`d been Upstaged!! That visit actually MADE my Christmas - I`m filling up now just typing about it. Off today & tomorrow, and feeling nice & Christmassy.
Going to the PUB for a few hours this evening (EEK! In 3 hours time!) & having a quiet panic about what else has to be done.(Haven`t the energy for a full-blown panic just yet). Still undecided what to wear, & what to do for supper, but must decide the latter soon and put something on to cook for the after-pub munchies! Tomorrow is just buy bread/milk, and cook ahead for Christmas & Boxing Day after work.A few last-minute bits to wrap.
Messy status - it`s VERY wet weather again so pointless doing floors/changing rugs. Not too bad. And will get worse before it gets better, I`m ok with that!
Dragging self away to kitchen now to make decisions about food....0 -

Been tidying for ages with very little results
I have however made a lovely giant pot of soup that I am going to enjoy for dinner and my DD has had a lovely relaxing day (as have I). Also booked a lovely few days away with my OH as a special xmas treat
.
Does tidying yarn into snowflake shapes count as reducing mess :rotfl:Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

Of course tidying yarn into snowflake shapes counts as reducing mess. I made millionaires shortbread to reduce my mess, it is just a shame that the rest of my house is still a tip.
Still, I watched the hoarder programme this morning and feel much better about my mess now.:rotfl:0 -

I did point that out to my OH that I clearly wasn't that messy as we could at least (with minimal effort) travel around the house and fit in the bedroom :rotfl:Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
EmmInAPickle - lovely story about that lad - must be so rewarding and I think its lovely that they have popped in to see you all

RosealieLavender - pmsl at you feeling better about your mess now that you've seen the hoarder programme! It makes my house look wonderful too (by comparison!). I felt sad for that chap, but i'm sorry, I was wetting myself laughing at him, and subsequently the counsellor, sliding thru that hole - when I could just see shoes, I almost broke a rib laughing... I think that counsellor needed counselling himself after that ordeal... Can you imagine the smell  Still, very pleased that people helped him and hope that its looking better by now!
:hello: to all the other Messies - I am around Christmas so will no doubt be online now and then
Merry Christmas everybody

I am so shattered now tho. got a party to go to tonight and MUST dye my hair. Greys ago go............................
Happy Christmas you lovely lovely people xxxxxxxxxxxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Forgot to say... We have reached phase 4 of the clean/tidy for Xmas... Phase 4 = lots of black sacks and heap it in my bedroom to be dealt with another day

Result = tidy house, room for tree and presents and happy Me but need to be nimble as mountain goat to get to my bed. Which is fine as its only me going there! (Bedroom will look unnervingly like the The Hoarder Man's house though ) Possible benefit of my very, very untidy bedroom is there is so much stuff in there that the DDs haven't noticed a big box (One of their main pressies!) and a very large carrier bag full of wrapped stocking fillers :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I shall go in there later to excavate some clothes for the next few days, and wash them.Putting these winter preps here so I don't forget!
