Ooh, the birdfeeder is a good idea. I might pinch that one if I can find it in time...0 -
Still treeing.

How many garages did the TV man say he had . . . 5!!!!
How many houses . . . 2!!!!
I'm feeling ok about my !!!!!! hole lol
He seems such a softly, well spoken, clever man. What a waste of a life to become a hoarder like that. I hope there is resolution at the end.
What a lovely neighbour he has
I hope that he has managed to move forward and clear some space and that he has a home that he can live in and not just exist in

Hi everybody. Also been a bit MIA. Put the tree up four days ago, but needed the boxes out of the loft in order to put down the insulation boards I bought weeks ago. And I've had *two* go back to bed headaches, a day and a half socialising (headaches not related to the socialising, lol) and only got the boxes back up late this afternoon.
So I have a nice tidy loft, but all the carp I'd shoved up there is now sitting in my room to be sorted (Edit: actually, only the most obvious stuff-the loft is still full!)...sigh.
However, as I've mentioned before, I was seriously ill three years ago. Today I heard that my cousin, who is three years younger than me, has just been diagnosed with the same rare condition-and they've suggested to her, as they've never suggested to me, that it might be genetic, and usually affects girls.
Luckily, she has four boys. I have a son and a daughter. Not the best piece of news I've ever had.import this0 -
Caught up now...and still chuckling over "shed tetris". If I hadn't been playing "loft tetris" that insulation would have been done in a third of the time.:D
*And* while fixing down a loose board, the banging knocked the filler off the top of the nail heads on the ceiling below. So my lovely new skimmed (but not painted-thank goodness I'm a Messie!) ceiling has four great big craters in it. Still, at least I wrapped the Christmas presents while I was avoiding fixing it. I think that's the way to go-have a job you *really* don't want to do force you to do everything else.:p
Rummer-take care of yourself, and anyone else who's feeling poorly or down. As my mum always says-Christmas lunch is only a big Sunday dinner really. ximport this0 -

I was thinking the same thing about the mess. What a nice bloke, im glad the other neighbours chipped in to help too.
Sorry I've been MIA again and not caught up on all the messies news. Just wanted to wish everyone a good xmas. I'm really looking forward to it. My DH knows that I got a bit mental and want the house tidy for santa coming. Hoping to get quite a bit done on friday afternoon.
While I have been away I've had my new doors fitted and oh they look good. Ok they aren't painted but they still look good
. Although now I think i would like new curtains as the new doors make everything look lighter and I need something to be a contrast. Maybe I should put lotto win on my santa list for all the new things I would like
oI love MSE freebies and comps. Thanks posters0 -
Hi Messies. Just having a quick read before going off to work again. Just want to wish you all a positive & productive day, and hope poorlies feel better. And thanks for the posts - I`m still chuckling over the `headless chicken` ones and the `it`s not really dusty unless you can autograph it`!0

House really looking messed up again - and the festivities haven't even begun yet! I tend to give up as the first piece of wrapping paper gets discarded - but it would be good to have a clean start to the holiday! Will try to get livingroom respectable today - couldn't welcome anyone in right now, more like close the front door and chat outside methinks! Hope you all have a productive day anyway.Resolution:

Morning everyone
Was going to have a nice lie in this morning but have woken up all bunged up and unable to breathe so have got up. Fingers crossed its just a cold though.
Hi Kitty, welcome back!
I thought the programme about the hoarder was great. Got me thinking whether I would have gone round there and helped him. Lucky there are still good people in the world like the lovely landscape gardener.
Laurel, sorry to hear about your news. Is there any way that they can test your daughter? My eldest son has Crohn's Disease and we know that my youngest is more at risk of developing it than other children. That would be my worst nightmare so I try not to think about it.
Thanks for the tips about Gran's present. I need to find out what other people are getting her as she only has a small room. Something like a bird feeder would be nice. I am taking the kids to my Mums this aft so I might have a look in the garden centre.
Hope you are feeling better Rummer. And I hope the house is now looking very festive Buffy. I have discovered that covering the dust on the mantelpiece with tinsel works a treat.0
